New Boston Village Historic District

The New Boston Inn is a historic inn at 101 North Main Street, the junction of Massachusetts Routes 8 and 57 in the center of the New Boston village of Sandisfield, Massachusetts. With a construction history dating back to c. 1750, it is one of the oldest buildings in the town, and a prominent local example of Federal period architecture. It has served as a traveler accommodation of some sort for over two centuries. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Montville Baptist Church, now known as the Sandisfield Arts Center, is an historic former Baptist church and Orthodox Jewish synagogue at 5 Hammertown Road in Sandisfield, Massachusetts. The Greek Revival building was constructed in 1839 as a Baptist church. After 83 years as a Baptist church meeting house, the building was converted into use as an Orthodox synagogue for 75 years. In 1995 the Sandisfield Arts Center formed as a non-profit to preserve the building. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Clark Island is an island of Massachusetts, located in the Otis Reservoir in Tolland State Forest.

Tolland State Forest is a publicly owned forest with recreational features covering 4,415 acres (1,787 ha) in the towns of Otis, Tolland, Blandford and Sandisfield in the southern Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. The state forest centers on the 1,065-acre (431 ha) Otis Reservoir, the largest body of water for recreational use in western Massachusetts. The forest is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Sandisfield is a town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 989 at the 2020 census.

Otis Reservoir is a 1,085-acre (4 km2) reservoir located primarily in Otis, Massachusetts, United States. Small portions are also in Tolland, MA, and Blandford, MA. The lake is popular for boating, swimming, fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling, camping, and water-related recreation. Fish include bass, white perch, yellow perch, tiger muskies, catfish, and bluegills. The reservoir is stocked with trout by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife.The current lake was formed from the flooding of three ponds, Rand, Little and Msssenger Ponds in 1865, by a dam across the Fall River, a tributary of the Farmington River created by the Farmington River Power Company. It was used for water storage, ensuring a steady supply of water power for mills along the Farmington River. In the early part of the twentieth century, the rise of the automobile led to the development of many seasonal cottages along the lake shore. Building took place along most of the lake shore and on many inland lots. These cottages were fairly inexpensive, being purchased by middle-class people: bankers, barbers, tradesmen, construction contractors, and others. A trend that accelerated in the 1980s was for wealthy people to purchase cottages and upgrade or replace them with expensive second homes. This trend continues. Many people from Connecticut and New York use these as weekend or vacation homes. In addition, many have converted their cottages into year-round residences. Tolland State Forest, a popular camping, boat launch, and swimming area occupies about a quarter of the shoreline. A private campground, Camp Overflow, is also located on the reservoir. A small marina, D&J Marina, also run a boat launch facility on the north side of the lake. The water level is seasonal, being lowered by about 10 feet (3.0 m) over the winter. The reservoir fills in the spring from snow melt and underground springs. The lake is usually at full level by late spring, but in the occasional years of low snow melt and low rainfall, it may remain up to several feet below its typical level. Water is let out of the lake in the fall so that ice will not damage docks and other structures around the lake. This also leads to excellent water quality, as a significant portion of the water is replaced every year.

Camp Nawaka was a non-profit co-ed residential summer camp located in the Berkshires, East Otis, Massachusetts. The property was formerly a boys' swimming camp known as Camp Aquatic, which operated during the 1940s and closed in the mid-1950s. Nawaka opened in 1967 and closed following the summer of 2009. Nawaka offered sessions for children between the ages of 8 and 16. The camp was owned and run by Camp Fire. It was a small camp of approximately 40 staff members and up to 120 campers, the last director was Nicole, and some of the last counselors included Andrew, AJ, Mike, Pam, and Brian (Dukie). The camp centered on its own 16-acre (65,000 m2) private pond, Larkum Pond. The camp ran from the end of June until the end of August. The last session was called color week where the camp was split into two competing teams, this week was often the most popular. The facility was available to rent during late spring and early fall. Campers aged 13–15 were able to sign up for the "Senior Camp" program, where they slept in tents and often traveled outside of the camp. Another option was "Adventure Camp," where campers slept in cabins or dorms (for younger campers.) Nawaka campers developed a strong attachment, returned for multiple years, and remained active as adult alumni.

Camp Rising Sun in Colebrook, Connecticut, is a non-profit overnight camp for children with cancer that is held for one week during the summer and one weekend in the winter. The camp, which is staffed by volunteer counselors, does not charge campers to attend. It is staffed by a volunteer medical staff, including Dr. Joe McNamara, a pediatric oncologist and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine.

The Philemon Sage House is a historic house at 69 Sandy Brook Turnpike (Massachusetts Route 183) in Sandisfield, Massachusetts. Built in 1799 and enlarged in 1827, it is a good local example of Federal period architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Arah Phelps Inn is a historic house and traveler accommodation at Prock Hill Road and Connecticut Route 183 in Colebrook, Connecticut. Built in 1787, it is one Colebrook's oldest surviving buildings, and served as a fixture on the main Hartford-Albany stagecoach route for many years. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It is now a private residence.

The Phelps Farm Historic District encompasses a collection of farm and residential properties on Connecticut Route 183 and Prock Hill Road in Colebrook, Connecticut. This area is a virtually intact mid-19th century farmstead, with its land under a single family's ownership since the 18th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

East Otis is part of the town of Otis in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. As of the 2000 census, East Otis had a total population of 572.
