Dingmans Falls

Silverthread Falls is a waterfall located in Dingmans Ferry in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States, near Dingmans Falls in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It has a vertical drop of 24.3 m (80 ft). Both Silverthread Falls and Dingmans Falls are visible from a handicap-accessible trail. The trail begins at the parking lot for the Dingmans Falls Visitor Center.

Dingman's Ferry Dutch Reformed Church is a historic Dutch Reformed church located on U.S. Route 209 in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area at Dingman's Ferry, Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. It was designed in 1837, and built in 1850 in the Greek Revival style. It is a two-story, clapboard clad frame building with a gable roof. It features a large gabled portico supported by four heavy Doric order columns.According to the National Park Service, "The Greek Revival style Dutch Reform Church was built in 1850. Its wooden colossal temple front with four heavy fluted columns mimics the stone architecture of ancient Greece. It was converted to a residence in 1957 and has been home to antiques dealer Doug Cosh since 1972. He has leased the property since 1986."It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Dingmans Ferry is an unincorporated community in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of 2014, it had a population of just over 1,000 people. It was originally sited on the Delaware River, in an area now included in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. When the Corps of Engineers acquired the land by eminent domain in the mid-twentieth century for the creation of the proposed Tocks Island Dam project, it relocated the community further up the hill. Local objections to the dam and purchasing of land willingly or by eminent domain had delayed the project for years, but preparations ended for certain when it was learned that the proposed dam site was on a fault line. When the dam project was cancelled, the National Park Service was tasked with managing the property for the Corps so far as public use was concerned. The land purchased by the Corps was converted to the Delaware National Recreation Area. Nearby attractions include Factory Falls, Fulmer Falls, and Deer Leap Falls in Childs Recreation Area and Silverthread Falls and Dingmans Falls, all on Dingmans Creek. Dingmans Ferry is located at 41°13'North, 74°52'West. Dingmans Ferry is now the name of the post office (ZIP Code 18328) that serves Delaware and Porter townships. The post office is located within the borders of Delaware Township. Delaware Township is governed by a Board of Supervisors; there is no mayor of Dingmans Ferry. The community is served by area codes 570 and 272. The Dingmans Ferry Bridge is the last privately owned toll bridge on the Delaware River, and one of the few remaining in the country.The Dingman's Ferry Dutch Reformed Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was converted to a residence in 1957 but was not altered on the exterior, which had wooden columns modelled after Roman marble ones. Dingman-Delaware Primary, Elementary and Middle Schools are located in the area.

The George W. Childs Recreation Site is a former Pennsylvania state park that is the site of a number of cascade waterfalls along Dingmans Creek; it has been part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area since 1983. It is located in Dingmans Ferry in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania and is named for the late newspaper publisher George William Childs, whose widow deeded the land to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1912. The site contains three main waterfalls: Factory Falls, Fulmer Falls and Deer Leap Falls and is a few miles upstream from Dingmans Falls and Silverthread Falls. The pools below the waterfalls were once a popular spot for swimming during its ownership by the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks. However, that activity had been banned upon transfer of ownership to the National Park Service.

Deer Leap Falls is the third waterfall located in the George W. Childs Recreation Site, Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located downstream from the Factory Falls and Fulmer Falls on the Dingmans Creek.It is a popular site for hikers and tourists who want to avoid the more crowded Dingmans Falls, a short hike downstream, or the commercial Bushkill Falls, a very popular tourist attraction in the Pocono Mountains area.

Fulmer Falls is the second waterfall located in the George W. Childs Recreation Site in Dingmans Ferry, Pike County, Pennsylvania, United States of America. The falls are downstream from Factory Falls and upstream from Deer Leap Falls on the Dingmans Creek. At 17 meters (56 feet), it is the largest of the three falls.The falls can be reached at 41°14′12.36″N 74°54′55.62″W from Childs Park Road, west of Lake Road (State Route 2004), 2.6 kilometers (1.6 miles) north of Pennsylvania Route 739.

Camp Massad (Hebrew: מַחֲנֶה מַסָד, Maḥaneh Massad) was a Zionist Jewish summer camp in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, which closed in 1981. Massad's founder, Shlomo Shulsinger, emphasized Hebrew language as a key value in a multi-denominational Zionist Jewish environment. Massad was founded as a day camp in 1941 by the HaNoar Ha'Ivri with thirty campers, and eventually grew to three sleep-away camps in Pennsylvania, Massad Alef, Bet, and Gimmel, collectively known as the Massad Hebrew Camps in the United States (Hebrew: מַחֲנוֹת מַסָד בְּאַרְצוֹת הַבְּרִית) At its peak in the late 1960s, the Massad camps hosted over a thousand campers and staff each summer. In its forty years of existence, the camp strongly influenced both Jewish camping and Hebrew culture in North America.

Birchwood Lakes is a census-designated place located in Delaware Township, Pike County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located off Pennsylvania Route 739 in eastern Pike County, near the New Jersey line. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,386 residents.

The Dingmans Bridge (also known as the Dingman's Ferry Bridge) is a toll bridge across the Delaware River between Delaware Township, Pennsylvania and Sandyston Township, New Jersey. Owned and operated by the Dingmans Choice and Delaware Bridge Company, it is the last privately-owned toll bridge on the Delaware and one of the few remaining in the United States. It is also the only bridge on the Delaware to toll traffic entering New Jersey. The bridge lies south of the Milford–Montague Toll Bridge, and well north of the Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge along Interstate 80. This crossing location is particularly useful for Pennsylvanians commuting to New Jersey or New York City.

Wallpack Ridge (or Walpack Ridge) is a mountain located in the Ridge and Valley Appalachians physiographic province in Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey. Oriented northeast to southwest, Wallpack Ridge spans 25 miles (40 km) from Montague Township south of Port Jervis, New York to the Walpack Bend in the Delaware River near Flatbrookville in Walpack Township. It is a narrow ridge ranging between 0.67 miles (1.08 km) to 1.7 miles (2.7 km) in width, and its highest elevation reaches 928 feet (283 m) above sea level. The ridge separates the Wallpack Valley from the valley of the Delaware River (also known as the Minisink or Minisink Valley), and contains the watershed of the Flat Brook and its main tributaries Big Flat Brook and Little Flat Brook.A controversial project to build a hydroelectric dam and reservoir on the Delaware River in the 1950s and 1960s led to government's seizure of land in northwestern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania under the authority of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The construction of the dam would have created a lake reservoir that would have flooded the Walpack Valley. For political and geological reasons, the dam project was deauthorized and the land transferred to the management of the National Park Service for the establishment of a National Recreation Area. Currently, Wallpack Ridge is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area that was established by the National Park Service in 1978.

The Marie Zimmermann Farm is an historic, American home that is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Bevans, also known as Peters Valley, is an unincorporated community located at the intersection of Bevans Road (County Route 615), Walpack Road (National Park Service Route 615), and Kuhn Road in Sandyston Township of Sussex County, New Jersey. The village is now part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Both the Delaware River and the Old Mine Road are nearby.
