Tapo Canyon (Ventureño: Ta’apu, pronounced \tap’ō\) is a series of canyons and a wildlife corridor in the western Santa Susana Mountains, north of Simi Valley in Ventura County, Southern California. It's the main filming location of the well-known TV show Little House on the Prairie in the 1970s. Tapo Canyon Regional Park is an open-space park and camping ground administered by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. It is situated in the midst of the many canyons and rolling hills found in this particular region of northern Simi Valley. Today, the park offers recreational activities as mountain biking, horseback-riding, hiking, as well as campgrounds, picnic areas, and sixteen RV camp hook ups. The elevation here goes up as far as 2300 feet, which offers great panoramic views along much of its hiking trails up on the hills. It is a 3.4 mile hike south of the Santa Clara River in Piru, CA, and about 4 miles west of Pico Canyon in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County.

Lost Canyons Golf Club was a public golf facility located in Simi Valley, California, USA. It has two 18-hole golf courses named Sky and Shadow. Both courses were designed by Pete Dye with consulting help from Fred Couples, and were named "Top 10 Best New Courses" by Golf Magazine (2001 Sky and 2002 Shadow). The golf club was developed by Landmark Land Co. Inc, a leading developer of golf resort and residential communities. Lost Canyons Golf Club has suffered from several natural disasters over the years because of its topography and proximity to natural dry-brush. It was the victim of a wild fire that caused the destruction of many wood bridges and floods from heavy-rains that also took out the very same bridges that had been replaced. The club survived and even flourished during this attack from Mother Nature, and while the course was under construction it re-opened with a modified 18-holes by combining both the Sky and Shadow courses from those holes that were both playable and accessible via pathway and bridge. Today, neither course is open and operational. Lost Canyons LLC has filed a planned "conversion" proposal to replace one course with up to 364 upscale homes and turn the other course into a members-only private course.[1] This continues a recent trend among developers who have converted public courses into private development including Aliso Viejo Golf Club and Cypress Golf Club in California and the proposed Royal Links Golf Club in Nevada.

Simi Valley (Chumash: Shimiyi) is a synclinal valley in Southern California in the United States. It is an enclosed or hidden valley surrounded by mountains and hills. It is connected to the San Fernando Valley to the east by the Santa Susana Pass and the 118 (Ronald Reagan) freeway, and in the west the narrows of the Arroyo Simi and the Reagan Freeway connection to Moorpark. The relatively flat bottom of the valley contains soils formed from shales, sandstones, and conglomerates eroded from the surrounding hills of the Santa Susana Mountains to the north, which separate Simi Valley from the Santa Clara River Valley, and the Simi Hills.

Santa Susana High School is one of four public high schools located in the Simi Valley Unified School District in Simi Valley, California. Built in 1970, the school campus was originally designed as a junior high campus formerly known as Sequoia Junior High School. In June 1995, the Simi Valley School Board voted one junior high campus be converted into a magnet high school to accommodate the move of 9th graders into regular high school campuses, and all remaining junior high campuses be converted into middle schools. The school board elected Sequoia Junior High over Hillside Junior High because of its location. Santa Susana High School officially opened on September 5, 1996.Currently, Santa Susana High School is configured with three major classroom blocks, surrounding a quad. A large open-air amphitheater divides the classroom complex, and the school's MUR, music, stagecraft, film and broadcasting workshops, and Black Box Theater. The technical, 422-seat Performing Arts Center, dance studios, and the student parking lot are located west of the multipurpose room. The school colors are silver, black, white, and teal. The mascot is the Troubadour.

Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village, also known as Bottle Village, is an art environment, located in Simi Valley, California. It was created by Tressa "Grandma" Prisbrey (1896–1988) from the 1950s to the 1970s. Prisbey built a "village" of shrines, walkways, sculptures, and buildings from recycled items and discards from the local landfill. Bottle Village has been designated as a historical landmark by the City of Simi Valley, County of Ventura, and State of California (California Historical Landmark No. 939. It was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. Bottle Village closed in 1984 and was severely damaged during the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

Las Llajas (pronounced YAH huhs) Canyon within the Marr Ranch Parkland contains the 1920s residential subdivision called Marrland and the surrounding open space area administrated by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District (RSRPD) and is located in northeastern Simi Valley, CA. The Las Llajas and nearby Chivo Canyons are parts of the Marr Ranch Parkland, Marrland residential subdivision, and are situated at the foothills on the south side of the Santa Susana Mountains. It contains panoramic mountain and city views, large oak trees, stream and stream bed, rock formations, barren hillsides and rolling hills. The canyon is visited for recreational activities as rock climbing, biking, hiking, wildlife observation, photography, running, picnicking, and horseback riding. It has smooth footing with many sandy sections and a green creek-bed. It also includes a 46-acre dam that was intended for creation a recreational lake in the 1970s. Now called the Las Llajas Canyon Debris Basin.The place name was first used in 1931. It is likely a misspelling of the Spanish las llagas, which translates to "the wounds", and referred to the stigmata of a Roman Catholic saint.Pisgah Grande was a Christian sect who created a secluded colony in the Llajas Canyon. At one time, the cult had thirty buildings and 150 residents.

Eternity Bible College (EBC) is a private Bible college in Simi Valley, California. It was founded by Francis Chan, former pastor of Cornerstone Community Church. The college is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education.

Simi Institute for Careers and Education, formerly known as Simi Valley Adult School, is the adult education division of the Simi Valley Unified School District located in eastern Ventura County, between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara Counties. School enrolments are reported to be more than 11,000 students a year with about half pursuing occupational training programs. Simi Institute is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Simi Valley ( ; Chumash: Shimiyi) is a city in the valley of the same name in the southeast region of Ventura County, California, United States. Simi Valley is 40 miles (65 km) from Downtown Los Angeles, making it part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city sits next to Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Chatsworth. As of the 2020 U.S. Census the population was 126,356, up from 124,243 in 2010. The city of Simi Valley is surrounded by the Santa Susana Mountains and the Simi Hills, west of the San Fernando Valley, and northeast of the Conejo Valley. It grew as a commuter bedroom community for the cities in the Los Angeles area, and the San Fernando Valley when a freeway was built over the Santa Susana Pass. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, where the former president was buried in 2004, is in Simi Valley. The Reagan Library has hosted Republican primary debates in 2011, 2015, and in 2023.

Simi Valley High School (SVHS) is a public high school in Simi Valley, California. The school is part of the Simi Valley Unified School District and is located on the east side of the city.

Simi Valley station is a passenger rail station in the city of Simi Valley, California. Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner from San Luis Obispo to San Diego and Metrolink's Ventura County Line from Los Angeles Union Station to East Ventura stop here. Simi Valley station is served by ten Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains (five in each direction) every day and two Coast Starlight trains (one in each direction), with departures evenly spaced throughout the day. Sixteen Metrolink Ventura County Line trains (eight in each direction) serve the station each weekday, running during peak hours in the peak direction of travel. On weekends, four Metrolink Ventura County Line trains (two in each direction) serve the station. Metrolink passengers also have access to all Pacific Surfliner trains through a codesharing arrangement with Amtrak.In Fiscal Year 2022, 26,689 passengers boarded or detrained at Simi Valley station.
