Irwell was a small rural township in Canterbury, New Zealand on the intersection of Leeston and Selwyn Lake Roads. All that remains are the former school hall, a church, and a small number of houses.

Pineglades Naturist Club is a naturist resort located in Rolleston, some 22 kilometres (14 mi) southwest of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. It is situated on 7.4 hectares (18 acres) of landscaped parkland and comprises a clubhouse with recreational and camping facilities, an arboretum with nature walks, and approximately 60 baches, of which a small number are available for hire (the remainder being club members' holiday residences). Facilities include a swimming pool, spa and sauna complex, a lounge bar, a children's playground, and sports courts. Pineglades is clothing-optional and open throughout the year.

Springston is a small rural Canterbury town in the South Island of New Zealand Springston was developed around the mid-19th century, beginning with the establishment of Spring Station by James E. FitzGerald, who farmed there from 1853 to 1857, and then again from 1860 to 1867. The first building in the village was a Methodist church, which opened in 1866 (replaced by a second building in 1873). Walter Lawry, who emigrated with his wife and 10 children to New Zealand in 1862, was Methodist preacher in Springston for 50 years.St Mary's Church, which opened in 1875, was one of the earliest Anglican churches in Canterbury. Clergyman Harry Stocker, newly arrived from Ireland, helped organise subscriptions and donations to fund the building of both it and St Paul's in Tai Tapu (1876). Both churches were designed by Christchurch architect Frederick Strouts, who later designed Ivey Hall at Lincoln University.The George Roy Store was formerly known as Howard and Dartnall, a store established in 1874 by Harry Lloyd Dartnall in partnership with his relative Mr. Howard. Other historic buildings include the Springston Hotel, the original Methodist parsonage, and four cottages over 100 years old.The Springston rugby grounds at the Domain hold rugby cricket and tennis for locals and surrounding residents. The Springston Pony Club started the South Island's Springston Trophy in 1976. Springston has a pub, dairy, and community hall on Leeston Road.

Rolleston College is the only secondary school in the town of Rolleston, New Zealand. The school is described as a co-educational state high school. The school is one of the largest secondary schools in the South Island, having a roll of 1583 as of April 2023.

Burnham, also known as Burnham Camp, is the largest army base in New Zealand's South Island. It is located 28 kilometres south of Christchurch on the Canterbury Plains in the Selwyn District, close to the town of Dunsandel. Burnham was named after Burnham Beeches, Buckinghamshire.The senior headquarters at the camp has seen many changes. Previously Headquarters 3 Task Force, 3 Task Force Region, HQ Ready Reaction Force, and 3 Land Force Group have been based here. Most recently 3 Land Force Group was disbanded in 2011, and Headquarters Deployable Joint Task Force Headquarters - Land (DJTFHQ-L) was formed.

Izone is an industrial suburb of Rolleston in Selwyn District, Canterbury Region, New Zealand.

Rolleston (Māori: Roretana, Tauwharekākaho) is the seat and largest town in the Selwyn District, in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the Canterbury Plains 22 kilometres (14 mi) south-west of Christchurch, and is part of the wider Christchurch metropolitan area. The town has a population of 29,600 (June 2023), making it New Zealand's 23rd-largest urban area and the second-largest in Canterbury (behind Christchurch). Rolleston is one of the fastest growing towns in New Zealand.

The Station is a planned shopping centre located in Rolleston, New Zealand. According to the developers, it will be 1.5 times bigger than Tower Junction (Christchurch’s largest bulk retail complex), making this project the South Island's largest non-enclosed retail centre, with an area of 18 hectares (44 acres). Construction will start in 2023.

Selwyn Huts, also called Upper Selwyn Huts, is a rural settlement close to the northern shore of Lake Ellesmere / Te Waihora in the Selwyn District of New Zealand. Lower Selwyn Huts is a smaller settlement 2.8 km further south.The settlement consists of private dwellings on public land, and has existed since 1895. Residents pay an annual licensing fee for use of the land.Lower Selwyn Huts was affected by flooding in 2021.

The L II River (Māori: Ararira or Te awa o Āraiara) is a small spring-fed river in Canterbury, New Zealand. It rises near Lincoln and flows through very flat farmland, mostly fed by land drainage ditches before emptying into Lake Ellesmere / Te Waihora just east of the mouth of the Selwyn River / Waikirikiri.

Lincoln Green is a cricket ground in Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand. The ground is located directly next to the Bert Sutcliffe Oval and forms part of the New Zealand Cricket Academy. The first recorded match on the ground came when New Zealand Women played New Zealand A Women team in February 1997. Later that year the ground held its first first-class match when the New Zealand Academy cricket team played Bangladesh, which the academy won against their opponents who had yet to gain Test status by an innings and 115 runs. Late the following year, the academy played Pakistan A. Two further first-class matches were later held there in the 1998/99 Shell Conference when the Southern Conference played the Central Conference and the Northern Conference. The final first-class match held there came in 1999 when New Zealand A played the touring South Africans.The ground held nine Women's One Day Internationals during the 2000 Women's World Cup. Two years later the ground held six Youth One Day Internationals in the 2002 Under-19 World Cup.

The Bert Sutcliffe Oval is a cricket ground at Lincoln University in Lincoln, New Zealand that has staged first-class matches as well as international matches for both women's and under-19 level cricket. Previously known as BIL Oval, in February 2000 the ground was renamed in honour of the New Zealand opening batsman.The ground staged its maiden first-class match in November 1999 when England A played the North Island in the Shell Conference. It has since staged a number of A team matches as well as domestic fixtures including the 2009 State Championship final.The ground has most often been used to host Women's One Day International cricket. It staged the final and both semi-finals of the 2000 Women's World Cup, was the major venue at the World Series of Women's Cricket in 2003 and regularly hosts New Zealand women's team matches against touring sides.The ground hosted its first One Day International between Netherlands and Kenya during the 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier on 23 January 2014.
