It was home to 176,890 inhabitants in the 2020 census.During the Yuan dynasty, this region was flooded by Guyu River and formed a large desert landscape. It was named Huangcun (Chinese: 荒村; lit. 'Deserted Village') at first, and the name got corrupted to Huangcun (Chinese: 黄村; lit. 'Yellow Village') in the Qing dynasty.

Gaomidiannan Station (Chinese: 高米店南站; pinyin: Gāomǐdiàn Nán Zhàn) is a station on the Daxing line (through operation to Line 4) of the Beijing Subway.

Guanyinsi Subdistrict (simplified Chinese: 观音寺街道; traditional Chinese: 觀音寺街道; pinyin: Guānyīnsì Jiēdào) is a subdistrict in the northern portion of Daxing District, Beijing, China. It is located at the south and west of Xihongmen Town, north of Tiangongyuan Subdistrict and Huangcun Town, northeast of Xingfeng and Linxiao Road Subdistricts, and east of Qingyuan and Gaomidian Subdistricts. In the year 2020, it had a total population of 111,225.The name of this subdistrict is referring to a temple dedicated to Guanyin within its borders.

It borders Qingyuan Subdistrict in its north, Guanyinsi Subdistrict in its east, Linxiao Road Subdistrict in its south, and Huangcun Town in its west and north. As of 2020, its population was 79,851.The name Xingfeng (Chinese: 兴丰; lit. 'Flourish Abundance') came from Xingfeng Avenue, the most prosperous street within the area.

National New Media Industry Base (simplified Chinese: 国家新媒体产业基地; traditional Chinese: 國家新媒體產業基地; pinyin: Guójiā Xīn Méitǐ Chǎnyè Jīdì), is a state-level cultural and technological development zone inside of Guanyinsi Subdistrict, Daxing District, Beijing, China. As of 2020, its census population was 9,827.

Gaomidianbei Station (Chinese: 高米店北站; pinyin: Gāomǐdiàn Běi Zhàn) is a station on the Daxing line (through operation to Line 4) of the Beijing Subway.

Daxing District (simplified Chinese: 大兴区; traditional Chinese: 大興區; pinyin: Dàxīng Qū) is a district of Beijing, covering the southern suburbs of the city. Gaomidian Subdistrict (Chinese: 高米店街道; pinyin: Gāomǐdiàn Jiēdào) is a subdistrict situated on the northern side of Daxing District, Beijing, China. It borders Xihongmen Town to its north, Guanyinsi Subdistrict to its east, Qingyuan Subdistrict to its south, as wel as Huangcun Town and Huaxiang Subdistrict to its west. It was home to 99,959 people as of 2020.The subdistrict was created from the northern section of Qingyuan Subdistrict in 2014.
