The Rabbinical College of America is a Chabad Lubavitch Chasidic yeshiva in Morristown, New Jersey. The Yeshiva is under the direction of Rabbi Moshe Herson. The growth of the Yeshiva college has had a significant cultural effect on the community and has influenced many Jewish families to move into the area to be near the Yeshiva and the surrounding synagogues. It is supported by Jewish philanthropists such as David T. Chase and Ronald Lauder of Estée Lauder Inc.Licensed by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education, the Yeshiva grants a four-year Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies accredited by the Association of Advanced Rabbinical and Talmudic Schools.The college is located on an 82-acre (330,000 m2) campus in Morris Township, New Jersey. The campus is the New Jersey Headquarters of the Chabad Lubavitch movement.

The Seeing Eye, Inc. is a guide dog school located in Morristown, New Jersey, in the United States. Founded in 1929, the Seeing Eye is the oldest guide dog school in the U.S., and one of the largest. The Seeing Eye campus includes administrative offices, dormitory residence for students, a veterinary care center, and kennels; there is also a breeding station in Chester, NJ. A founding member of the U.S. Council of Guide Dog Schools and a fully accredited member of the International Guide Dog Federation, The Seeing Eye is a lead researcher in canine genetics, breeding, disease control, and behavior.

Morris Township is a township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 22,974, an increase of 668 (+3.0%) from the 2010 census count of 22,306, which in turn reflected an increase of 510 (+2.3%) from the 21,796 counted in the 2000 census. The township was named for Lewis Morris, colonial governor of New Jersey.Located along the Morris and Essex Lines, the township is a wealthy bedroom community, with many residents traveling to work in nearby New York City on NJ Transit which provides commuters with direct access to New York Penn Station and to Hoboken Terminal.The township is the "doughnut" around Morristown and completely surrounds it, with at least five times the area, though near Morris Plains the width of Morris Township is less than a mile. For 115 years, Morristown was part of Morris Township. The initial separation of Morristown from Morris Township occurred on April 6, 1865. A confusing state of affairs followed for nearly thirty years. On February 18, 1895, the separation was officiated.Morris Township is home to the Morris County Golf Club and the Morris Museum, which is the second largest museum in New Jersey and has been in operation since 1913. The township is also home to the Morristown National Historical Park which in 1933 became the country's first National Historical Park.

The Timothy Mills House is a historic house built c. 1740 and located at 27 Mills Street in the town of Morristown in Morris County, New Jersey. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1939. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 24, 1975, for its significance in architecture.

The Province of New Jersey was one of the Middle Colonies of Colonial America and became the U.S. state of New Jersey in 1776. The province had originally been settled by Europeans as part of New Netherland but came under English rule after the surrender of Fort Amsterdam in 1664, becoming a proprietary colony. The English renamed the province after the island of Jersey in the English Channel. The Dutch Republic reasserted control for a brief period in 1673–1674. After that it consisted of two political divisions, East Jersey and West Jersey, until they were united as a royal colony in 1702. The original boundaries of the province were slightly larger than the current state, extending into a part of the present state of New York, until the border was finalized in 1773.

Villa Walsh Academy is a private Catholic college preparatory school for girls in seventh through twelfth grades located in Morristown, New Jersey, United States, conducted by the Religious Teachers Filippini. The school is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson, operating on an independent basis. Its brother school is Delbarton School, with which it shares a transportation system. Villa Walsh Academy is overseen by the New Jersey Department of Education and has accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1987; the school's accreditation expires in May 2023. The school is a member of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.Villa Walsh Academy characterizes itself as one of the most selective in the state of New Jersey, with 50 students enrolled from 210 applicants. Fort Nonsense is one of four sites comprising the Morristown National Historical Park, in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Two other sites in Morris County are the Ford Mansion and Jockey Hollow. The fourth is the New Jersey Brigade Encampment Site in Bernardsville, Somerset County. Fort Nonsense occupies a high hilltop overlooking Morristown, and is believed to have been the site of a signal fire or smoke signal, along with earthworks. It was originally built at the order of General George Washington in 1777 for use during the American Revolutionary War that began in 1775 and was ended in 1783 by the Treaty of Paris.

Morristown High School (MHS) is a four-year public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from three communities in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Morris School District. The school serves students from Morristown and Morris Township, along with students from Morris Plains, who attend the district's high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Morris Plains Schools. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1952.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,820 students and 136.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.3:1. There were 207 students (11.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 34 (1.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.MHS receives students from Frelinghuysen Middle School, Morris Plains Borough School, and several public and private middle schools.

The 1783 New Jersey earthquake occurred on November 29 in the Province of New Jersey. With a magnitude estimated at 5.3, it stands as the most powerful earthquake to occur in the state.

The All Souls' Hospital was a Catholic hospital based in Morristown, New Jersey. It was run in part by the Grey Nuns of Montreal. Its founding chair was Paul Revere, lawyer, civic leader, and great-grandson of American revolutionary figure Paul Revere. The hospital's goal was to "care [for] the diseased, disabled, and infirm, and [other such] charitable work."Its Morristown location used the historic Arnold's Tavern building from the 1770s, which was moved from the Morristown Green to Julia Keese Colles's property. When a 1918 fire destroyed the Tavern, the Hospital was rebuilt across the street and continued to serve the community until the 1970s.

Morris County Courthouse is located on Washington Street between Court Street and Western Avenue in the town of Morristown in Morris County, New Jersey. The courthouse was built in 1827 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 19, 1977, for its significance in architecture and politics/government. It was added as a contributing property of the Morristown Historic District on November 13, 1986.
