Trampas Canyon is a short tributary of San Juan Creek in southern Orange County the U.S. state of California. It rises in forks on steep slopes of the southern Santa Ana Mountains (33.4883597°N 117.5933813°W / 33.4883597; -117.5933813), and flows north to where it is dammed by Trampas Canyon Dam (USGS San Clemente Quad 7½"). Trampas Canyon 1795-006 Dam (33.498359°N 117.587548°W / 33.498359; -117.587548) forms a small lake that branches into four forks running east–west. Exiting the dam, the creek flows north and turns slightly to the west, where it joins San Juan Creek on the left bank, near the confluence of Cañada Gobernadora (33.3053°N 117.3458°W / 33.3053; -117.3458). Trampas Canyon Creek is ephemeral and only flows during storm events or while Trampas Canyon Dam is releasing, and is not a primary tributary of San Juan Creek.A study was prepared in 1999 by the City of San Juan Capistrano, and it was found that a failure of the earthen Trampas Canyon Dam would do more damage to the lower course of San Juan Creek than for a 100 year flood. A failure would cause a floodwave over 0.5 miles (0.80 km) wide to rush down the lower 4.7 miles (7.6 km) of San Juan Creek to Doheny State Beach, flooding parts of San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point. A 100-year flood would cause a slightly smaller inundation.

Rancho Mission Viejo (Spanish: Rancho Misión Vieja, meaning "Old Mission Ranch") is an active 23,000 acres (9,300 ha) ranch and farm, habitat reserve, residential community, and census-designated place in South Orange County, California. Rancho Mission Viejo originated as a series of land grants to John Forster in 1845. The remaining part of Rancho Mission Viejo consists of a nearly 17,000-acre (6,900 ha) nature reserve (The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo) and multiple residential communities slated to open in phases between 2010 and 2030. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 10,378.

KSBR (88.5 FM, "88.5 The SoCal Sound") is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to Mission Viejo, California and broadcasting to the Orange County area. The station is owned by Saddleback College and airs adult album alternative (AAA) and Americana music with a mix of legends, new music, and local music with some specialty programming on weekends. KSBR is simulcast with KCSN in Northridge, California.

San Juan Hills High School is a high school located in San Juan Capistrano, California, and it is the sixth high school of the Capistrano Unified School District. The school officially opened in the 2007–2008 school year as a new comprehensive high school and it serves the residents of San Juan Capistrano, Talega of San Clemente, Capistrano Beach, and southern Ladera Ranch in Orange County, California.

Bell Canyon is a major drainage of the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County, California in the United States. Bell Creek (also known as Bell Canyon Creek or Arroyo de las Campanas) flows about 14.4 miles (23.2 km) in a southerly direction to its confluence with San Juan Creek. The Bell Canyon drainage is located to the east and parallel to Cañada Gobernadora, and to the south of Trabuco Creek. After Trabuco Creek, it is the second largest tributary of San Juan Creek in terms of length and its watershed area of 26 square miles (67 km2). Most of Bell Canyon consists of wilderness in the Cleveland National Forest and Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park. The valley is more than 1,000 feet (300 m) deep and averages a mile (1.61 km) wide, and is joined by the major tributaries of Dove Canyon, Crow Canyon and Tick Creek.

Arroyo Bird House Park is a small urban park in San Juan Capistrano, California, next to the San Juan Creek Trail. Community-led, it contains many colorful birdhouses and is managed by the city. Many of the birdhouses are engraved with dedications from the people who added them. Locals have placed statues and handmade ornaments near the houses as well.

Ladera Ranch is a master-planned community and census-designated place located in south Orange County, California, just outside the city limits of Mission Viejo.

Talega is the name of a tract housing project in the city of San Clemente in Orange County, California. It is a planned community, and began construction in 1999.

Tesoro High School is a public high school in southern Orange County area of Las Flores, California, United States. Established in the fall of 2001, Tesoro is 1 of 6 regular high schools in the Capistrano Unified School District. As of the 2014–2015 year, Tesoro serves nearly 2500 students in grades 9–12. Students attending Tesoro are within the cities of Rancho Santa Margarita, Las Flores, Ladera Ranch, Coto de Caza and Mission Viejo.

The Frank A. Forster House in San Juan Capistrano, California is a 6,000-square-foot (560 m2) stucco, Spanish tile roofed mansion built in 1910 for $10,000 by Frank Ambrosio Foster, grandson of rancher John (Don Juan) Forster. It is the only remaining home of its style and era in the area. It was designed as a 5-bedroom, 1-bathroom home in the Mission Revival style by Los Angeles architects Robert Farquhar Train and Robert Edmund Williams (Train & Williams). Upon the deaths of Frank and his wife Ada, their daughter Alice Forster Leck inherited the house, and bequeathed it to her nephew Pancho Forster.The property changed owners in 1975, and was purchased as a fixer-upper in 1983 by interior designer Martha Gresham, who traded two Porterville ranches for the house. It came with a legend of a ghost, nicknamed "George the Ghost" by Gresham. She spent $350,000 restoring the mansion, and used it as a home and office until 1990 when she sold it to photographer Phillip Stewart Charis.The mansion is a San Juan Capistrano Historic and Cultural Landmark. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Orange County, California in 1986.

El Horno Creek or Horno Creek (Spanish: "Oven Creek") is a tributary stream of San Juan Creek in Orange County in the U.S. state of California. It is approximately 5.9 miles (9.5 km) long and drains an area of 4.3 square miles (11 km2). The creek joins San Juan Creek on the right bank, only a few hundred yards upstream of the Trabuco Creek confluence, within the city limits of San Juan Capistrano. The creek begins in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains (33.5672464°N 117.6300495°W / 33.5672464; -117.6300495), in the mostly residential CDP of Ladera Ranch. The headwaters of the creek were formerly divided into two canyons, but during the development of Ladera Ranch starting in the late 1990s the area was regraded, and the headwaters combined into a single 2.4-mile (3.9 km) channel. The creek flows southwest through a small flood control dam and into San Juan Capistrano, where it crosses under Interstate 5 and turns south, bisecting San Juan Elementary School. Shortly past the school the creek enters an underground concrete channel passing under the I-5/CA 74 interchange and flows into San Juan Creek at (33.4978044°N 117.6553283°W / 33.4978044; -117.6553283). Although significant stretches of the creek remain above ground, riparian habitat along the creek remains "sporadic" despite its perennial flow mainly due to pollution from stormwater.
