The Heights School is a preparatory school for boys in grades 3–12 in Potomac, Maryland, United States. Its mission is to assist parents in the intellectual, spiritual, and physical education of their sons. The Heights School offers a liberal arts curriculum in English, mathematics, classics, history, religion, science, Spanish, art, computers, and music.As of 2017–2018, the school had an enrollment of 538 kids and 62.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 8.7. Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, supervises the school's religious orientation and spiritual formation. The local church authority, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, however, does not include the Heights in their list of Catholic schools. Still, the faculty for the Catholic doctrine program as well as the curriculum are reviewed and approved by the Archdiocese of Washington.

Winston Churchill High School, often referred to as WCHS, Churchill High School, CHS or Churchill, is a high school in Potomac, Maryland, United States, an unincorporated section of Montgomery County. It is the only public high school in Potomac. The school is named after Winston Churchill, a British statesman and politician who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II. Founded in 1964 as Potomac High School, the school's name was changed to "Winston Churchill High School" a year later.Churchill is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system. The majority of the students come from Herbert Hoover Middle School (75%) and Cabin John Middle School (25%).

Scotland is a predominantly African American community in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located along Seven Locks Road. Consisting of 100 townhomes, Scotland community's roots date back to the late 19th century, when former slaves bought land in Potomac.

The German International School Washington D.C. (GISW), formerly Deutsche Schule Washington D.C. (DSW), is a private, co-educational school in Potomac, Maryland, covering levels preschool through 12th grade. As one of over 140 schools in the network of German Schools around the globe, the GISW has a strong focus on STEM subjects and world languages. The student body encompasses students age 2 in preschool through 12th grade. As of the school year 2022/23, knowledge of German is not required for admission to preschool though Grade 6. German language learning support is provided. The diplomas granted at the end of twelfth grade are the German International Abitur (DIA) and a High School Diploma. These degrees provide students access to the best universities all around the world. On Saturdays, German Language Courses are offered for students age 3 through adults. In the Saturday program students can attain the Deutsche Sprachdiplom 1 and 2. (DSD1 and DSD2).

Beth Sholom Congregation and Talmud Torah (abbreviated as BSCTT) is a Modern Orthodox synagogue on Seven Locks Road in Potomac, Maryland, in the United States. The largest Orthodox synagogue in the Washington metropolitan area, it is led by Rabbi Nissan Antine.

The Robert Llewellyn Wright House is a historic home located at 7927 Deepwell Drive in Bethesda, Maryland. It is an 1800-square foot two-story concrete-block structure designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1953, and constructed in 1957 for his sixth child, Robert Llewellyn Wright (1903–86), who worked at the Justice Department.The Usonian house was designed using intersecting and concentric segments of a circle, or "hemicycles". Initial designs were scrapped after the construction was too costly.The house can be seen from Deepwell Drive on a sloping lot that overlooks a stream. It is also visible from the Cabin John Stream Valley Trail, which follows the Cabin John Creek below it. In 1960, the grounds were landscaped by Lloyd Wright, brother of the client, and the son of the architect. As of 2010, the house was inhabited by Tom Wright, grandson of Frank Lloyd Wright, and a volcano specialist.It is one of only two Wright-designed structures in Maryland; the other is the Joseph Euchtman House in Baltimore County.

Betsy King won the fifth of her six major titles, eleven strokes ahead of runners-up JoAnne Carner, Liselotte Neumann, and Karen Noble. She led by five strokes after 54 holes, and her victory margin was the largest to date, passing Patty Sheehan's ten-stroke win in 1984, and it stood until 2010. King was the first to card all four rounds in the sixties in an LPGA major; it was her only win at the LPGA Championship. This was the third of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.

The 1993 LPGA Championship was the 39th LPGA Championship, played June 10–13 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Patty Sheehan won the fourth of her six major titles, one stroke ahead of runner-up Lauri Merten. She trailed by two strokes after entering the final round, and it was her third and final win at the LPGA Championship, with previous victories in 1983 and 1984.This was the last of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.

The 1991 LPGA Championship was the 37th LPGA Championship, played June 27–30 at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb northwest of Washington, D.C. Meg Mallon shot a final round 67 (−4) to win the first of her four major titles, one stroke ahead of runners-up Pat Bradley and Ayako Okamoto. All three were tied for the lead at 207 (−6) after 54 holes, and played in the final grouping on Sunday. They came to the final hole tied at nine under par; all three put their drives in the fairway and had putts for birdie, but only Mallon converted. She won the U.S. Women's Open two weeks later. This was the second of four consecutive LPGA Championships at Bethesda Country Club.
