The Museum for the Macedonian Struggle is located in the centre of the city Thessaloniki in Central Macedonia, Greece. It occupies a neo-classical building designed by the renowned architect Ernst Ziller and built in 1893. In its six ground-floor rooms the museum graphically illustrates the modern and contemporary history of Greek Macedonia. It presents the social, economic, political and military developments that shaped the presence of Hellenism in the region. This approach enables the visitor to form a global picture, not only of the revolutionary movements in the area, but also of the rapidly changing society of the southern Balkans and its agonizing struggles to balance between tradition and modernization.

The Olive and Oil Museum is a museum located in Elaiochori, a village in Eastern Macedonia, Greece, 25 km (16 mi) from the city of Kavala. It belongs to the Municipality of Paggaio since 2011 (see Kallikratis Programme) and it is one of its kind in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The museum, which opened in 2008, covers a total area of 3,000 m2 (32,000 sq ft). The aforementioned area contains a modern exhibition sector with an event room, open air theatre, tree-planted surrounding spaces and the old olive mill that has been fully renovated along with its mechanical equipment. The museum is housed in the building of the village's old oil press, which, since it began operating in 1950, contributed significantly to the development of the community and the western region of Kavala. The oil press was abandoned in 1970, but was recently rebuilt with funding from the Third Community Support Framework and is now owned by the Municipal Utility Company of Eleftherai (a.k.a. K.E.D.Ε.). The purpose of the museum is to help preserve tools of traditional olive cultivation, processing and distribution of oil of traditional art, as practiced in the region. All equipment is original, repaired and can function normally. Among others there are the crusher, the press, and the container-separator of olive oil from water. In the utility room, the one that was once used for administrative work, can be found tools for growing olives (e.g. secateurs, nets, etc.), a collection of panniers and items relevant to the extraction and storage of olive oil (see millstones, demijohns etc.). In the courtyard there is an exhibition of machinery for the classification of olives by size, and containers for the collection and storage of olive oil.

Nikis Avenue (Greek: Λεωφόρος Νίκης,Leofóros Níkis, trans. "Victory Avenue") is the central waterfront avenue in Thessaloniki, Greece. The three line eastward avenue stretches from Eleftherias Square in the west, in front of Aristotelous Square to the White Tower in the east, where it meets with Alexander the Great Avenue. Leoforos Nikis is the busiest, most famous, most photographed and most painted street in Thessaloniki and has the highest residential property value in the city, and among the highest residential and commercial property values in Southeastern Europe.Nikis Avenue is also very important commercially, as it is lined with numerous cafés, restaurants and businesses and is frequented by thousands of tourists and locals every day. The consulates of Switzerland , Spain, the Czech Republic, Cyprus and the Philippines are located along the avenue.

Design Museum of Thessaloniki was a design museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It collects items of industrial and graphic design. The Museum of Design was founded in 1993. It came about as a result of Stergios Delialis’ love of industrial design and useful objects which stand out because of their unique design. Until 1997 it was housed in ground floor premises on Mitropoleos Street. Then, it was meant to be moved to new premises in the Port of Thessaloniki, but the space was never granted to the museum, causing it to stop operating as a permanent museum space. Today it is still searching for a permanent home. It remains active by showcasing its collection in temporary exhibitions, film shows and lectures.The Museum of Design was the first place in Greece with a systematic approach to design. The core of the museum was its permanent collection of 2,000 objects representing industrial design in the 20th century. Classified according to subject matter (furnishing, lighting, domestic appliances, office equipment, graphics, packaging) the collection attempts to illustrate developments in perception, use, form, aesthetics and technology in the products of industrial design. There is also a library of 5000 books, plus magazines and catalogues on the subject of design.

