Design School Kolding (Danish: Designskolen Kolding) is a design school located in Kolding, Denmark. It delivers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the areas of fashion, textiles, communication design, industrial design, accessory design, and design for people, design for planet and design for play (people, planet and play are offered only as part of the MA programme). It was founded in 1967, and received university status in 2010.

Koldinghus is a Danish royal castle in the town of Kolding on the south central part of the Jutland peninsula. The castle was founded in the 13th century and was expanded since with many functions ranging from fortress, royal residency, ruin, museum, and the location of numerous wartime negotiations.Today the restored castle functions as a museum containing collections of furniture from the 16th century to present, Roman and Gothic church culture, older Danish paintings, crafts focused on ceramics and silver and shifting thematized exhibitions. Koldinghus is managed by the Museum at Koldinghus which was established in 1890.

Kolding Municipality (Danish: Kolding Kommune) is a kommune in the Region of Southern Denmark on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in southeast Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 640 km², and has a total population of 94,528 (2023). Its mayor is Knud Erik Langhoff, a member of the Conservative People's Party. The main city and the site of its municipal council is the seaport city of Kolding, the seventh largest city in Denmark. Several major Danish motorways intersect in Kolding municipality. Middelfart municipality and Kolding municipality are connected by two bridges: the Old Little Belt Bridge and the New Little Belt Bridge. On 1 January 2007 Kolding municipality was, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merged with Christiansfeld, Lunderskov, Vamdrup municipalities, and Vester Nebel Parish in Egtved Municipality to form a new Kolding municipality. The municipality is part of Triangle Region and of the East Jutland metropolitan area, which had a total population of 1.378 million in 2016.

Kolding (Danish pronunciation: [ˈkʰʌle̝ŋ]) is a Danish seaport located at the head of Kolding Fjord in the Region of Southern Denmark. It is the seat of Kolding Municipality. It is a transportation, commercial, and manufacturing centre, and has numerous industrial companies, principally geared towards shipbuilding. The manufacturing of machinery and textiles and livestock export are other economically significant activities. With a population of 94,528 (1 January 2023), the Kolding municipality is the eleventh most populous in Denmark. The city itself has a population of 62,338 (1 January 2023) and is the eighth largest city in Denmark. The city is part of the Triangle Region, which includes the neighbouring cities of Fredericia and Vejle.

Sydbank Arena (formerly known as Kolding Hallerne and Tre-For Arena) is an indoor sports arena in Kolding, Denmark primarily used for handball. The arena has a capacity of 5,001 spectators and is home to Danish Handball League team KIF Kolding, one of the most successful teams in the history of Danish handball.

Kolding Storcenter is a shopping mall in the town of Kolding in Southern Denmark. It is the largest shopping mall in Jutland and one of the largest in Denmark. It covers 62.000m² and has over 120 shops and restaurants. It also has a Bilka hypermarket and a BioCenter cinema with 6 screens. Kolding Storcenter was built in 1993 and expanded in 1999. It was named Denmark's best shopping mall from 2001 to 2003.The centre, like most shopping malls in Denmark, is run by Steen & Strøm Denmark A/S.

The fireworks accident in Seest was a disaster that occurred on 3 November 2004, when the N. P. Johnsens Fyrværkerifabrik fireworks warehouse exploded in Seest, a suburb of Kolding, Denmark. One firefighter died; seven from the rescue team as well as 17 locals were injured. In addition 34 rescuers, 8 police officers, and 27 from the Danish Emergency Management Agency were treated for smoke inhalation. The evacuation of 2,000 people from the immediate surrounding area saved many lives. Eight fire and rescue vehicles were also destroyed. The surrounding area was hit hard by the explosion, with 355 houses reported damaged, and 176 of them rendered uninhabitable. Altogether, 2,107 buildings were damaged by the explosion, with the cost of the damage rounding to an estimated € 100 million. N. P. Johnsens fyrværkerifabrik was the main importer of fireworks in Denmark at the time, accounting for 25% of the total trade. At the time of the disaster, the company was storing 284 net tons (netto explosive mass) of fireworks in its warehouse, the maximum it was allowed to store was 300 tons. Following the disaster, there was an investigation. Initially, it was thought that the factory had stored significantly more than it was allowed to. However, this was later denied by the authorities who concluded that the disaster was due to an accident which the factory was not responsible for. When working inside a container, two employees had accidentally dropped a box containing fireworks, which had caused the fireworks to ignite. The two employees had to flee the container. Once the fire crew arrived, they initially thought that they were dealing with a simple container fire. However, the blaze was too intense, and they were unsuccessful when trying to put it out. Since the firemen had to flee the scene as well, once it became apparent that the container would explode, the rest of the fireworks were eventually ignited as well, causing further violent explosions.

