Lynde Shores Conservation Area

Lynde Creek is a stream in the municipalities of Whitby and Scugog, Regional Municipality of Durham, in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin, is a tributary of Lake Ontario, and is under the auspices of the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority. The creek begins on the Oak Ridges Moraine in geographic Reach Township in the municipality of Scugog, and flows south to its mouth in the southwest of the town of Whitby. Portions of the 132.19-square-kilometre (51.04 sq mi) watershed also extend into the town of Ajax, the city of Pickering and the municipality of Uxbridge.

Whitby Junction is a historic railroad station, originally built at the foot of Byron Street in Whitby, Ontario. Under Canadian National the station was later known as Whitby, due to the closure of the central Whitby station between this station and Manilla Junction. It is a stop on the Lakeshore East line and was the eastern terminus of the dedicated GO Transit right-of-way until those tracks were extended to Oshawa in 1995. There are connections by GO Bus northward to Port Perry and Beaverton, and local Durham Region Transit routes within Whitby.

Pringle Creek is a small watercourse that drains into Lake Ontario in Whitby, Ontario. It drains 3,102.15 hectares (11.9775 sq mi). Groundwater discharge from the bluffs left from glacial Lake Iroquois feed the headwaters of Pringle Creek.On June 19, 2017, police and animal control officials were able to contain, tranquilize and safely relocate a black bear who had wandered into residential areas on Pringle Creek.

Whitby is a town in Durham Region. Whitby is located in Southern Ontario east of Ajax and west of Oshawa, on the north shore of Lake Ontario and is home to the headquarters of Durham Region. It had a population of 138,501 at the 2021 census. It is approximately 45 km (28 mi) east of Toronto, and it is known as a commuter suburb in the Greater Toronto Area. While the southern portion of Whitby is predominantly urban and an economic hub, the northern part of the municipality is more rural and includes the communities of Ashburn, Brooklin, Myrtle, Myrtle Station, and Macedonian Village.
