As-Salt Secondary School (Arabic: مدرسة السلط الثانوية), often regarded as the mother of Jordanian schools, is a historic institution closely linked to the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan. The foundation stone was laid by King Abdullah I in 1923. Construction continued until 1925, when the first floor was completed. It is considered to be the oldest high school in Jordan. The school has since produced numerous notable Jordanian public figures, including five prime ministers, over forty ministers, university presidents, and college deans.

As-Salt (Arabic: السلط As-Salt), also known as Salt, is an ancient trading city and administrative centre in west-central Jordan. It is on the old main highway leading from Amman to Jerusalem. Situated in the Balqa highland, about 790–1,100 metres above sea level, the city is built in the crook of three hills, close to the Jordan Valley. One of the three hills, Jabal al-Qal'a, is the site of a 13th-century ruined fortress. It is the capital of Balqa Governorate of Jordan. The Greater Salt Municipality has about 107,874 inhabitants (2018). In 2021, the city of Salt was inscribed at the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Al-Balqaʼ Applied University (BAU) (Arabic جامعة البلقاء التطبيقية) is a government-supported university located in Salt, Jordan, was founded in 1997, a distinctive state university in the field of Bachelor and associate degree Applied Education, at the capacity of more than 21,000 student distributed into 10,000 at the bachelor's degree program and 11,000 at the associate degree program. Balqa' Applied University was formed by merging several colleges distributed over almost all of the Jordanian provinces. The merger was the result of royal decree, under the auspices of his majesty the late King Hussein to provide qualified professionals who focus on applied technical studies. BAU was ranked 5th on national level, and achieved an international ranking of 2575 and a regional ranking of 55 according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities ranking, as well as a regional ranking of 79 according to US News Education.

Fuheis (Arabic: الفحيص) is a Christian majority town in the central Jordanian governorate of Balqa. It lies in Wadi Shueib between Salt and Amman, at a distance of 6 and 13 kilometers respectively. The population of Fuheis was estimated to be 21,908 in 2021, 87% are Jordanian citizens, 95% are Christians, and with a male-to-female ratio of 52:48. According to a national census in 2015, the population was 18,916, there were 4,658 households in the town with an average of 4.06 persons per household, lower than the national average of 4.82 persons per household. The population of Fuheis increases in the summer, as many of the town's residents who have emigrated to the United States and Europe return for their summer vacations. The town's elevation renders it cool enough to spend the summer comfortably.Fuheis is also famous for its traditional habits from singing and dancing (dabke), and for depending on its farms.

The Maqam Nabi Yusha' (Arabic: مقام النبي يوشع) is a mausoleum and mosque complex located in the city of As-Salt, in the governorate of Balqa, Jordan. The 16th-century mausoleum purportedly contains the tomb of the biblical Joshua. The mosque was completed in 2004.

Mahis (Arabic: ماحص, romanized: Māḥis, alternatively spelled Mahas) is a town in the Balqa Governorate northwest from the governorate's capital Salt, and 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) west of Amman. Its population was 17,754 in 2015. Most of the population of Mahis descends from the Abbadi tribe. (Arabic: العبادي). The mountainous town is located at over 800 meters (2,600 ft), with views on the Jordan Valley, West Bank with Jerusalem's walls visible on the horizon. Mahis is known for its orchards and its numerous water fountains and springs, notably the Fountain of Mahis.

Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS) is a theological seminary in Amman, Jordan. It was founded in 1991 by Imad Shehadeh, who continues to serve as President. It is accredited by the Asia Theological Association, and offers Bachelor of Theology, Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, Master of Divinity, and Master of Theology degrees.

Al Hummar (Arabic: الحمر) is a town in the Amman Governorate of north-western Jordan.

Bilal is a town in the Amman Governorate of north-western Jordan.

Sweileh (Arabic: صويلح, romanized: Ṣuwayliḥ, alternatively spelled Suwaylih, Swaylih or Swaileh) is district number sixteen in Amman, Jordan out of twenty-seven. It lies to the north of the city center. It was founded by Chechen settlers in 1906 during Ottoman rule. It had a population of 151,016 in the 2015 census. The town is known for having a good climate throughout the year, it is one of the few districts of Amman that sees snow during winter due to its high altitude. The cultivation of olives and grapes, heavy industries, such as auto assembly, steel, and cement, make up the local economy. Today, it is considered one of Amman's most populated districts since it has the University of Jordan and is a connection point to other cities such as Salt, Irbid and Jarash.

Ain Al-Basha is a Jordanian town in Balqa Governorate, located about 20 kilometers northwest of the capital, Amman. Highway 35, which connects Amman with Jerash, runs through Ain Al-Basha. The Baqa'a refugee camp, which was set up in 1968 and is the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan, is located near Ain Al-Basha. It was one of six camps set up to shelter refugees fleeing from the Palestinian territories during the 1967 Arab–Israeli war.

King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque, better known as the King Hussein Mosque, is the largest mosque in Jordan. Not to be confused with the 1924 Grand Al-Husseini Mosque, also known as King Hussein Mosque, in Downtown Amman. King Hussein Mosque was built in 2005 in the reign of King Abdullah II in West Amman, specifically in Al Hussein Public Parks at King Abdullah II Street near King Hussein Medical Center. The mosque is located at an altitude of 1,013 metres (3,323 ft) above sea level and can thus be seen from most parts of Amman. It is square and features four minarets and marble floors.In 2012, King Abdullah opened the Museum of the Prophet (Arabic: متحف الرسول, Matḥaf ar-Rusūl), which houses a number of relics associated with the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
