Al Badiah (Riyadh)

Qaṣr al-Badi'ah (Arabic: قصر البديعة, romanized: Qaṣr al-Badi'ah) is a royal palace in the al-Badi'ah neighbourhood in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was erected outside the old town in the 1930s at the behest of King Ibn Saud. The building stands on the bank of Wadi Hanifa. It served as a guesthouse for visiting dignitaries and the king's summer residence.

King Saud Medical City (KSMC), also known as Shemaisi Hospital, is a large public district general hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1956 and is one of the largest tertiary care centers in Saudi Arabia, with a total bed capacity of 1,500 including 200 ICU beds. The 102-bed emergency department is the busiest in the country, and the hospital serves as the largest referral center in Saudi Arabia for Orthopedic surgery, Trauma surgery and Neurosurgery. It is part of the first healthcare cluster in the city of Riyadh, and currently employs 9,200 healthcare personnel. The hospital has a tremendously high patient turnover, both outpatient and inpatient, and conducted over 20,000 surgical procedures in 2019 alone.KSMC is also one of the largest medical education, training and research centers in Saudi Arabia, with postgraduate residency and specialist training programs in medicine and surgical subspecialties as well as multiple medical school affiliations. The medical complex itself houses the General Hospital, as well as the Pediatric Hospital, Maternity Hospital, Dental Center and the King Fahad Charity Kidney Center. KSMC's core competencies are Emergency Care, Trauma, Orthopedics, Burn Care, Bariatric Surgery, Dental Care and Critical Care.

Ulaysha (Arabic: حي عليشة) or Ulaisha is a residential neighborhood and a subject of Baladiyah al-Shumaisi in south-western Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Bordered by al-Badiah neighborhood to the south, al-Rafiah neighborhood to the west, al-Fakhiriyyah neighborhood to the north and al-Shumaysi, Umm Salim and al-Wisham neighborhoods to the east, it is considered to part of the old city area.

Al-Shumaisi (Arabic: الشميسي) is a historic neighborhood and the seat of the sub-municipality of its namesake, al-Shumaisi, in southern Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located west of ad-Dirah and east of al-Badiah. The neighborhood is named after Sheikh Muhammad bin Ali al-Shumaisi, who owned a farm that was attributed to his family name in the area sometime around 1930s. It is today inhabited mostly by overseas Pakistani community. It is well known for hosting Riyadh's first hospital, the King Saud Medical City.

ʽUlaysha Prison (also ʽUlaisha, Alisha, Olisha, سجن عليشة) is a prison in Riyadh run by the Saudi Arabian secret police agency Mabahith for arbitrary detention. During the 2011 Saudi Arabian protests, "the only brave man in Saudi Arabia", Khaled al-Johani, was held in ʽUlaysha Prison and it is suspected that several founding members of the Umma Islamic Party are being held there.

Umm Sulaim (Arabic: حي أم سليم, lit. 'mother of salam') is a historic neighbourhood in southern Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located south of al-Wisham and west of ad-Dirah in the sub-municipality of al-Shumaisi. Covering an area of 90 hectares, it was established around 1946 and is named after several drought resistant bushes, known as salam, that were once found in the area.

Qaṣr 'Atīqah (Arabic: قصرعتيقة, romanized: Qaṣr ʿAtīqah, lit. 'Atiqah Palace') was a fortified palace near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was one of the earliest palaces erected outside the old town. The palace was built in 1922 and served as the residence of Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, a brother of Ibn Saud. The building stood near Wadi Hanifa, not far from the current mosque of Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Faiṣal Al Saud.

Salam Park (Arabic: منتزه سلام, romanized: Muntazah Salām), also known as Salam Family Park (Arabic: منتزه سلام العائلي), is a hobby farm-turned urban park, coextensive with the al-Salam neighborhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Popular for its 3.3 hectares large artificial lake and 1-km long pedestrian track, it was jointly designed by Omrania and Associates and Michael Aukett's multi-disciplinary company Aukett Associates. Prior to its inauguration in 2004, it was once a private property of Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman al-Saud, the elder half-brother of King Abdulaziz and is today considered among the most popular places for recreation in the country's capital.

Hillat al-Muraiqib (Arabic: حلة المريقب), or in Najdi vernacular pronunciation as al-Muraighib, was a quarter and a douar within the city walls in the erstwhile fortress-city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located in the southwestern corner of the walled town. It contained the sub-quarter of Hillat al-Mughaibrah (Arabic: حلة المقيبرة, lit. 'the graveyard quarter'), which mostly included a cemetery and an eponymous souq.The al-Mughaibrah sub-quarter hosted one of the two cemeteries that catered the needs of the town's inhabitants, other being Shalaga. It hosted the Muraighib School and Muraighib Mosque.The Souq al-Mughaibrah (Arabic: سوق المريقب) was a traditional market in the Mughaibrah sub-quarter. It was one of the most important trading commercial centers of the walled town. The souq survived following the dismantling of city walls and is today largely situated on the site of Souq al-Tamir. The souq included Qaisiriya al-Hasawiya (Arabic: قيصرية الحساوية) and Souq al-Jufrah (Arabic: سوق الجفرة, lit. 'the pit market').It was bounded by Hillat al-Sharqiyah from the east, al-Ghanaiy quarter from the north and al-Muraighib Gate from the west, which served as the main southwestern entrance to the town.

Salam Mosque (Arabic: مسجد سلام), formerly Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al Faisal Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الأمير عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن الفيصل), is a historic mosque in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, located within the Salam Park. Built in 1941 by Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman, it is one of the first mosques in Riyadh constructed using reinforced concrete and was renovated in 2003 by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City during the development of the Salam Park project.

Al-Suwaidi (Arabic: السويدي, lit. 'bitter soil') is a residential neighborhood and a subject of Baladiyah al-Urayja located on the right bank of Wadi Hanifa in southwestern Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is one of the city's 'residential districts' and is relatively overpopulated in terms of the standards of Riyadh.

Riyadh TV Tower (Arabic: برج تلفزيون الرياض) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a 170-meter-high (560 ft) television tower located in the al-Wisham neighborhood of Riyadh. It was built from 1978 to 1981 and surpassed the Riyadh Water Tower as the tallest building in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the major landmarks of the city.
