Ovcha kupel (Bulgarian: Овча купел [ˌɔft͡ʃɐ ˈkupɛɫ]) is a district (rayon) of the Stolichna Municipality of Sofia City Province, Bulgaria.The name of the neighborhood is applied to the thermal water that comes out on the earth's surface: shepherds who led their flocks there knew that the sheep willingly walk in the swampy meadows. After an earthquake in 1858, hot water gushed out and the sheep did not avoid it and were like bathed, hence the name, literally means "sheep bath" (ovcha kupel). On that place in 1933 was opened the Ovcha kupel Mineral Bath, built in 1925-1928 by architect Georgi Ovcharov. As of 2006 it has 47,380 inhabitants. It is located starting at 6 km to the south-west of the city centre of Sofia, including the eastern part of the Lyulin Mountain. The district includes some neighborhoods of Sofia – Ovcha kupel, Gorna banya, Suhodol, Karpuzitsa, and the village of Malo Buchino. In the district are situated 3 institutions of higher education: Specialized Establishment of the Francophonie for Administration and Management; New Bulgarian University (with more than 7,000 students); Higher School of Insurance and Finance.There are 9 schools (including the National educational complex in culture) and 5 houses of culture called chitalishte, the oldest of them built in 1922. The district is home of Slavia – the oldest football club in Sofia, among the oldest in the country with a 25,556-seater stadium.

Gorna Banya (Bulgarian: Горна баня) is a neighbourhood in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. It is one of the city's oldest villa zones. The town is part of Sofia's Ovcha Kupel District. It is located in the southwestern part of the capital and borders the neighbourhoods of Knyazhevo to the south and Ovcha Kupel to the northeast. It is known for its mineral waters and has the cleanest air in Sofia due to the unique interaction between air currents from the Vladaysko Gorge, the Buchinski Pass, and the Slivnishko Pole, which are located in the Sofia Valley. This interaction provides constant ventilation and prevents the retention of fog.

Ovcha Kupel II (Bulgarian: Метростанция "Овча купел II") is a Sofia Metro station on the M3 line. It was opened on 24 April 2021 as part of the second section of the line between Ovcha kupel and Gorna Banya. The preceding station is Gorna Banya and the adjacent station is Moesia.

The Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science (also as CEEC of Cognitive Science ) at the New Bulgarian University undertakes research in fundamental and applied cognitive science. Research topics include: memory, thinking, language, learning, perception, context, applications to robotics, AI, and cognitive systems, cognitive economics, human factors and usability, education and learning methods. Knyazhevo (Bulgarian: Княжево) is a neighbourhood in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. Administratively, it is part of the Vitosha District of Stolichna Municipality in the southwestern part of the Sofia City Province.

It is one of 24 Sofia districts, is 3 km from central Sofia and includes six neighbourhoods: "Ilinden"; "Zapaden Park"; "Razsadnika"; "Krasna Polyana" 1, 2, 3. There are many green areas especially in the neighbourhood of "Zapaden Park" as the name suggests.

The district includes 7 neighbourhoods: Boyana; Simeonovo; Dragalevtsi; Pavlovo; Buxton; Manastirski Livadi and Knyazhevo as well as two villages Vladaya and Marchaevo. It is among the richest and greenest districts in Sofia and Bulgaria with many beautiful residences, houses, villas and residential complexes.
