Te Puna West

Plummers Point is a rural settlement in the Western Bay of Plenty District and Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is on a headland on the southern side of Tauranga Harbour, opposite Motuhoa Island, and between Mangawhai Bay and Te Puna Estuary. The East Coast Main Trunk forms its southern boundary.Ongarahu Pā is on 12 to 15 metre-high cliffs at the northern end. It is well-preserved and a tourist attraction.

Ōmokoroa is a small urban area in the Western Bay of Plenty District of New Zealand. The suburb is considered part of Greater Tauranga (contributing towards its population of 161,800), and is within the Coromandel electorate. Ōmokoroa began as a small rural holiday village, but is expanding to be a commuter town, with a 25-minute drive to Tauranga City. Ōmokoroa urban area had a population of 3210 as of 2018, and is designated as an area of special housing growth. With the rural area to the south, it is expected to reach a population of 12,000 by 2020–2030, and is situated within the Kaimai Ward, Western Bay of Plenty. Ōmokoroa includes the urban area on the harbour side of State Highway 2, along with Youngson Road to Plummers Point Road, and parts of Old Highway Road.

Motuhoa Island is in the western Bay of Plenty of New Zealand's North Island, in Tauranga Harbour, over 2 km (1.2 mi) long, up to 35 m (115 ft) high and about 1.25 km (0.78 mi) southeast of Ōmokoroa, with 5 km (3.1 mi) of low cliff, which on the north is up to 8 m (26 ft) high, with almost no vegetation. A boat ramp is near the east tip of the island, on the north shore. For the 2018 census, the island had a population too small to record. Shore skinks live on the beaches.

Te Puna is a rural community near Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located on State Highway 2, north of Bethlehem and south of Katikati. The local Te Puna Quarry has been redeveloped by volunteers into a park.Te Puna has three marae belonging to the Ngāti Ranginui hapū of Pirirākau: Paparoa Marae and Werahiko meeting house, Poutūterangi Marae and Takurua meeting house, and Tutereinga Marae and meeting house.Former National Party leader Todd Muller was raised in Te Puna in the 1970s, where his parents started a kiwifruit orchard. He attended Te Puna Primary School. He entered parliament at the 2014 general election as the MP for Bay of Plenty, and was National Party leader and the Leader of the Opposition from 22 May to 14 July 2020.

Tauranga Harbour is the natural tidal harbour that surrounds Tauranga CBD and the Mount Maunganui area of Tauranga, New Zealand, and which flows into the Pacific Ocean at Mount Maunganui. The harbour is effectively two flooded river systems separated from the Pacific Ocean by Matakana Island. The harbour is a large tidal estuary with an area of some 200-km2 and has a tidal range of up to 1.98m. Approximately 290,000,000 tonnes of water flow through the entrances at each tidal change. This tidal flow can generate currents of up to 7 knots within the entrance channels. The Port of Tauranga is located in the harbour and container ships and cruise ships use the harbour's waters. The Tauranga harbour entrance is the shipping channel to the Port of Tauranga, New Zealand’s largest export port. Shipping movements can take place at any time, day or night, through the main channels. The harbour is used for many recreational activities, including water skiing, kite surfing, jet skiing, boating, swimming, diving and fishing.

Minden is a rural community in the Western Bay of Plenty District and Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. The peak that the area is named after was named after the 1759 Battle of Minden in Prussia by a soldier stationed in Tauranga in 1866 after the Tauranga campaign.The Minden lookout on the corner of Minden and Junction roads provides views over Tauranga.The Minden Scenic Reserve has a 15-minute loop walk from Ainsworth Road.Minden Peak is at 288 metres above sea level, and can be accessed via the Minden Stairs, with over 320 steps.

The Tauranga Volcanic Centre is a geologic region in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. It extends from the southern end of Waihi Beach and from the old volcanoes of the Coromandel Peninsula that make up the northern part of the Kaimai Range, towards the Taupō Volcanic Zone.

The Wairoa River runs north into Tauranga Harbour at the western end of the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand's North Island.

Bethlehem is a suburb of Tauranga in New Zealand's North Island. Originally a small independent town, it has now been absorbed by Tauranga and comprises a number of subdivisions including Bethlehem Heights, Sterling Gate, La Cumbre, Saint Andrews, and Mayfield.It is situated on State Highway 2, and has amenities such as the Bethlehem Town Centre shopping centre.

Bellevue is a suburb of Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. Bellevue has an athletics club which takes part in national championships.A woman fired a gun in the suburb in March 2019, sparking a lockdown of local schools.Two girls were held hostage by their father in their Bellevue home in November 2019, before Police shot the father.

Ōtūmoetai Intermediate is a co-ed Intermediate school situated in Tauranga, New Zealand. The school roll is 932 as of April 2023.Ōtūmoetai Intermediate offers many technology classes, taken twice a week by the students. The tech classes are visual art, dance and drama, music, food, wood work, and ICT.

Otumoetai College is a state co-educational secondary school located in Tauranga, New Zealand. The school opened in February 1965 with 206 students from years 9 to 13 (ages 12 to 18) to serve the western suburbs of Tauranga. Otumoetai is claimed to stand for "peaceful waters" implied by the peaceful surroundings and estuary within the Otumoetai area.In February 2023, Otumoetai College had a roll of 1921 students, making it the largest school in the Bay of Plenty Region.
