The Circuito del Jarama (Circuit of Jarama), formerly known as Circuito Permanente del Jarama (Permanent circuit of Jarama) is a motorsport racetrack located in San Sebastián de los Reyes, 20 miles (32 km) north of Madrid. It was home to the Spanish Grand Prix nine times between 1968 and 1981, and the Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix 15 times between 1969 and 1988. Designed by John Hugenholtz (who also created Suzuka), the 3.850 km (2.392 mi) circuit was built by Alessandro Rocci in 1967 on arid scrub land.

The 1980 Spanish Grand Prix (formally the XXVI Gran Premio de España) was a Formula One motor race held on 1 June 1980 at Circuito Permanente del Jarama. Originally scheduled to be part of the 1980 World Championship of Drivers, following the running of the race it was announced that World Championship points would not be awarded to the competitors, making it a non-championship race. The winner of the race was Alan Jones, driving for the Williams team. Jochen Mass finished second for Arrows and Elio de Angelis third for Team Lotus. Owing to disputes as part of the FISA–FOCA war, the race went ahead without the manufacturer teams of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Renault, because the Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile (FISA), then the governing body of Formula One, had declared the race illegal. The other teams drove the race, now sanctioned by the Formula One Constructors Association (FOCA). All teams competing in the race ran Ford engines. Carlos Reutemann, Nelson Piquet and Didier Pironi all retired from the race whilst in the lead, Reutemann due to a collision and Pironi and Piquet because of mechanical problems. Only six of the twenty-two drivers who took the start of the race made it to the end, and only three were on the lead lap.

The Comunidad de Madrid Ladies Open is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour, first played in 2022.The tournament will be the first of the 2022 LET season to be played on European soil after events in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. It marks the LET's return to Madrid after nine years of absence, the city last hosted the Open de España Femenino in 2013.

Hospital Infanta Sofía is the northern terminus of Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.

Carrera y Carrera is a Spanish jewelry company. Headquartered in San Agustín del Guadalix, Madrid, its origins date back to 1885 when Saturio Esteban Carrera opened a small jewelry workshop in the Barrio de las Letras. During the 1970s, his great-grandsons Manuel Carrera and Juan José Carrera created the brand, after which the company has had several owners. Currently the company has subsidiaries in New York City, Tokyo, Moscow, and UAE.In 2000, Manuel Carrera received a Medal from the Russian Academy of Arts. Currently, the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences grants a Carrera y Carrera ring for its Maja de los Goya award during its Goya Awards ceremony. Also the National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia grants with the Golden Eagle Award (Russia) designed by Carrera y Carrera.

Unión Deportiva San Sebastián de los Reyes, also known as Sanse is a Spanish football team based in San Sebastián de los Reyes, in the autonomous community of Madrid. Founded in 1971 it plays in Primera División RFEF – Group 1, holding home matches at Estadio Nuevo Matapiñonera, with a capacity of 3,000 seats.

San Sebastián de los Reyes (colloquially called "Sanse") is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, Spain. Founded in 1492, it is located 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Madrid.

Baunatal is a station on Line 10 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in fare Zone B1.The station was named after the Avenida de Baunatal, which in turn got its name from the Hessian town of Baunatal, a sister city of San Sebastián de los Reyes since 1990.

Spanair Flight 5022 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Barcelona–El Prat Airport to Gran Canaria Airport, Spain, via Madrid–Barajas Airport that crashed just after take-off from runway 36L at Madrid Airport at 14:24 CEST (12:24 UTC) on 20 August 2008. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration EC-HFP. Of the 172 passengers and crew on board, 154 died and 18 survived.It was the only fatal accident for Spanair (part of the SAS Group) in the 25-year history of the company, and the 14th fatal accident and 24th hull loss involving the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series aircraft. It was Spain's deadliest accident since the 1983 crash of Avianca Flight 011.The accident further worsened Spanair's already negative image at the time and exacerbated its financial difficulties. Spanair subsequently ceased operations on 27 January 2012.

The Hermitage of the Solitude (Spanish: Ermita de la Soledad) is a hermitage located in the village of Fuente el Saz de Jarama, Community of Madrid, Spain. It is a very small building of an almost squared ground plan, with hipped roof and walls constructed with masonry bonding. The front facade is simple, presenting an elliptical arch door, situated between two small lattice gaps. One of the side walls of the hermitage shows a similar arch, as if it had been another previous entrance now blocked. Its appearance can recall a moorish marabout, and the most valuable feature of the hermitage is the inner wooden coffer ceiling in the shape of a trough, of great quality knot carpentry. In 1995, it was declared Heritage of cultural interest (Bien de Interés Cultural), within the category of monument, and it is listed with code RI-51-0009113.
