Bay View High School is a Canadian high school serving the western suburbs of Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM); namely the communities of Beechville, Lakeside, Timberlea, Tantallon and communities on the western portion of Highway 333 including Peggy's Cove, Seabright and others. Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park is a provincial park in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, in Upper Tanatallon. It is located on Route 3, approximately 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) west of Halifax. The park is a small picnic park and has an area specially developed for seniors and people with disabilities. It features include picnic tables, a picnic shelter, a wheelchair-accessible fishing wharf, and a trail that connects to a rails to trails network. Parking areas and drive-in picnic sites are conveniently located close to all facilities, including a barrier-free vault toilet. Round Lake each season is stocked with brook and rainbow trout and in 2018 was stocked with salmon.

Upper Hammonds Plains (2011 population: 1,840) is a Canadian suburban community located in Nova Scotia's Halifax Regional Municipality. The community is situated along Pockwock Road and is considered one of the most historic communities for Black Nova Scotians. There were 330 residents who identified themselves as having black ancestry in the 2006 census. The community is named after the Governor of Nova Scotia Sir Andrew Hamond, 1st Baronet. Its border is defined by the Government of Nova Scotia and it is adjacent to Hammonds Plains in the east and south, Upper Tantallon in the south, Head of St. Margarets Bay and Mount Uniacke in the west, and Mount Uniacke and Upper Sackville in the north.

Tantallon (pronounced 'tan-TAL-en') is an exurban community in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. It extends from about two kilometers south of Trunk 3, along Route 333, just north of Ballfield Road, for roughly three kilometres along Route 333, to just south of Longards road, and includes Whynachts Point and Sheeps Head Island. It is bordered to the north by Upper Tantallon and to the south by Glen Haven. The community is about 32 km (20 mi) from Downtown Halifax.The community is likely named for Tantallon Castle in Scotland.
