Kanasín

Kanasín Municipality (In the Yucatec Maya Language: “tense or strongly tightened”) is one of the 106 municipalities in the Mexican state of Yucatán containing (72.81 km2) of land and located roughly 5 km east of the city of Mérida.

Hacienda San Ildefonso Teya (aka Hacienda Teya) is located in the Kanasín Municipality in the state of Yucatán in southeastern Mexico. During the seventeenth century it was one of the largest and most profitable cattle ranches in Yucatán. It was converted to agriculture and during the nineteenth century was part of the henequen boom. The hacienda has been restored and converted into a hotel, restaurant and tourist center.

The Estadio Carlos Iturralde is a multi-use stadium in the Mexican city of Mérida, Yucatán. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Venados. The stadium holds 15,087 people.

Parque Kukulcán Alamo (Kukulcán Alamo Park) is a stadium located in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Leones de Yucatán (Yucatán Lions) Mexican League baseball team. It holds 14,917 people and was opened in 1982. The stadium is named for Kukulkán, the Maya feathered serpent deity.

It is part of the Cuxtal Ecological Reserve which was set aside in 1993 to protect both the man-made and natural history of the reserve area of Mérida.

The Museo Conmemorativo de la Inmigración Coreana a Yucatán (lit. 'Museum Commemorating the Immigration of Koreans to Yucatán'; Korean: 한국 이민사 박물관) is a museum in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. It was established on either February 26, 2005 or May 15, 2007, and focuses on the history and culture of Koreans in Mexico, particularly in Mérida. As of 2022, the director of the museum was Dolores García Escalante.The museum was established as part of celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Koreans arriving in Mexico. It was established with the joint effort and funding of the Mexican and South Korean governments. The building used to house the headquarters of the Yucatán branch of the Korean National Association, from around 1930 to 1960.The museum covers the Korean Mexicans' role in the Korean independence movement during the Japanese colonial period. The names of many of the original migrants are written on plaques in the museum. It houses many historic artifacts from the local community, including photographs, documents, and objects. Elements of Korean culture, including clothing (hanbok) and a historic warship replica (turtle ship) are displayed in the museum. Exhibits identify similarities between Mexican and Korean history and culture, as well as the harsh realities of the difficult labor the early Korean laborers were subjected to in Mexico. They also highlight the diversity that developed in the community, with children speaking more Mayan than they could Korean.

Hacienda Chichí Suárez is located in the Mérida Municipality in the state of Yucatán in southeastern Mexico. It is one of the properties that arose during the nineteenth century henequen boom. It was founded by a Spanish conquistador, owned by the grandson of the founder of Mérida and at least two governors of the State of Yucatán. The home is one of the oldest structures in Mérida.

The Museo de la Canción Yucateca Asociación Civil (Museum of the Yucatecan Song) is a museum located in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. Founded in 1978, its mission is to rescue, preserve and promote the characteristic music and cultural background from the Yucatán Peninsula. The museum was conceived by Mrs. Rosario Cáceres Baqueiro, granddaughter of the creator of "trova yucateca", Cirilo Baqueiro Preve, better known as Chan Cil. It is located in an old colonial style house that was built at the end of the 19th century, in the neighborhood of La Mejorada in the center of the city; the house was donated to the museum in 2001. The building was restored in 2015 at a cost of 20 million pesos. The courtyard has full size statues of singers Pepe Domínguez, Guty Cárdenas and Ricardo Palmerín. There is a theater, and displays include musical instruments, phonographs, musical scores, photographs, paintings, and sculptures.

The Republic of Yucatán (Spanish: República de Yucatán) was a sovereign state during two periods of the nineteenth century. The first Republic of Yucatán, founded May 29, 1823, willingly joined the Mexican federation as the Federated Republic of Yucatán on December 23, 1823, less than seven months later. The second Republic of Yucatán began in 1841, with its declaration of independence from the Centralist Republic of Mexico. It remained independent for seven years, after which it rejoined the United Mexican States. The area of the former republic includes the modern Mexican states of Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo. The Republic of Yucatán usually refers to the second republic (1841–1848). The Republic of Yucatán was governed by the Constitution of 1841 which guaranteed individual rights, religious freedom and what was then a new legal form called amparo (English: protection). The 1847 Caste War caused the Republic of Yucatán to request military aid from Mexico. This was given on the condition that the Republic rejoin the Mexican Federation.
