The Rockaway River is a tributary of the Passaic River, approximately 35 mi (56 km) long, in Morris County, New Jersey in the United States. The upper course of the river flows through a wooded mountainous valley, whereas the lower course flows through the populated New Jersey suburbs and former industrial area west of New York City. It drains an area of approximately 130 sq mi (340 km²).

Kearfott is a defense equipment manufacturer founded in 1918 in New Jersey, United States. It is based in Woodland Park. Today the electronics division is part of BAE Systems, while the remaining Kearfott Guidance & Navigation division is a subsidiary of the Astronautics Corporation of America. It also has locations in Black Mountain, North Carolina and Matamoras, Mexico.

The Roseland School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Roseland, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 467 students and 44.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.6:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. Schools in the district (with 2021–22 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are West Essex Middle School with 548 students in grades 7-8 and West Essex High School with 1,048 students in grades 9-12.

Sharkey Landfill is a 90-acre property located in New Jersey along the Rockaway and Whippany rivers in Parsippany, New Jersey. Landfill operations began in 1945, and continued until September 1972, when large amounts of toluene, benzene, chloroform, dichloroethylene, and methylene chloride were found, all of which have are a hazard to human health causing cancer and organ failure. Sharkey Landfill was put on the National Priority List (or NPL) in 1983, and clean up operations ran until the site was deemed as not a threat in 2004.

Foulerton's Brook is a tributary of the Passaic River in Roseland, New Jersey in the United States.Foulerton's Brook was rerouted during the construction of Interstate 280 to run behind the Essex County Golf Facility.

Pine Brook (sometimes spelled Pinebrook) is an unincorporated community located within Montville Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 07058. The Pine Brook Speedway, which operated from July 1962 until October 1989, was designed for midget car racing and became one of the earliest sites for microstock racing. Mario Andretti raced at the track and had some of his earliest success as a race car driver at the Speedway.

Beaufort was a railway station on the Morristown and Erie Railway in Roseland, New Jersey in the United States. The same name is also rarely used for the neighborhood of southwestern Roseland near the former railway station. The station building currently houses the Orange-Alden Fuel Company. That address is 10 Eisenhower Parkway in Roseland and is near the Livingston border. The Beaufort station was located not far from what is today Beaufort Avenue in Livingston. Before the Eisenhower Parkway was built Beaufort Avenue continued from Livingston to Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland. The station was started in 1904 when residents of the neighborhood constructed a wooden shed to serve as a station along the M&E, whose passengers were familiar with multiple flag stop stations along the line but wanted regularly scheduled service to their neighborhood. Eventually the Morristown and Erie Railway company constructed the station building that stands today. Passenger service along the line stopped in 1928.

Riker Hill Fossil Site (also referred to as Walter Kidde Dinosaur Park) is a 16-acre (6.5 ha) paleontological site in Roseland in Essex County, New Jersey, United States, located at the south western side of the borough at the border between Roseland and Livingston. It is one of the major sites in United States where a large number of dinosaur tracks are preserved. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in June 1971.

The Samuel Orton Harrison House, located in West Caldwell in Essex County, New Jersey, United States, was selected for inclusion in the Historic American Buildings Survey (1937) as significantly representative of Greek Revival architectural style. The dwelling was built between 1830 and 1840 and remained in possession of Mrs. Hannah Harrison until 1946 when the property was sold to historic preservationist Raymond Dey. At the time of sale the structure was virtually unchanged from its initial build. Dey subsequently performed renovations and minor alterations to the first floor plan to enable continued use as a private residence. Under subsequent ownership the house was placed on the National Register of Historic Placeson October 26, 1979.The property came under threat as the estate of the late Sandford Cole was being probated during the peak of a highly speculative real estate market in 2007. The town, eager to reassert manifest destiny and rid itself of an albatross of history, quickly approved demolition. The structure was razed without notice much to the sadness of many local residents.As for Timothy Cole's share of the estate, it has since been largely dissipated in the securities markets by the estate managers for the late Sandford S. Cole.

Roseland is a borough in western Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 6,299, an increase of 480 (+8.2%) from the 2010 census count of 5,819, which in turn reflected an increase of 521 (+9.8%) from the 5,298 counted in the 2000 census.In 2015, New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Roseland as its seventh-best place to live in its "Best Places To Live" in New Jersey rankings. The borough was ranked 14th best place to live in the magazine's 2008 rankings. In 2017, New Jersey Monthly Ranked Roseland as its 106th best place to live in its 2017 Rankings. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Roseland as its 14th best place to live in New Jersey in its 2019 rankings.

The Simon Van Duyne House is a historic house located at 58 Maple Avenue in the Pine Brook section of the township of Montville in Morris County, New Jersey. The oldest section was built c. 1750. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. The house was later added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 1992, for its significance in architecture. The house was also listed as part of the Dutch Stone Houses in Montville, New Jersey Multiple Property Submission (MPS).

James Caldwell High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in West Caldwell, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Caldwell-West Caldwell Public Schools, which serves students from both Caldwell and West Caldwell. The school is named after American Revolutionary War figure Reverend James Caldwell. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1928.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 843 students and 78.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.8:1. There were 53 students (6.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 4 (0.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
