The monotypic mushroom genus Longula is now included in Agaricus; see Agaricus deserticola.Longula was a town in ancient times in the territory of the Volsci in central Italy. It was located south of Rome, and just north of the Volscian capital Antium.In 493 BC it was captured by a Roman army under the command of the consul Postumus Cominius Auruncus.In around 488 BC it was retaken by the Volsci.

USS Swerve (AM-121) was an Auk-class minesweeper acquired by the United States Navy for the dangerous task of removing mines from minefields laid in the water to prevent ships from passing. Swerve was the first U.S. Navy vessel so named. It was laid down on 27 May 1942 by John H. Mathis & Company, Camden, New Jersey; launched on 25 February 1943; sponsored by Ms. E. C. Draemel; and commissioned on 23 January 1944. Swerve held sea trials from 1–14 February and sailed for Little Creek, Virginia, on the 15th to begin her shakedown cruise. Most of March was spent in a post-shakedown availability and in training.

Torvaianica or Torvajanica is a frazione of the comune of Pomezia, in the Metropolitan City of Rome, central Italy. Counting some 12,700 inhabitants, it extends for some eight kilometres (5.0 miles) on central Lazio's littoral.

Zoomarine is an amusement park located in Torvaianica, Pomezia, Italy. Inaugurated in September 2005, it is owned by Dolphin Discovery from August 2015. Zoomarine is mainly a zoological park, but also includes water park and theme park attractions, with a total area of 40,000 m2. It counts 22 attractions.

Santa Palomba transmitter is a facility of RAI, used for medium-wave broadcasting near Santa Palomba at 41°42′13″N 12°34′50″E. It works on 846 kHz and 1332 kHz. On the first frequency, it can be easily received throughout Europe at night time. Santa Palomba transmitter uses three antennas: two free-standing lattice towers, 186 metres and 75 metres tall and an array of three 116-meter-tall guyed mast radiators. The 186-meter-tall main tower, which is a grounded structure equipped with two individually feedable cage antenna systems for effective skywave suppression, is used for broadcasting on 846 kHz, and the mast array is used for broadcasting on 1332 kHz. The 75-meter-tall lattice tower, which is also grounded and equipped with a cage antenna, serves as a backup antenna for both frequencies. Santa Palomba transmitter, which belongs to the most important transmitters of RAI, got controversial after the power of the transmitter for 846 kHz was increased to 1500 kW.

Lanuvium, modern Lanuvio, is an ancient city of Latium vetus, some 32 kilometres (20 mi) southeast of Rome, a little southwest of the Via Appia.Situated on an isolated hill projecting south from the main mass of the Alban Hills, Lanuvium commanded an extensive view over the low country between it and the sea.

Pavona is a hamlet in Lazio, central Italy. It is a frazione of the comune (municipality) of Albano Laziale. However, its traditional territory is also included in those of Castel Gandolfo and Rome.

The Battle of Velletri occurred on 12 August 1744 in the War of the Austrian Succession, between Austria and the Kingdom of Naples. After seizing Velletri in a nighttime attack and capturing much of King Charles' royal entourage, the Austrian army joined battle with Charles' army outside the city. The Austrians were rapidly thrown back and retreated north toward Rome with Charles in pursuit.

Genzano di Roma is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is one of the Castelli Romani, at a distance of 29 kilometres (18 mi) from Rome, in the Alban Hills.

Santa Maria Assunta is a Roman Catholic parish church designed in 1661–1665 by Gianlorenzo Bernini; and located in the center of the town of Ariccia, Italy, where it stands across a piazza from the Palazzo Chigi Ariccia, once belonging to the family of Pope Alexander VII, Bernini's patrons in the construction of this church.

The Palazzo Chigi of Ariccia was the ducal palace of the Chigi family located in the center of the town of Ariccia, near Rome, Italy. Originally a 15th-century palace of the Savelli family stood at the site, it was rebuilt during 1664 to 1672, in a Baroque style by the Chigi Family. The work was a collaboration between Gian Lorenzo Bernini and his pupil Carlo Fontana. The sober exterior does not reflect the highly decorated interiors. The palace and Parco Chigi were ceded to the Commune in 1988 by the prince Agostino Chigi Albani della Rovere, and now served as a host of exhibitions and events. It hosts the Museo del Barocco Romano encompassed by some of the remaining Chigi family collections. Stadio Pio XII is a multi-use stadium in Albano Laziale, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and it serves as the home of Albalonga of Serie D and formerly of the Vatican City national football team. The stadium holds 1,500 people.
