The Diocese of Allentown (Latin: Diœcesis Alanpolitana) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania in the United States. It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The mother church of the Diocese of Allentown is the Cathedral Church of Saint Catharine of Siena Allentown. As of 2023, the bishop of Allentown is Alfred A. Schlert. The Diocese of Allentown covers Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton and Schuylkill counties. It has a Catholic population of 258,997 as of 2015, approximately 20.4% of the total population. The diocese maintains 80 parishes, 30 Catholic elementary schools, and seven Catholic high schools.

It is the third-most-populous city in Pennsylvania with a population of 125,845 as of the 2020 census and the largest city in the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the nation as of 2020.Founded in 1762, Allentown is located on the Lehigh River, a 109-mile-long (175 km) tributary of the Delaware River. It is the largest of three adjacent cities, including Bethlehem and Easton in Lehigh and Northampton counties, in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. Allentown is located 48 miles (77 km) north of Philadelphia and 78 miles (126 km) west of New York City.

Hamilton Street is a major thoroughfare and historic street in the Center City section of Allentown, Pennsylvania. The street dates back to 1762, when Allentown's founder, William Allen, included it as one of the first of several streets to be constructed in the city.The street is named for James Hamilton, who served as the mayor of Philadelphia from 1745 to 1746, and two terms as deputy governor of the colonial-era Province of Pennsylvania, from 1759 to 1763, and 1748 to 1754.

The Allentown Parking Authority is responsible for both off and on-street parking within the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania.The Allentown Parking Authority owns and manages five parking garages in Center City Allentown and leases 29 surface lots plus one parking ramp which make up a total of over 4,020 parking spaces. The Allentown Parking Authority is responsible for the enforcement of both City and State parking regulations, by way of parking tickets, towing, wheel booting, and impounding vehicles. The Allentown Parking Authority currently regulates over 1,500 parking meters in the city.

The Dime Savings and Trust Company, also known as the First Valley Bank, is an historic bank building located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1925, and is a T-shaped, five-story red brick building. The base is sheathed in limestone, and the distinctive brick and limestone attic level is reflective of the Art Deco style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The PPL Center is an 8,500 seat capacity indoor sports arena in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It opened on September 10, 2014. It is the home arena for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League, the primary development hockey team for the Philadelphia Flyers. The arena also hosts major concerts, sports, and entertainment events throughout the year.

The Hotel Allen was a hotel in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was demolished in 1956.

The Zollinger-Harned Company Building, now known as The Sovereign Building, is a historic department store building on Hamilton Street in the Center City section of Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The High German Evangelical Reformed Church, also known as Zion Reformed and Zion United Church of Christ, is an historic Evangelical and Reformed church, located at 622 West Hamilton Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. During the American Revolutionary War, the church was selected as the site to hide and protect the Liberty Bell from seizure as British troops prepared the Philadelphia campaign, designed to attack and occupy the revolutionary capital in Philadelphia. The Liberty Bell was hidden beneath floor boards in the church for nine months, from September 1777 until the British ultimately departed Philadelphia in June 1778. Until 2023, the church houseed the Liberty Bell Museum, established to honor the role that Allentown and Lehigh Valley-area American patriots played in successfully guarding America's national symbol of freedom.

The Liberty Bell Museum, also the Liberty Bell Shrine Museum was a non-profit organization and museum located in Zion's United Church of Christ, formerly Zion's Reformed Church, in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. The museum was located in the basement of the church, where the Liberty Bell, an iconic and globally-recognized symbol of America's independence and freedom, was hidden from the British Army by Allentown-area American patriots during the American Revolutionary War from September 1777 to June 1778. The museum was constructed and opened in 1962, and included exhibits relating to the Liberty Bell and subjects including liberty, freedom, patriotism and local history. It also contained a full-size replica of the Liberty Bell, one of 55 replicas cast in France in 1950, for a U.S. Treasury Department savings bond promotion, which visitors were permitted to ring. Also on display was Allentown's Liberty Bell, which was cast in 1769, and was believed to have been rung on July 8, 1776, to announce the public reading in Allentown of the Declaration of Independence.

The Allentown National Bank, originally named the Allentown Bank, is an historic bank building located on Centre Square in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1905, the building is a large eight-story, steel frame and masonry-clad structure in the Beaux-Arts style. Abandoned during the 1990s, it was re-developed into apartments for independent living senior citizens in the early 2000s. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Americus Hotel is an historic hotel, which is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Built between 1926 and 1927, it is a 13-story yellow brick building located 541 West Hamilton Street in Center City Allentown.The hotel has a classic 1920s Jazz Age design and was built by a group of Allentown businessmen who wanted to erect a first-class hotel in Center City Allentown, the city's central business district.In 1984, in recognition of its historic significance, the hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel also has been named one of the nation's Historic Hotels of America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
