Newport is a census-designated place in York County, South Carolina. Most of Newport is annexed into the city of Rock Hill, while parts are still located in unincorporated York County, but Newport is still considered to be a census-designated place. The census of 2010 showed the population to be 4,136. During the 2000 Census, the population was 4,033.

Ebenezer Academy is a historic school building located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built about 1860, and is a one-story, rectangular brick structure of simple design. The school was originally associated with Ebenezer Presbyterian Church until Rock Hill public schools were established about 1888 and was leased to York County for an elementary school. The school continued until 1950 when it was deeded back to the church. It is the oldest known school building standing in York County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

It is owned and operated by the City of Rock Hill, but York County is also represented on the Airport Commission.The airport was originally referred to as Bryant Field, after South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame inductee Robert E. Bryant, but the name has since been dropped to avoid confusion with Bryant Field in California. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Rock Hill/York County Airport is assigned UZA by the FAA and RKH by the IATA.

Rock Hill Body Company, originally known as Victoria Yarn Mill # 2, is a historic industrial building located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built about 1915, and is a two-story brick industrial building built as a textile mill. Later modifications include a one-story office addition and an elevator tower addition on the rear. It was the home of the Rock Hill Body Company, one of the earliest makers of truck bodies and school bus bodies in South Carolina, from 1938 to 1986.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Mount Prospect Baptist Church is a historic church at 339 W. Black Street in Rock Hill, South Carolina.It was built in 1915 and added to the National Register in 1992.

Clinton College is a private historically black Christian college in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools.

Afro-American Insurance Company Building is a historic commercial building located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built about 1909, and is a two-story, brick commercial building. The façade has a tan brick veneer, while the sides and rear are in red brick. It is an important surviving example of a commercial building related to the African-American community of the early-20th century.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