Hotel Koldingfjord is a hotel and conference centre located on the north side of Kolding Fjord near Kolding, Denmark.

Sønder Bjert is a Danish town in the Region of Southern Denmark with a population of 2,063 (1 January 2023). It lies approximately 7 kilometers southeast of Kolding and is a part of the Kolding Municipality.

The Eltang stone (also Stenderup stone, listed as DR 35 in the Rundata catalog (DK SJy 1), is a Viking Age runestone (now at the National Museum of Denmark, catalogue nr. D 52/1950). The stone was discovered in 1866 in North-Stenderup, Eltang parish, Vejle, Region of Southern Denmark, Denmark, about 2 km north of Kolding, on the estate of one Mr. Flensbourg, who gave it to the Oldnordisk Museum (which merged into the National Museum of Denmark in 1892). The Danske Runeindskrifter database of the Copenhagen University's Nordisk Forskningsinstitut dates it to the later Viking Age (the range of AD 900-1200 cited as a "fairly safe" estimate). It is a granite slab, measuring 66 cm high and 60 cm wide at a thickness between 4 and 10 cm. The lower right part of the slab is broken off, but the runic inscription is preserved in its entirety. The inscription consists of nine runic horizontal staves, running top to bottom, enclosed in a frame. The Danske Runeindskrifter database reads i??iæþik?? (after Moltke (1985); transcribing the Younger Futhark ár rune ᛅ as æ). The inscription is discussed in greater detail by George Stephens (1868). Stephens places it in the 9th century, i.e. the early phase of development of the Younger Futhark. He interprets the five first staves as sam-staves, to be read as the same rune attached to the stave twice, and to be read twice, as it were This results in a transcription of ᛁᛓᚦᛁᛅ ᚦᛁᚴᛁ ᛁᛓᚦᛁᛅ, read as ioþin þiki ioþin. Stephens takes this as a reference to Woþin ("which in many dialects was softened to Oþin [...] I look upon the i as a Jutlandish prefix") and he translates "O Woden receive [thy servant] Woden!". He notes that (assuming his interpretation is correct) this is the first instance of the theonym Odin found recorded on a Scandinavian runestone.

Kolding Fjord is a 10 km long fjord between Kolding and Little Belt. Fjord has a 7 meters deep ship channel linking it to Kolding port. In 1943 a shipwreck later known as Kolding cog was found in the fjord.

Skamlingsbanken is a large hill located in Vejstrup Parish, Jutland, Denmark, between Kolding and Christiansfeld. With a peak rising to 113 metres (371 ft) above sea level, it is the highest point in Southern Jutland. The bank of the hill is 2 to 3 kilometres (1.2 to 1.9 mi) long and was created during the ice age with clay pushed up the Little Belt Strait from a nearby glacier. Several major historic public meetings took place here during and after the disputes over the territory of Schleswig-Holstein. When peace returned, there was an exchange of territories between the kingdom and the Duchy of Southern Jutland. As a result, eight non-Jutland parishes in the northern part of Tyrstrup Herred, including Vejstrup Parish, were transferred to the kingdom and Skamlingsbanken thereafter fell within the borders of Denmark.
