The Huntington Beach Energy Project (HBEP), formerly AES Huntington Beach, is a natural gas-fired power station located in Huntington Beach, California.

Pacific Beach Club was a planned resort in Orange County, California for African Americans. The beachfront clubhouse, bathhouse, and pavilion were planned in 1925 and construction nearing completion the next year when the property burned down under mysterious circumstances. The resort was located outside Huntington Beach.

Edison High School is a public high school located in Huntington Beach, California which first began operation in 1969. It is a part of the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Edison is a California Distinguished School. The graduation rate at Edison is 94%. Thirty-three percent of Edison graduates attend a four-year university and 61% attend community college or trade school. Twenty five total AP, Honors, and Accelerated level courses are offered at Edison. Edison is a largely sports-centered high school, with 30 CIF championships and 255 League championships.

Huntington State Beach is a protected beach in Southern California, located in the City of Huntington Beach in Orange County. It extends 2 miles (3.2 km) from Newport Beach (Santa Ana River) north to Beach Boulevard, where the Huntington City Beach begins. The 121-acre (49 ha) park was established in 1942.This beach is a popular destination for many beach enthusiasts. This beach has moderate to good surf, fishing, volleyball courts, basketball courts, bathrooms, and fire-rings for bonfires. Lifeguard Services at Huntington State Beach are provided by the California State Parks Lifeguard Service. Lifeguards patrol the beach year-round while lifeguard towers are staffed roughly Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The beach also provides a nesting sanctuary for California least terns, an endangered subspecies, and snowy plovers, a threatened species on the West Coast.

The Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort is a 290-room hotel and resort located in Huntington Beach, California. It is a AAA Four Diamond hotel. The hotel is owned by Robert Mayer Corp., an Irvine-based family-operated company.

Brethren Christian was a private Christian middle school and high school located in Huntington Beach, California. It was situated on a 15-acre (61,000 m2) site leased from the Huntington Beach City School District, formerly the site of Gisler Middle School. The school was independently operated and controlled by a board of directors. Due to financial troubles, the school eventually dropped its middle school and relocated to the campus of Grace Lutheran Church. The school permanently closed in 2020 following a large deficit and a 64% drop in enrollment.

The Pacific Airshow is an annual airshow held in Huntington Beach, California. The first Pacific Airshow (first called the Breitling Huntington Beach Airshow, then later The Great Pacific Airshow) took place in 2016, attracting hundreds of thousands to Huntington Beach for a display of aviation skill and military might soaring over the beach in Southern California. Spanning over three days, the Airshow features the best in military and civilian flight demonstrations from international teams, including past performances by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Royal Air Force Red Arrows and Canadian Forces Snowbirds. In only five years, Pacific Airshow has twice been named Civilian Airshow of the Year by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and in 2019 named among the Top 5 Air Shows by USA Today’s 10Best. The event has become the cornerstone of the fall calendar for residents and visitors from as far away as Europe and Asia while delivering a more than $105 million economic impact to the City of Huntington Beach alone and even broader economic benefits to the County of Orange and Southern California.The air show in 2020 was canceled due to public health concerns associated with the COVID-19 outbreak. The third and final day of the event was cancelled in response to the 2021 Orange County oil spill

The Santa Ana River is the largest river entirely within Southern California in the United States. It rises in the San Bernardino Mountains and flows for most of its length through San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, before cutting through the northern Santa Ana Mountains via Santa Ana Canyon and flowing southwest through urban Orange County to drain into the Pacific Ocean. The Santa Ana River is 96 miles (154 km) long, and its drainage basin is 2,650 square miles (6,900 km2) in size. The Santa Ana drainage basin has a diversity of terrain, ranging from high peaks of inland mountains in the north and east, to the hot, dry interior and semi-desert basins of the Inland Empire, to the flat coastal plain of Orange County. Although it includes areas of alpine and highland forest, the majority of the watershed consists of arid desert and chaparral environments. Due to low regional rainfall, the river carries only a small flow except during the brief winter season, when it is prone to massive flash floods. The San Jacinto River, which drains the southern half of the watershed, rarely reaches the Santa Ana except in extremely wet years. A wide variety of animal and plant communities depend on the riparian zones and remnant wetlands along the Santa Ana River. Humans have lived on the Santa Ana River for at least 9,000 years. In the period immediately before and during European colonization, there were four distinct indigenous groups in the area. The river was first seen by Europeans in 1769, when it received its name from members of the Spanish Portola expedition. Because it was one of the only reliable sources of water in a wide region, many large ranchos developed along the river and one of its major tributaries, Santiago Creek. After the area became part of the United States, the economy transitioned to agriculture, before urbanizing in the 20th century. Many cities established during this time including Santa Ana, Riverside and Anaheim derived their names from the river. In order to protect urban areas from the river's flood threat, major channelization and damming projects were undertaken in the 20th century, resulting in the loss of much of the natural river channel.

The International Surfing Museum is a non-profit, 501(c) museum in Huntington Beach, Orange County, California. The museum's goal is to preserve the history of the surfing culture throughout the globe. It is dedicated to Duke Kahanamoku, who is generally regarded as the person who popularized the modern sport of surfing.The International Surfing Museum displays historic surfboards, provides information about legendary surfers, and shows classic surf films. Visitors can examine artistic surfing sculptures and hear surf music. Admission to the museum is currently $2 per visitor. The museum moved and opened in the 411 Olive Avenue location in June 1990. It was established in 1987 by Ann Beasley and Natalie Kotsch. In 1998 Ann Beasley and Natalie Kotsch were added to the Honor Roll, which "was created to honor those individuals who have contributed to surfing and it's [sic] culture and are deserving of recognition, but might not qualify to receive a stone on the [Surfing] Walk of Fame. Honor Roll recipients are selected by the Surfing Walk of Fame Board of Directors."

The Huntington Beach Public Library on Triangle Park, also known as the Main Street Branch Library, is located on Triangle Park, 525 Main Street, in the City of Huntington Beach, California. The Main Street Branch Library is one of four branch libraries for the City of Huntington Beach Public Library system and, along with Triangle Park, is one of the 122 historic properties and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Orange County, California. Both the Main Street Branch Library and Triangle Park were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 13, 2013, by the United States Department of the Interior, Reference Number 13000157.

The 1933 Long Beach earthquake took place on March 10 at 5:54 P.M. PST south of downtown Los Angeles. The epicenter was offshore, southeast of Long Beach, California, on the Newport–Inglewood Fault. The earthquake had a magnitude estimated at 6.4 Mw, and a maximum Mercalli intensity of VIII (Severe). Damage to buildings was widespread throughout Southern California. It resulted in 115 to 120 fatalities and an estimated forty million dollars' worth of property damage, equivalent to $837 million in 2021. The majority of the fatalities resulted from people running out of buildings exposing themselves to the falling debris.

The Surf Theatre was a movie theater along the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California. It originally opened as Scott's Theatre in 1925 and later operated as the Roxy Theatre beginning in 1937. In 1941, the venue was renamed the Surf Theatre, an identity under which it became notable for its screening of surf films until its closure in the 1980s. The M. Eugene Durfee-designed Art Deco building was demolished in 1989.
