Campagnano di Roma

The Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi is a racing circuit situated 32 km (20 mi) north of Rome, Italy, near Vallelunga of Campagnano. Vallelunga was built as a 1.773 km (1.102 mi) sand oval in 1951.

Cesano is the 52nd zona of Rome, Italy, identified by the initials Z. LII. It takes its name from the small medieval village of Cesano di Roma, on the Via Cassia, which is located within the Municipio XV, 27 km from Rome proper.

Lake Martignano (Italian: Lago di Martignano) is a small lake in Lazio, Italy 24 kilometres (15 mi) north-north-west of Rome, in an extinct crater or maar. Administratively its coast is divided amongst the municipalities of Rome, Anguillara Sabazia and Campagnano di Roma.

The 1964 Eisenhower Trophy took place 7–10 October at the Olgiata Golf Club in Olgiata, north of Rome, Italy. It was the fourth World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 33 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. Great Britain and Ireland won the Eisenhower Trophy, beating Canada by two strokes. Canada took the silver medal while New Zealand, a further three strokes behind, took the bronze. The defending champions, the United States, finished fourth.

The 1984 World Cup took place 14–18 November at the Olgiata Golf Club, located 15 miles north of Rome, Italy. It was the 31st World Cup event. The tournament was a stroke play team event with 33 teams and was shortened from 72 holes to 54 holes, since the first day of play was cancelled, two hours after it started, due to heavy rain. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The Spain team of José María Cañizares and José Rivero won by eight strokes over the Taiwan team of Chen Tse-chung and Hsieh Min-nan. It was the fourth Spanish victory in the last eight World Cup tournaments. The individual competition for The International Trophy, was won by Cañizares two strokes ahead of Gordon Brand Jnr, Scotland. Three players also competed as individuals: Roberto De Vicenzo of Argentina, Mohamed Said Moussa of Egypt, and John Jacobs of the United States.

The 1968 World Cup took place 14–17 November at the Olgiata Golf Club in Rome, Italy. It was the 16th World Cup event, which was named the Canada Cup until 1966 and changed its name to the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 42 teams. The third round on Saturday was interrupted by hail and rain storm, with six teams still on the course and play was resumed early Sunday. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The Canadian team of Al Balding and George Knudson won by two strokes ahead of the United States team of Julius Boros and Lee Trevino. The individual competition was won by Balding, five strokes ahead of Roberto Bernardini, Italy. This was the first team victory for Canada in the event, which was founded in Canada in 1953.

Veii (also Veius; Italian: Veio) was an important ancient Etruscan city situated on the southern limits of Etruria and 16 km (9.9 mi) north-northwest of Rome, Italy. It now lies in Isola Farnese, in the comune of Rome. Many other sites associated with and in the city-state of Veii are in Formello, immediately to the north. Formello is named after the drainage channels that were first created by the Veians. Veii was the richest city of the Etruscan League. It was alternately at war and in alliance with the Roman Kingdom and later Republic for over 300 years. It eventually fell in the Battle of Veii to Roman general Camillus's army in 396 BC. Veii continued to be occupied after its capture by the Romans. The site is now a protected area, part of the Parco di Veio established by the regional authority of Lazio in 1997.

The battle of Veii, also known as the siege of Veii, was a battle involving ancient Rome, approximately dated at 396 BC. The main source about it is Livy's Ab Urbe Condita. The battle of Veii was the final battle between the Romans, who were led by Marcus Furius Camillus, who had been elected dictator, and the Etruscan city of Veii. Veii had resisted the Romans in a long and inconclusive war with victories and defeats on both sides. The Romans besieged Veii and dug a tunnel beneath the city. Camillus attacked the city on all sides so as to distract the Veientines. The Romans then emerged from the tunnel and their forces quickly overwhelmed Veii.

The Battle of the Cremera was fought between the Roman Republic and the Etruscan city of Veii, in 477 BC (AUC 277). It most likely occurred on 18 July, although Ovid gives a different date of 13 February.

The sanctuary of Minerva at Portonaccio is an archaeological site on the western side of the plateau on which the ancient Etruscan city of Veii, north of Rome, Italy, was located. The site takes its name from the locality within the village of Isola Farnese, part of Municipio XX, city of Rome. It is important for the elaborate polychrome terracotta decoration that was found here with a quantity and quality unparalleled in Etruria, much of which can be seen in the National Etruscan Museum, in the Villa Giulia, Rome.

The Castello Borgia (also Borgia Castle or Rocca di Nepi) is a 16th-century castle in Nepi, in province of Viterbo, Italy originally refurbished for Lucrezia Borgia. The castle features a large square piazza surrounded by walls on all sides and circular towers at each corner.

Nepi Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Nepi; Basilica Concattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta e Sant'Anastasia) is a Neoclassical Roman Catholic cathedral located in Nepi, region of Lazio, Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and to Saint Anastasia. It was the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Nepi, later Nepi and Sutri, suppressed in 1986, and is now a co-cathedral in the Diocese of Civita Castellana. A church was built on the site in the 5th century, but was destroyed during the Lombard invasion. A larger church was finally erected in the 12th century. This Romanesque edifice was burned by the French forces in 1798. Of the previous building only the crypt remains. The cathedral was rebuilt between 1818 and 1840.
