L II River

Selwyn Huts, also called Upper Selwyn Huts, is a rural settlement close to the northern shore of Lake Ellesmere / Te Waihora in the Selwyn District of New Zealand. Lower Selwyn Huts is a smaller settlement 2.8 km further south.The settlement consists of private dwellings on public land, and has existed since 1895. Residents pay an annual licensing fee for use of the land.Lower Selwyn Huts was affected by flooding in 2021.

The Bert Sutcliffe Oval is a cricket ground at Lincoln University in Lincoln, New Zealand that has staged first-class matches as well as international matches for both women's and under-19 level cricket. Previously known as BIL Oval, in February 2000 the ground was renamed in honour of the New Zealand opening batsman.The ground staged its maiden first-class match in November 1999 when England A played the North Island in the Shell Conference. It has since staged a number of A team matches as well as domestic fixtures including the 2009 State Championship final.The ground has most often been used to host Women's One Day International cricket. It staged the final and both semi-finals of the 2000 Women's World Cup, was the major venue at the World Series of Women's Cricket in 2003 and regularly hosts New Zealand women's team matches against touring sides.The ground hosted its first One Day International between Netherlands and Kenya during the 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier on 23 January 2014.

Lincoln Green is a cricket ground in Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand. The ground is located directly next to the Bert Sutcliffe Oval and forms part of the New Zealand Cricket Academy. The first recorded match on the ground came when New Zealand Women played New Zealand A Women team in February 1997. Later that year the ground held its first first-class match when the New Zealand Academy cricket team played Bangladesh, which the academy won against their opponents who had yet to gain Test status by an innings and 115 runs. Late the following year, the academy played Pakistan A. Two further first-class matches were later held there in the 1998/99 Shell Conference when the Southern Conference played the Central Conference and the Northern Conference. The final first-class match held there came in 1999 when New Zealand A played the touring South Africans.The ground held nine Women's One Day Internationals during the 2000 Women's World Cup. Two years later the ground held six Youth One Day Internationals in the 2002 Under-19 World Cup.

Lincoln University (Māori: Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki) is a public university in New Zealand that was formed in 1990 when Lincoln College, Canterbury was made independent of the University of Canterbury. Founded in 1878, it is the oldest agricultural teaching institution in the Southern Hemisphere. It remains the smallest university in New Zealand (by enrolment) and one of the eight public universities. The campus is situated on 50 ha (120 acres) of land located about 15 km (9 mi) outside the city of Christchurch, in Lincoln, Canterbury. In 2018 Lincoln University had 2695 Equivalent Full Time Students (EFTS) and 633 full-time equivalent staff (188 Academic, 135 Administration and Support, 65 Research and Technical, 273 Farms and Operational).Lincoln University is a member of the Euroleague for Life Sciences.

Ivey Hall is a historic building on the campus of Lincoln University in New Zealand. It is registered as a Category I structure by Heritage New Zealand. The building was designed by Frederick Strouts and built between 1878 and 1880. Strouts modelled the design on Rothamsted Manor in Hertfordshire. Originally, it was used as an accommodation building for students and the director of the School of Agriculture. Later on, it became the university's library. In 1954, it was named after William Ivey (1838–1892), the inaugural head of the teaching institution. It is one of the earliest large buildings built in permanent materials in Canterbury and the earliest large structure in New Zealand of Jacobethan architecture still in existence. It has been extended several times, with the 1881 extension designed by Strouts, the west wing was designed in 1918 by John Guthrie, and Cecil Wood designed the Memorial Hall in 1923.Ivey Hall is registered by Heritage New Zealand as a Category I building with registration number 273. It was originally classified as B. It was badly damaged by the 2010 Canterbury earthquake.

The Lincoln University Art Collection consists of over 280 works owned by Lincoln University, Lincoln, New Zealand. Almost all the works are by New Zealand artists, including Robyn Kahukiwa, Bill Hammond, and Toss Wollaston. Acquired between 1974 and 2014, the collection is particularly strong in artists from the 1980s and 1990s.

Lincoln (Māori: Rīkona) is a town in the Selwyn District, in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand's South Island. The town is located on the Canterbury Plains to the west of Banks Peninsula, 22 kilometres southwest of Christchurch. The town has a population of 10,250 (June 2023), making it the second largest town in the Selwyn District behind nearby Rolleston. Lincoln is part of the Christchurch metropolitan area; at the 2006 Census, 53% of employed Lincoln residents worked in the city. The town is home to Lincoln University, the oldest agricultural tertiary institution in the Southern Hemisphere and the smallest of New Zealand's eight universities.

The Lincoln University Entomology Research Collection is a collection of approximately 500,000 insect, spider, and other arthropod specimens housed in Lincoln University, New Zealand. Being one of New Zealand's largest insect research collections, it is the only one based in a university.

Springston is a small rural Canterbury town in the South Island of New Zealand Springston was developed around the mid-19th century, beginning with the establishment of Spring Station by James E. FitzGerald, who farmed there from 1853 to 1857, and then again from 1860 to 1867. The first building in the village was a Methodist church, which opened in 1866 (replaced by a second building in 1873). Walter Lawry, who emigrated with his wife and 10 children to New Zealand in 1862, was Methodist preacher in Springston for 50 years.St Mary's Church, which opened in 1875, was one of the earliest Anglican churches in Canterbury. Clergyman Harry Stocker, newly arrived from Ireland, helped organise subscriptions and donations to fund the building of both it and St Paul's in Tai Tapu (1876). Both churches were designed by Christchurch architect Frederick Strouts, who later designed Ivey Hall at Lincoln University.The George Roy Store was formerly known as Howard and Dartnall, a store established in 1874 by Harry Lloyd Dartnall in partnership with his relative Mr. Howard. Other historic buildings include the Springston Hotel, the original Methodist parsonage, and four cottages over 100 years old.The Springston rugby grounds at the Domain hold rugby cricket and tennis for locals and surrounding residents. The Springston Pony Club started the South Island's Springston Trophy in 1976. Springston has a pub, dairy, and community hall on Leeston Road.

Lincoln Primary School is a co-educational school based in Lincoln, New Zealand located on the Canterbury Plains to the west of Banks Peninsula, 22 kilometers south of Christchurch. The school is divided into five Syndicates: Syndicate 1 for Year 0, 1 & 2 students (5 to 7 year olds), Syndicate 2 for Year 3 & 4 students, Syndicate 3 for Year 5 & 6 students, Syndicate 4 for Year 7 & 8 students (11 to 13 year olds), and Syndicate 5 (Technology Centre). The Technology Centre caters for nine other partnership schools from Selwyn and the surrounding area. Lincoln Primary School is situated next to Lincoln High School, a short distance from Lincoln University.

Lincoln High School is a state co-educational secondary school located in Lincoln in Canterbury's Selwyn District in New Zealand. Serving Years 9 to 13 (12- to 18-year-olds), the school has a roll of 1376 students as of April 2023.
