Saltsburg is a borough in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States. Its location is in western Pennsylvania, in the southwestern corner of Indiana County near its border with Westmoreland County. The town was based on the construction of salt wells and the canals and railroad tracks that passed through it. Its population was 780 at the 2020 census.

The Kiski School (formerly the Kiskiminetas Springs School and often known simply as Kiski or Kiski Prep) is an independent, college-preparatory boarding school in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, United States. The school, named after the nearby Kiskiminetas River, is located about 30 miles (48 km) east by north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1888, Kiski is the oldest remaining non-military all-boys boarding school in the United States. Kiski educates students in grades 9–12, along with a post-graduate (PG) year. Kiski has an enrollment of approximately 191, with international students from 23 different countries. For 2024, Niche ranked Kiski 9th-best boarding high school in Pennsylvania.

Loyalhanna Lake is a reservoir of about 480 acres on Loyalhanna Creek located in Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County near Saltsburg. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates the dam that forms the lake.

Clarksburg is an unincorporated community in Conemaugh Township, in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located on PA Route 286 between Indiana and Saltsburg. In the town proper, Clarksburg contains a post office, greenhouse, a bar (closed c. 2016), a Sunoco station, small store, and fish hatchery, as well as the Clarksburg Presbyterian Church. The church youth hold multiple spaghetti dinners on Saturdays throughout the fall and spring. There are a number of family farms in the area, including agribusiness such as feed lots and "pick your own". The town also has its own T-ball and baseball league that gets organized at the Kenneth Quick Memorial Park. The park also plays host to the annual town festival that has a 5k, dunking booth and food stands. Originating in the hills north and east of town, Blacklegs Creek meanders through on its way to Saltsburg to join the Kiskimenitas River, then the Conemaugh River and ultimately heading to Pittsburgh to flow into the Ohio River and beyond. The Shelocta branch of Norfolk Southern Railroad was built around 2005 and runs on the far side of Blacklegs creek for the length of town.
