Wiesbaden Ost (east) station is situated on the Frankfurt–Wiesbaden line (line number 3603; timetable section 645.1) in the German state of Hesse. It was opened as part of the Taunus Railway, which was opened in 1839/40. The station was opened as part of the last stage of construction of the line to Wiesbaden and was opened on 19 May 1840.

Lothar Siegfried Freiherr von Richthofen (27 September 1894 – 4 July 1922) was a German First World War fighter ace credited with 40 victories. He was a younger brother of top-scoring ace Manfred von Richthofen (the Red Baron) and a distant cousin of Luftwaffe Field Marshal Wolfram von Richthofen. Following the war, he worked for a while on a farm before taking an industrial position. He married in June 1919 and had two children. Yearning for aviation he accepted a position as a pilot, conveying passengers and postal mail between Berlin and Hamburg. He died aged 27 on 4 July 1922 in a flying accident at Fuhlsbüttel.

Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (German: [ˈmanfreːt fɔn ˈʁɪçthoːfn̩]; 2 May 1892 – 21 April 1918), known in English as Baron von Richthofen or the Red Baron, was a fighter pilot with the German Air Force during World War I. He is considered the ace-of-aces of the war, being officially credited with 80 air combat victories. Originally a cavalryman, Richthofen transferred to the Air Service in 1915, becoming one of the first members of fighter squadron Jagdstaffel 2 in 1916. He quickly distinguished himself as a fighter pilot, and during 1917 became the leader of Jasta 11. Later he led the larger fighter wing Jagdgeschwader I, better known as "The Flying Circus" or "Richthofen's Circus" because of the bright colours of its aircraft, and perhaps also because of the way the unit was transferred from one area of Allied air activity to another – moving like a travelling circus, and frequently setting up in tents on improvised airfields. By 1918, Richthofen was regarded as a national hero in Germany, and respected by his enemies. Richthofen was shot down and killed near Vaux-sur-Somme on 21 April 1918. There has been considerable discussion and debate regarding aspects of his career, especially the circumstances of his death. He remains one of the most widely known fighter pilots of all time, and has been the subject of many books, films, and other media.

Mainzer Straße is a major arterial road in Wiesbaden, Germany, running from Ringroad near central station at the north end, south towards as continuation of Bundesautobahn 671 through the suburb of Südost. The Mainzer Straße is a four lane street and part of Bundesstraße 263. The street is with the Schiersteiner Straße and Ringstraße the busiest southern arterial road in Wiesbaden and is in the peak-hour traffic often congested. The street was named according to their primary direction to Mainz-Kastel, a former district of the city of Mainz. Since the allied-occupation of Germany the district is administered by the city of Wiesbaden.

Südost is a borough of the city of Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany. With over 21,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most-populated of Wiesbaden's boroughs. It is located in the centre of the city. Südost is known for plenty of state agencies settled there.

The Kulturzentrum Schlachthof (literally: Cultural Center Slaughterhouse) in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany, is a cultural center in a complex which formerly housed the municipal slaughterhouse, approximately 500 meters southeast of the Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof railway station. The cultural center, known as Schlachthof, was founded in 1994. It offers two concert halls for events from 300 to 2,000 people; the large concert hall has an area of about 1,200 square meters. The location is used for concert in rock, metal and punk, for music parties, poetry slams and readings. It is surrounded by a leisure park.

The Helmut-Schön-Sportpark is an American Football stadium for the Wiesbaden Phantoms American football team in Wiesbaden, Germany. It was built in 1907. Capacity of the venue is 11,498 people. It was used as a venue for the 2003 IFAF World Cup. Before 2009, it was called Stadion an der Berliner Straße. Further the association football team SV Wiesbaden 1899 also play at this stadium.

Mainz-Amöneburg is a district administered by the city of Wiesbaden, Germany. Its population is 1,743 (2020). Mainz-Amöneburg was formerly a district of the city of Mainz, until the public administration by the city of Wiesbaden was decided on August 10, 1945. The reason for this had been the easy control of the Allied Occupation Zones in Germany, where the Rhine formed the border between the American sector and the French sector. Mainz-Amöneburg faces the city of Mainz on the opposite shore of the Rhine river. The former border between the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Prussian Province of Hesse-Nassau lay between Amöneburg and Biebrich until 1945. Two companies which were at first independent, but which later belonged to the same company, Hoechst AG, had been located in Amöneburg (Chemische Werke Albert) and Biebrich (Chemische Fabrik Kalle), one on each side of the border. Recent mergers, acquisitions and transitions took place. Now, the industrial site InfraServ Wiesbaden runs the infrastructure.

The Hessian Central State Archives, Wiesbaden (Hessisches Hauptstaatsarchiv Wiesbaden in German) is a department of the Hessian State Archives and is located in Wiesbaden, the capital of the German state of Hesse. It serves alongside the Hessian State Archives, Darmstadt and the Hessian State Archives, Marburg as the main regional archives for Hesse and additionally functions as the central archives for the state government and ministries, as well as other institutions with nationwide jurisdiction.

BRITA-Arena is a football stadium in Wiesbaden, Germany. It is the home ground of 3. Liga side SV Wehen Wiesbaden. The stadium is named after its former main sponsor Brita, a German company specialised in producing water filters, and replaced the Stadion am Halberg in Taunusstein as SV Wehen's home ground. The stadium has a total capacity of 13,500 seats. BRITA-Arena opened in 2007 with a friendly match which SV Wehen lost 2–1 to Borussia Dortmund. The first competitive match in the stadium was played on 21 October 2007 between SV Wehen and 1. FSV Mainz 05, with Mainz celebrating a 3–1 victory. West stand reconstruction After the home game of SV Wehen Wiesbaden against 1860 Munich on 9 March 2019, the West stand of the stadium was closed in order to enable reconstruction to start. Prior to this, tubular steel construction stand was a temporary structure while the new structure will be permanent.Due to the temporary nature, the limited capacity of the stadium, and other requirements regarding TV camera positions, SV Wehen will require a special permit if they are promoted to the 2. Budesliga. Therefore, the rebuilding of a permanent west stand structure was planned and started and the new stand is due to be completed and open by the end of 2020. In February 2018 an agreement was reached between the Stadion Berliner Strasse GmbH & Co. KG (SBS) and the city of Wiesbaden on a new licence. As a result, SV Wehen Wiesbaden will play its games in the Brita Arena until 2047. The new west stand, which will be built from concrete, will cost between eight and nine million euros, with the state of Hesse contributing 3.5 million euros.Until the building has been completed there is only room for 9,100 spectators.

The Rhineland-Palatinate General Directorate for Cultural Heritage (German: Generaldirektion Kulturelles Erbe Rheinland-Pfalz or Generaldirektion Kulturelles Erbe RLP) is a state agency responsible for monument protection and preservation in the Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to the Directorate of Castles, Palaces and Antiquities, its responsibilities include the three state museums in Koblenz, Mainz and Trier as well as the State Monument Preservation and State Archaeology Directorates as monument authorities.In 2021, Markus Poschmann of the State Archaeology Directorate at Koblenz, who is an expert in prehistoric sea scorpions of the eurypterid order, co-authored a study with Andrew Rozenfeldz of Queensland Museum in Australia, describing a possible second species in the Woodwardopterus genus. Named Woodwardopterus freemanorum, the specimen gained extra significance when it was found to be the last known fossil of eurypterid in the world, having lived not long before the end of Permian extinction event, in which around 96 per cent of species went extinct.

Salzbach (in its upper course: Rambach) is a stream in the city of Wiesbaden, in the state of Hesse, Germany. It is a tributary of the Rhine.
