Donelson Christian Academy is a private, K-12 Christian school that was founded in 1971. For its first three years classes were held in the Donelson Free Will Baptist Church, across from McGavock High School. In 1974, the school moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

Donelson is a neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, about 6 mi (10 km) east of downtown Nashville along U.S. Route 70. It is named in honor of John Donelson, co-founder of Nashville and father-in-law of Andrew Jackson, Nashvillian and seventh President of the United States. Donelson is governed by the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County, due to the fact that the government of Davidson County is consolidated with that of Nashville.

The James Buchanan House is a historic log house in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built circa 1800 by James Buchanan, an early Nashville pioneer and signer of the 1789 Cumberland Compact. It's one of the earliest log homes still in existence in the area and is open to the public. The logs were hewn from Tennessee red cedars and nearly-extinct American chestnut trees. The floors were formed from Tennessee poplars and rest on a Tennessee limestone foundation. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 29, 1984.

The Stones River (properly spelled Stone's River) is a major stream of the eastern portion of Tennessee's Nashville Basin region and a tributary of the Cumberland River. It is named after explorer and longhunter Uriah Stone, who navigated the river in 1767.

Stone Hall is a historic mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, US. It was designed by George D. Waller in the Colonial Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 17, 2010.The Stone Hall was built in 1918 for the Cantrell family, Dempsey Weaver Cantrell (1880–1965) and Nora Johnson Cantrell (1882–1959). The couple married in 1907. Nora Johnson Cantrell was a poet, and was named Poet Laureate of the Tennessee Federation of Women's Clubs in 1939. Dempsey Weaver Cantrell was a businessman. He founded a wholesale paper goods company named Southern Woodenware Company in 1903. Before moving to Stone Hall, the Cantrell family lived in East Nashville in a house on Russell Street. Following the 1916 fire of East Nashville in which their street house was "just missed", they decided to shift their home to a suburban area of Nashville. Nora Cantrell's father owned some land in the Donelson area, and the Cantrell family decided to build their new home here. They met architect George Waller, who ended up designing Stone Hall.The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Greenways of Nashville acquired Stone Hall in 2006–07. Hall is now used for public events and can be hired for weddings, receptions and cultural programs.

McGavock High School (commonly McGavock or Big Mac) is a public high school located in Nashville, Tennessee. The high school is a Model Academy School (affiliated with the National Career Academy Coalition).In January 2014, President Barack Obama visited McGavock High School to discuss the success of the academy model.
