The school of architecture of Nancy (French: École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Nancy, also called EAN) is one of the twenty public schools of architecture in France, located at 2 rue Bastien-Lepage in Nancy. Created in 1969, the school depends on the French ministry for the Culture and the Communication since 1996.

École nationale supérieure en génie des systèmes et de l'innovation (ENSGSI) a French engineering College created in 1993. The school trains engineers with in organizational engineering, design engineering, innovation, management of complex projects. Located in Nancy, the ENSGSI is a public higher education institution. The school is a member of the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine.

The Jardin Dominique Alexandre Godron is a historic botanical garden located at 3 rue Sainte-Catherine, Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. It is open daily without charge. The garden was founded in 1758 by Stanisław Leszczyński, the last Duke of Lorraine, as an adjunct to the Royal College of Medicine. It occupies 27 hectares (67 acres). It is the city's oldest botanical garden, and remained active as such until 1993 when its collections were transferred to the larger Jardin botanique du Montet outside the central city. It was named in honor of celebrated local botanist Dominique Alexandre Godron (1807-1880), who redesigned and reinvigorated the garden during his tenure as director, and now displays horticultural collections in its long, narrow beds.

The Aquarium Museum of Nancy (French: Muséum-aquarium de Nancy, MAN), is a heritage establishment of scientific and technical culture jointly managed by the Métropole du Grand Nancy and the University of Lorraine.This natural history museum includes zoological and paleontological collections as well as living collections, mainly ichthyological. The Aquarium Museum is made up of two storeys. On the ground floor, there are three aquariums, the Nautilus and Calypso galleries, as well as the boat room. At the end of the Nautilus gallery, the Astrolabe gallery hosts temporary exhibits of contemporary artists. The Cuénor amphitheatre is also on the ground floor. The zoology gallery as well as two other spaces for exhibits are on the first floor.

The National School of Rural Engineering, Water Resources and Forestry (École nationale du génie rural, des eaux et des forêts, or ENGREF), was a department of Agro ParisTech for foresters and students of the Corps of Bridges, Waters and Forests, that was still an independent institution up until 2006.It was created in 1964, from the merger of the French National School of Forestry (École nationale des eaux et forêts, or National School of Water Resources and Forestry) and the National School of Rural Engineering (École nationale du génie rural) and became part of AgroParisTech (Institut des sciences et industries du vivant et de l’environnement, or Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences) in 2006.

The French National School of Forestry (École nationale des eaux et forêts, or National School of Water Resources and Forestry), established in Nancy, France, in 1824, was the first national training institute for foresters in France, and a premier early school of forestry in Europe and globally. In 1964, it was merged into the National School of Rural Engineering, Water Resources and Forestry (École nationale du génie rural, des eaux et des forêts, or ENGREF), which in turn became part of AgroParisTech (Institut des sciences et industries du vivant et de l’environnement, or Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences) in 2006.

The Diocese of Nancy and Toul (Latin: Dioecesis Nanceiensis et Tullensis; French: Diocèse de Nancy et de Toul) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in France. After a considerable political struggle between Louis XV, Louis XVI, and the Dukes of Lorraine, the diocese was erected by Pope Pius VI on 17 December 1777. The Diocese of Nancy is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Besançon.

Nancy Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Annonciation et Saint-Sigisbert; Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation and St. Sigisbert) is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Nancy, Lorraine, France. It was erected in the 18th century. The cathedral is in the Baroque architectural style. It is a national monument and the seat of the Bishop of Nancy and Toul.

Nancy is the prefecture of the northeastern French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle. It was the capital of the Duchy of Lorraine, which was annexed by France under King Louis XV in 1766 and replaced by a province, with Nancy maintained as capital. Following its rise to prominence in the Age of Enlightenment, it was nicknamed the "capital of Eastern France" in the late 19th century. Place Stanislas, a large square built between 1752 and 1756 by architect Emmanuel Héré under the direction of Stanislaus I of Poland to link the medieval old town of Nancy and the new city built under Charles III, Duke of Lorraine in the 17th century, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first square in France to be given this distinction. The city also has many buildings listed as historical monuments and is one of the European centres of Art Nouveau thanks to the École de Nancy. Nancy is also a large university city; with the Centre Hospitalier Régional Universitaire de Brabois, the conurbation is home to one of the main health centres in Europe, renowned for its innovations in surgical robotics.

The Battle of Nancy in September 1944 was a 10-day battle on the Western Front of World War II in which the Third United States Army defeated German forces defending the approaches to Nancy, France and crossings over the Moselle River to the north and south of the city. The battle resulted in U.S. forces fighting their way across the Moselle and liberating Nancy.

The Hôtel de Ville (French pronunciation: [otɛl də vil], City Hall), also known as the Stanislas Palace, is a historic building in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, northeastern France, standing on the Place Stanislas. It was designated a monument historique by the French government in 1886.

Métropole du Grand Nancy is the métropole, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Nancy. It is located in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, in the Grand Est region, northeastern France. It was created in July 2016, replacing the previous Communauté urbaine du Grand Nancy. Its area is 142.3 km2. Its population was 257,431 in 2018, of which 104,885 in Nancy proper.
