Lachlan is a rural residential locality in the local government area of Derwent Valley in the South-east region of Tasmania. It is located about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of the town of New Norfolk. The 2016 census determined a population of 841 for the state suburb of Lachlan.

Lawitta is a rural locality in the local government area (LGA) of Derwent Valley in the South-east LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north-west of the town of New Norfolk. The 2016 census recorded a population of 232 for the state suburb of Lawitta.

Hayes Prison Farm, a former Australian minimum security prison for males, was established on land at Hayes, near New Norfolk, Tasmania. The facility was operated by the Tasmanian Prison Service, an agency of the Department of Justice of the Government of Tasmania. Located on 800 hectares (2,000 acres), the facility accepted felons convicted under Tasmanian and/or Commonwealth legislation. The facility was closed in late 2012.

The Blair Street Bridge is a concrete and steel girder bridge carrying the Lyell Highway through the township of New Norfolk across the River Derwent in Tasmania, Australia. Completed in 1974, the Blair Street Bridge is the fourth bridge to be constructed at New Norfolk. The bridge's steel girders were built by Russell Allport & Co on Sunderland Street in Moonah, Tasmania.

New Norfolk High School is a government co-educational comprehensive secondary school located in New Norfolk, Tasmania, Australia. The school caters for approximately 350 students from Years 7 to 12 and is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education.In 2019 student enrolments were 314. The school principal is Adam Potito.

New Norfolk (Leenowwenne/palawa kani: wulawali) is a town on the River Derwent, in the south-east of Tasmania, Australia. With a population of 6,153 in 2021, New Norfolk is the principal township of the Derwent Valley region. Located within the Derwent Valley Council, New Norfolk is situated 32 kilometres (20 mi) north-west of the state capital Hobart on the Lyell Highway and classified as part of the Greater Hobart statistical area.Established in 1807, New Norfolk ranks as Tasmania's third-oldest European settlement after Hobart and George Town. It was primarily founded by evacuees relocated from Norfolk Island. The Division of Wilmot was an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Tasmania. It was located in central Tasmania, and was named after Sir John Eardley-Wilmot, the sixth Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania. At various times it included the towns of Deloraine, Beaconsfield, Devonport, Latrobe, and New Norfolk. The Division was proclaimed on 2 October 1903, when Tasmania was first divided into Divisions, and was first contested at the 1903 Federal election. At the electoral redistribution of 12 September 1984, it was abolished and replaced by the Division of Lyons, to jointly honour Joseph Lyons, the tenth Prime Minister of Australia, who held Wilmot at the federal level from 1929–1939 and at the state level from 1909 to 1929, and his wife Dame Enid Lyons, the first woman elected to the Australian House of Representatives in 1943 and subsequently the first female member of Cabinet (1949–51).

Boyer Oval is the home headquarters of the New Norfolk District Football Club and the Molesworth Cricket Club. The ground is a former Tasmanian Football League venue, being the host venue of 825 official TFL matches for New Norfolk (and one game for Hobart in 1974) in TFL football from 1947 to 1999 and from 2000 it became a venue for SFL football when New Norfolk were demoted from the Statewide League. It is located on First Avenue and has a back entrance on Back River Road (behind the club's licensed clubrooms) at New Norfolk, 38 kilometres north-west of the Hobart CBD.

Magra is a rural residential locality in the local government areas (LGA) of Brighton (7%), Southern Midlands (9%) and Derwent Valley (84%) in the Hobart, Central and South-east LGA regions of Tasmania. The locality is about 26 kilometres (16 mi) west of the town of Brighton. The 2016 census recorded a population of 699 for the state suburb of Magra. It is in the Derwent Valley a few kilometres north of New Norfolk.
