Emerson Junior-Senior High School

Emerson is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, a suburb in the New York City metropolitan area. Emerson is the most southern municipality in an area of the county known as the Pascack Valley. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 7,290, a decrease of 111 (−1.5%) from the 2010 census count of 7,401, which in turn reflected an increase of 204 (+2.8%) from the 7,197 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 267 (+3.9%) from the 6,930 counted in the 1990 Census.What is now Emerson was originally formed on April 8, 1903, from portions of Washington Township as the Borough of Etna, the name of a railroad station in the community. The name was changed to Emerson as of March 9, 1909. The name came from author Ralph Waldo Emerson. The borough calls itself "The Family Town".

Pascack Valley Medical Center formerly known as Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley is a full-service boutique hospital located in Westwood, New Jersey, at the site of the former Pascack Valley Hospital. Owned 35% by Hackensack University Medical Center (HackensackUMC) and 65% by Ardent Health Services, HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley serves the Pascack Valley and Northern Valley communities in northern Bergen County. In 2021 it was given a grade A by the Leapfrog patient safety organization.

Emerson is an active commuter railroad station in the borough of Emerson, Bergen County, New Jersey. The station, serviced by trains of the Pascack Valley Line from Spring Valley in Rockland County, New York to Hoboken Terminal in Hudson County, New Jersey, is located at the intersection of Kinderkamack Road (County Route 503) and Linwood Avenue in Emerson. The next station to the north is Westwood while the next to the south is Oradell. The station has a single track and single low-level side platform along Kinderkamack Road, without handicap accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Rail service through Emerson began on March 4, 1870, with the opening of the Hackensack and New York Extension Railroad from Anderson Street station in Hackensack to Hillsdale station in the eponymous borough. At the time of opening, the station was known as Kinderkamack. The area of Kinderkamack changed its name to Etna in 1877 when the post office changed. This changed in 1909 to Emerson.

The Emerson School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Emerson, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising three schools, had an enrollment of 1,139 students and 98.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.5:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. Pascack Brook County Park, 137 acre (55.4 hectare) county park, is located on Emerson Road in Westwood, New Jersey, about a mile (1.6 km) east of Westwood (NJT station) and half a mile upstream from the mouth of Pascack Brook. From intersection of Old Hook Road and Emerson Road, travel north on Emerson Road - entrance is on the left (west side of Emerson Road).

The 18-hole private golf course at Haworth Country Club officially opened in 1965 is located in Haworth, New Jersey. Re-designed by the golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 2000, the course length is 7000 yards. The course has five sets of tees and over four acres of teeing ground. Other amenities include grass driving range, seven indoor tennis courts, gourmet restaurant, bar, and meeting rooms. Haworth Country Club is located 10.5 miles from the George Washington Bridge, and is in a deciduous forest behind the reservoir.

Westwood (known as "The Hub of the Pascack Valley") is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Westwood is part of the New York metropolitan area. Many of its residents regularly commute to New York City for work and leisure, many using public transportation. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 11,282, an increase of 374 (+3.4%) from the 2010 census count of 10,908, which in turn reflected a decline of 91 (−0.8%) from the 10,999 counted in the 2000 census.Westwood was officially incorporated as a borough on May 8, 1894, from portions of Washington Township, early during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 boroughs were formed in the county in 1894 alone. Isaac D. Bogert served as the first mayor of the borough. In April 1909, Westwood was enlarged through the annexation of the "Old Hook" section of the borough of Emerson, and on September 24, 1957, portions of the borough were exchanged with Emerson.

Haworth ( HAH-worth) is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 3,343, a decrease of 39 (−1.2%) from the 2010 census count of 3,382, which in turn reflected a decline of 8 (−0.2%) from the 3,390 counted at the 2000 census.Haworth was formed by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 24, 1904, from portions of both Dumont borough and Harrington Township. The borough was named for the historic village of Haworth, England.In September 2012, Business Insider named Haworth the third-best suburb in America.

The Oradell Reservoir Dam, known as the Oradell Dam, is a dam in Oradell, New Jersey located at the southern tip of the Oradell Reservoir, connecting it to the Lower Hackensack River, which flows south to the Newark Bay. It ranges from 25 to 50 feet (7.6 to 15.2 m) from the top to the surface of the river, depending on tide, and it is 402 feet (123 m) long. The dam is primarily used for flood control to dam the reservoir. Directly to the south is the Oradell Avenue road bridge that crosses the Hackensack River. The closest bridge northwards is the Old Hook Road (CR 502) bridge which is in the northern area of the reservoir.
