Greenwood is a census-designated place in Logan Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located near I-99 and is adjacent in the northeast to the city of Altoona. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,458 residents. It is often considered a district of Altoona, as the addresses are listed as Altoona addresses and some of the avenues use Altoona's numbering system.

Pinecroft is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in north-central Blair County, in the southern part of Antis Township. It is 4 miles (6 km) north of Altoona, the county's largest city. The Little Juniata River runs along the northwestern edge of the CDP.

The J.L. Noble School was a historic school building located in the Juniata neighborhood of Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States. It was built in 1912, and was a two-story, yellow brick building with cut brownstone detailing in the Renaissance Revival style. An annex was built in 1929.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

UPMC Altoona, located in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania, is a 380-bed, non-profit, private community hospital system that contains more than 20 affiliated health care companies and functions as the regional referral center and tertiary hub of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Founded in 1883 as to serve the needs of the area and the Pennsylvania Railroad, the hospital was known for most of its history simply as Altoona Hospital. It became part of the Altoona Regional Health System which was created in 2004 by the merger of Altoona Hospital with Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital, previously Mercy Hospital of Altoona. Today as part of UPMC, it is an Adult Level II trauma center for a 20 county region in central Pennsylvania and is served by 300 physicians and 4,000 care givers that help it to provide a variety of medical services and specialties. UPMC Altoona is the tallest building in Altoona.

Downtown Altoona Historic District is a national historic district located at Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 240 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Altoona. The buildings were primarily built after about 1860 and include residential, civic, social, and religious buildings. Although it does not encompass the entire downtown, it is for the most part the most urban part of Altoona's downtown district (whose boundaries are not very neatly defined anyway). Notable buildings include the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (1920s), First Methodist Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church (1896-1897), U.S. Post Office (1931-1933), Fraternal Order of Eagles Building (demolished), Altoona City Hall, Casanave Building (1890s), Hutchison Block, McCrory's Department Store (1937), and Aaron-Penn Furniture Building. Located in the district are the separately listed Central Trust Company Buildings, Mishler Theatre, and Penn Alto Hotel.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, with a boundary increase in 2004.

The Railroaders Memorial Museum (RMM) is a railroad museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The museum focuses on the history of railroad workers and railroad communities in central Pennsylvania, particularly Altoona, the Altoona Works, and the greater Pittsburgh area. Since 1998, the museum has been located in the Master Mechanics Building, built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1882. The museum also operates a separate museum, visitor center, and observation area at the Horseshoe Curve.

Altoona Alliance Church is a church associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1891 by Rev. Frederick Senft, who would one day go on to become president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Over the 119 years of its existence the Altoona Alliance Church has had 26 pastors and has been located in at least 17 different locations throughout the city. Currently the Altoona Alliance Church is led by Rev. Tim McGarvey, who graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries.

The Altoona Transportation Center is an intermodal passenger facility in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is served by the daily Amtrak Pennsylvanian, Greyhound Lines intercity buses, and AMTRAN local bus service (for which is serves as the hub). The station was built in 1986, replacing a temporary station, which had in turn replaced the 1887-built Pennsylvania Railroad station in 1972.

The Penn Alto Building is a landmark building located in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States. The building is nine stories high and has a partial tenth floor penthouse. The name of the building remains the same, even though its usage has changed over time. The name changed from the Penn Alto Hotel to Penn Alto Apartments when it changed from strictly being a hotel to a residential hotel, which rents both apartments and hotel rooms. The current name is City Hall Commons, deriving its name from its proximity to City Hall, which is just across the street. The building was designed by the H.L. Stevens & Company and constructed in 1921 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It is in the Downtown Altoona Historic District. Official measurements of the building conflict with each other. One measurement is as conservative as 98 feet (30 m), while another lists it as 115 feet (35 m). These variations may be due to the slight incline that the Penn Alto was built on.
