Brejning railway station

Brejning is a railway town in Vejle Municipality, Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark, with a population of 3,149 (1 January 2026). It is located at the southern shore of Vejle Fjord 3 km northeast of Børkop. Brejning is located at the Fredericia–Aarhus railway line and is served by Brejning railway station. Brejning Church, designed in 1941 by architect Mogens Koch, was inaugurated in 1967 as an affiliated church in Gauerslund Parish. The parish church, Gauerslund Church, is located in the small village of Gauerslund about 2 km to the southwest between Brejning and Børkop. Kellers Park, an area on the northeastern outskirts of Brejning close to Vejle Fjord, is the location of the former headquarters of The Keller Institutions (De Kellerske Anstalter) for the mentally disabled, from 1899 to 1990. The premises is now converted into owner-occupied apartments, a hotel, a museum and an efterskole (continuation school).

Børkop is a railway town in Vejle Municipality, Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark. It is located at the railroad between the cities of Vejle and Fredericia and is served by Børkop railway station. It has a population of 6,361 (1 January 2026). Børkop was the municipal seat of the former Børkop Municipality, until 1 January 2007. The parish church Gauerslund Church is located about 1 km northeast of the railway station and serve as the church for both Børkop and the small village of Gauerslund. Børkop Watermill is a fully-functioning timber framed watermill, dating back to the sixteenth century, located at a small stream in the southeastern part of the town. By exploring the area around the watermill it is possible to find one of the wooden trolls, called "Ene Øjesten", made by the artist Thomas Dambo. Børkop Højskole, a Danish folk high school and a part of Indre Mission in Denmark, is located just north of the railway station.

Børkop railway station is a railway station serving the railway town of Børkop in East Jutland, Denmark. The station is located on the Fredericia–Aarhus railway line from Fredericia to Aarhus. It opened in 1868. It offers direct regional train services to Aarhus and Fredericia. The train services are operated by the national railway company DSB.

Andkær is a small town in Southern Jutland, Denmark. It is located eight kilometres to the south-east of Vejle. It is part of Vejle Municipality, and has a population of 360 (1 January 2022).

Until 1 January 2007, Børkop municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Vejle County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in southeast Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 103 km2, and had a total population of 11,478 (2005). Its last mayor was Leif Skov, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Børkop, which is located approximately halfway between the cities of Vejle and Fredericia. The municipality was created in 1970 due to a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that combined the following parishes: Gauerslund, Gårslev, Skærup, and Smidstrup parishes. Børkop municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Egtved, Give, Jelling, and Vejle municipalities to form a new Vejle municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 1,055 km2 and a total population of 82,935 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region of Southern Denmark.

Triangle Region Denmark (Danish: Trekantområdet [ˈtʁeːkand​ˌ⁠ɔ⁠mʁoðəd]) is a cooperation consisting of seven Danish municipalities on the Danish peninsula of Jutland and the island of Funen: Billund, Fredericia, Haderslev, Kolding, Middelfart, Vejen and Vejle. The Triangle Region began as the general term for the industrial and communications hubs of Kolding, Vejle and Fredericia in the early 1960s. The three cities (thus ‘triangle’) originally worked together to coordinate and collaborate locally, but have since expanded into a cooperation between seven municipalities, which together have 421,480 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2018) and cover an area of 4,266.0 km2. An area of political and economic stability, the Triangle Region is often regarded as Denmark’s third major region after Aarhus and Copenhagen. It has a reputation for having lower levels of pollution, crime and traffic problems than the big cities.

Vejle Idrætshøjskole is a Danish Folk high school, which mainly teaches sport. It was founded by Svend Aage Thomsen in 1943 under the name Den Jyske Idrætsskole. In 1998 the school changed name to its current name.

Vejle Fjord is an East Jutland-type fjord in Denmark. It is approximately 22 km (14 mi) in length, and it stretches east from the town of Vejle at its head to the towns of Trelde Næs on the south side and Juelsminde on the north side at the mouth. The fjord's generally calm surface waters are surrounded by low forested hills shaped by glaciers during the last ice age. Public works projects have re-shaped the small rivers and countryside surrounding the fjord since the Middle Ages. Highway E45 crosses the fjord just east of the town of Vejle on the Vejle Fjord Bridge. A 2022 report by the University of Southern Denmark found that fjord was in a "poor environmental condition" due to high levels of nitrogen run-off from fertiliser use on farms. On 6 April 2024, an open air "funeral" attended by around 1,000 people were organized and held by Greenpeace and other local and environmental groups to decry the fjord's state.

Vejle Fjord Bridge (Danish: Vejlefjordbroen) is a cantilever bridge that spans Vejle Fjord between Mølholm and Nørremarken near the town of Vejle in Denmark. The bridge is 1712 metres long, the longest span is 110 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 40 metres. The bridge has 15 spans and carries the European route E45 (before 1992 European route E3) over the fjord. Vejle Fjord Bridge was built to lead traffic past the town of Vejle, where traffic congestion had become a problem in the 1970s. The building started in 1975, and the bridge was opened on July 1, 1980. It cost 350 million kroner. The bridge now has more traffic than any other motorway bridge in Denmark (if not counting short viaducts near Copenhagen such as the Tåstrupvej viaduct)

Vejle River (Danish: Vejle Å, also called Sønderåen, "South River") is an approximately 32-kilometre-long (20 mi) river in Vejle Municipality in Denmark. Its source is Engelsholm Lake near the village of Nørup. It first runs south to converge with the Egtved River near the village of Egtved, then flows northeast for 20 kilometres (12 mi) through the Vejle River Valley (Danish: Vejle Ådal) until it reaches the city of Vejle. There, the river meets the Grejs River and then empties into Vejle Fjord. Vejle River Valley and Vejle Fjord together form the longest tunnel valley in eastern Jutland. The lower river has an urban character where it runs through downtown Vejle, while the upper river is rural and is used for fishing and recreation.

Bølgen (Danish "The Wave") is a modern residential building complex by the Skyttehus bay in Vejle, Denmark. It is inspired by the Sydney Opera House by Danish architect Jørn Utzon and the hilly landscape around Vejle Fjord.The Wave in Vejle is designed by Henning Larsen Architects and contains ultimately 105 luxury apartments distributed on 14,000 square metres (150,000 sq ft).It has been named as a ground-breaking architecture piece in modern times and a significant landmark of Vejle.
