Sikorsky Aircraft is an American aircraft manufacturer based in Stratford, Connecticut. It was established by famed aviator Igor Sikorsky in 1923 and was among the first companies to manufacture helicopters for civilian and military use. Previously owned by United Technologies Corporation, in November 2015 Sikorsky was sold to Lockheed Martin.

The Ephraim Wheeler House is a historic house at 470 Whippoorwill Lane in Stratford, Connecticut. Probably built in 1743, it is a distinctive example of a rural agricultural farmstead in the community, with a number of features not found in surviving buildings of comparable age. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge (also known as the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge, and as the Housatonic River Bridge) carries the limited-access Merritt Parkway (Connecticut Route 15) over the Housatonic River, between Stratford and Milford, Connecticut. The first bridge on the site, known as the Sikorsky Bridge, was completed in 1940, marking the completion of the Merritt Parkway and the starting point for construction of the adjoining Wilbur Cross Parkway, September 2, 1940. It featured two lanes in each direction, and open steel grid decking that saved cost to stay within budget and was unpopular with drivers. A toll plaza stood at the eastern end of the Sikorsky Bridge until Connecticut abolished tolls in 1988, and is now preserved in Stratford at the Boothe Memorial Park and Museum. The Sikorsky Bridge was named after aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky, whose helicopter factory remains located north of the roadway, along the western riverfront, immediately north of the approach to the bridge (although visibility of the display of his name on that facility -- which in the 21st century operates as a component of United Aircraft Corporation -- has been downgraded. After years of environmental studies, the Connecticut Department of Transportation awarded an $87 million contract to Balfour Beatty Construction to build the replacement bridge, the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge, in 2000. The southern half of the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge opened in 2003; the Sikorsky Bridge was demolished in 2004. In February 2004, the load unexpectedly shifted on a crane that was removing structural steel from the old bridge. The crane overturned and fell into the partially frozen Housatonic River, killing its operator. The remaining half of the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge was completed in 2006, two years behind schedule. The new bridge has a concrete deck, with an asphalt surface, three lanes in each direction, full left and right shoulders, a sidewalk for pedestrians, wrought-iron railing, and aesthetic lighting. The bridge also includes a system of concrete fenders that protects the bridge piers from ship collisions, a feature that was absent from the 1940 span. In 2006, the new bridge was formally dedicated as the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge.

The Nathan B. Booth House is a historic house at 6080 Main Street in the Putney section of the town of Stratford, Connecticut. Built in 1843 for a prosperous farmer, the house is a well-preserved example of transitional Federal-Greek Revival architecture, and the area's only known gable-fronted house of the period. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Boothe Memorial Park and Museum sits on a 32-acre (130,000 m2) site in the Putney section of Stratford, Connecticut. Built about 1840 and remodeled in 1914, it is said to be "The Oldest Homestead in America," since it sits on the foundations of a 1663 house, and has been continuously occupied. Circa 1914 two brothers, David Beach Boothe and Stephen Nichols Boothe, created the Boothe Memorial Museum which maintains a collection of twenty architecturally unique buildings. Some of the structures include a carriage house, Americana Museum, miniature lighthouse, windmill, a clock tower museum, trolley station, chapel, and a blacksmith shop. The property became a public park owned by the town of Stratford in 1949.Boothe Memorial Park and Museum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 1, 1985.

Putney is a section in the north end of Stratford, Connecticut. The area includes Boothe Memorial Park and Museum and Putney Chapel (built c. 1844) and abuts the neighborhood of Oronoque. The area roughly includes all property from Chapel Street and Harry B. Flood Middle School across Connecticut Route 110 and the park to the River Road and Housatonic River.

Fowler Island is the sole island owned by Milford, Connecticut north of I-95 in the Housatonic River. The island is north of the Moses Wheeler Bridge, and south of the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge. The island is uninhabited except for occasional visits by anglers, bird watchers and duck hunters; all transportation to the island is by boat. The island's maximum elevation is approximately 7 feet (2.1 m). The mercury content was evaluated in 2003 at ~300 to 5000 ppb.From 2011 the island was part of a multi-year wetland restoration report by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, NOAA, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The project goal was to eradicate an invasive species of plant known as Phragmites.

St. Mark is a Roman Catholic church in Stratford, Connecticut, part of the Diocese of Bridgeport. The parish is located in Stratford's North End and was founded in 1960 by Bishop Lawrence Shehan.

Milford Ice Pavilion is a 1,000-seat skating rink in Milford, Connecticut. It is home to the Milford Indians co-op high school team, and Sacred Heart University Pioneers men's ice hockey team until 2016. The building opened in 1975 and was renovated in 1985. It also serves several local hockey high school and club level teams. It has been the home of the Sacred Heart hockey program since its inception in 1993. Its sister facility was the Northford Ice Pavilion in North Branford, Connecticut. However, ownership of the Milford Ice recently changed and the two facilities no longer are related (except for the snack bars).

Carting Island is the largest of the four islands owned by Stratford, Connecticut in the Housatonic River between I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. The island is north of the Moses Wheeler Bridge, east of Peacock Island (Connecticut), and southwest of Long Island (Connecticut), and Pope's Flat, it is also south of Fowler Island in Milford and the Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Bridge. The island is uninhabited except for occasional visits by anglers, bird watchers and duck hunters. All transportation to and from the island is by boat. Frank Scott Bunnell High School is an accredited high school in Stratford, Connecticut, United States. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 as part of Stratford Public Schools. The school mascot is the bulldog, and the school colors are blue, gold and white. The Interim Principal as of July, 2021 is Dr. Katie Graf, with Mr. Christopher J. Koch, Mr. John Ramos II, and Mr. Francis Tatto serving as Assistant Principals.

The Housatonic River Railroad Bridge is a historic bridge carrying Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line trackage across the lower Housatonic River in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The bridge is also used by Amtrak for its Northeast Corridor services. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, which also refers to the bridge as the Devon Bridge. It is also referred to as the Devon Railroad Bridge by the state Department of Environmental Protection. It is a "Scherzer Rolling Lift Bascule"-type bascule bridge. It has a steel superstructure and block stone piers. The moveable span is a Warren through truss span. The Connecticut River Railroad Bridge is another bridge of this type in Connecticut which is also NRHP-listed. It is one of eight moveable bridges on the Amtrak route through Connecticut surveyed in one multiple property study in 1986. The eight bridges from west to east are: Mianus River Railroad Bridge at Cos Cob, built in 1904; Norwalk River Railroad Bridge at Norwalk, 1896; Saugatuck River Railroad Bridge at Westport, 1905; Pequonnock River Railroad Bridge at Bridgeport, 1902; Housatonic River Railroad Bridge, at Devon, 1906; Connecticut River Railroad Bridge, Old Saybrook-Old Lyme, 1907; Niantic River Bridge, East Lyme-Waterford, 1907; and Thames River Bridge, Groton, built in 1919.