The Longos Mansion (Greek: Μέγαρο Λόγγου), also known as the Red House (Κόκκινο Σπίτι) due to its red brick exterior, is a three-storey house in Agias Sofias Square in the center of Thessaloniki. It was designed in 1926 by architect Leonardo Gennari for the family of Grigorios Longos, a wealthy textile industrialist from Naousa, in the Neobyzantine style. He later gave it to his brother, Ioannis, which is why it is known as "Ioannis Longos mansion". In 1983, it was listed by the Greek Ministry of Culture for preservation.The company that undertook its construction went bankrupt a few months later and Longos' factory in Naousa was destroyed by a fire. As a result, rumors were created about suicides and ghosts in the abandoned mansion.Until 1992, there was a cafe called "Ermis" on the ground floor, frequented by retired teachers and professors. Today, in its place, there is a restaurant called "Kourdisto Gourouni" (meaning Clockwork Pig). In early 2014, Ivan Savvidis, the wealthy businessman and owner of football team PAOK FC, bought the house for four million euros. A store selling official PAOK merchandise operates there now.

Agias Sofias Square (Greek: Πλατεία Αγίας Σοφίας) is a square in the city of Thessaloniki in Greece.

The Consulate General of the United States in Thessaloniki is the focal point for events relating to the United States in northern Greece. The consulate is situated on the 7th floor of a new commercial office building at 43 Tsimiski Street in the city center. The consulate is headed by the Principal Officer and employs local hire individuals. Rebecca A. Fong is the 22nd Principal Officer as of August 2015.

The Baptistery of St. John the Baptist of Thessaloniki, considered as the oldest early Christian baptistery and assigned to the building complex of a five-aisled episcopal basilica of the fifth century.The baptistery was identified at the excavations of the Byzantine church of Hagia Sophia. It consists of a room with platforms and includes a font. It was in direct contact with the royal in the 5th century from the hallway with a mosaic floor.

Aristotelous Square (Greek: Πλατεία Αριστοτέλους, IPA: [plaˈtia aristoˈtelus], Aristotle Square) is the main city square of Thessaloniki, Greece and is located on Nikis avenue (on the city's waterfront), in the city center. It was designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918, but most of the square was built in the 1950s. Many buildings surrounding the central square have since been renovated and its northern parts were largely restored in the 2000s.The twelve buildings that make up Aristotelous Square have been listed buildings of the Hellenic Republic since 1950.

The Hagia Sophia (Greek: Ἁγία Σοφία, Holy Wisdom) is a church located in Thessaloniki, Greece. With its current structure dating from the 7th century, it is one of the oldest churches in the city still standing today. Because of its outstanding Byzantine art and architecture, in addition to its importance in early Christianity, it is one of several monuments in Thessaloniki listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

Aghia Sofia (Greek: Αγία Σοφία, literally Holy Wisdom) is an under-construction metro station serving Thessaloniki Metro's Line 1 and Line 2. The station is named after the church of Hagia Sophia, located nearby. It is expected to enter service in 2023 Construction of this station has been held back by major archaeological finds, and it is designated as a high-importance archaeological site by Attiko Metro, the company overseeing its construction. Here, as well as at Venizelou, Roman Thessaloniki's marble-clad and column-lined Decumanus Maximus (main east–west avenue), along with shops and houses, was found running along the route of the Via Egnatia (modern Egnatia Street) at 5.4 metres (18 ft) below ground level. Additionally, a public square was also found at this station. The discovery was so major that it delayed the entire Metro project for years. A historian dubbed the discovery "the Byzantine Pompeii". Aghia Sofia station will feature a mini museum within the station, similar to those of Athens Metro stations like Syntagma, which houses the Syntagma Metro Station Archaeological Collection. Unlike Venizelou, however, the archaeological finds will not be kept in situ; they will be disassembled and reassembled elsewhere. The station also appears in the 1988 Thessaloniki Metro proposal.

The Yad LeZikaron Synagogue (Hebrew: "קהל קדוש "יד לזכרון; Judaeo-Spanish: Kal Yad LeZikaron; Greek: Συναγωγή "Γιάδ Λεζικαρόν"), also known as Burla or Kal de la Plasa is a Orthodox Jewish congregation and synagogue of the Jewish community in Thessaloniki, Greece. The synagogue was opened in 1984, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
