East China University of Science and Technology station

The East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST; Chinese: 华东理工大学; pinyin: Huádōng Lǐgōng Dàxué) is a public university located in Shanghai, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. Established in 1952 as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, it has evolved from an institution with a strong focus on chemical engineering into a university that covers a wide range of academic disciplines.

Shanghai High School (Chinese: 上海中学) is a public high school in Shanghai, China. It has an international division, the Shanghai High School International Division.

Lunghua Civil Assembly Centre was one of the internment camps established by the Empire of Japan in Shanghai for European and American citizens, who had been resident under Japanese occupation since December 1941. Many had formerly lived in Shanghai within the Shanghai International Settlement before its occupation by the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA). British author J. G. Ballard was interned in the camp as an adolescent. His experiences there inspired the semi-auto biographical novel Empire of the Sun, which inspired the 1987 motion picture.

Shanghainan (Shanghai South) railway station (Chinese: 上海南站; pinyin: Shànghǎi Nánzhàn; Shanghainese: Zånhae Nuezae) is a railway station in the city of Shanghai, China. In the Xuhui District, its importance is second only to the Shanghai railway station. After extensive renovation that was finished in 2006, the station features a modern circular design, the first of its kind in the world. The station was expected to handle 15 million passengers annually.Shanghai South serves most trains to cities of Zhejiang (including Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Ningbo, Jinhua and Wenzhou) and the Southern provinces of China, excluding the Shanghai-Hong Kong Route. Without a Customs/Immigration checkpoint it is not capable of clearing passengers straight to Hong Kong; until such a checkpoint is constructed the Shanghai–Kowloon through train will continue to depart from Shanghai station. It is also possible to catch high-speed services to West Kowloon station in Hong Kong via Shanghai Hongqiao railway station: - customs and immigration clearance is done in Hong Kong.Shanghai South railway station also serves as the starting point for the Jinshan railway, running via Xinzhuang in Minhang District to Jinshanwei in Jinshan District, crossing the Huangpu River on a dedicated railway bridge.Shanghai Metro lines 1, 3, and 15 also serve this station with entrances inside the main train station.

Jinjiang Park (simplified Chinese: 锦江乐园; traditional Chinese: 錦江樂園; pinyin: Jǐnjiāng Lèyuán) is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 1. Before April 19, 2001 it was known as Hongmei Road station which is now the name of a different station on Line 12. The station is part of the first southern extension of the line which opened on 10 April 1995. During the time the metro line was open for public testing this station was the southern terminus. Later three more stations were added to the south of this station: Lianhua Road, Waihuanlu and Xinzhuang.

Shanghai South Railway Station (Chinese: 上海南站; pinyin: Shànghǎi Nánzhàn) is an interchange station between Lines 1, 3 and 15 of the Shanghai Metro. It is the southern terminus of Line 3. Both the metro station and the associated railway station were formerly named Xinlonghua (simplified Chinese: 新龙华; traditional Chinese: 新龍華; pinyin: Xīnlónghuá) when Line 1 first opened on 28 May 1993. The interchange with Line 3 opened with the opening of that line on 26 December 2000. The interchange with line 15 opened on 23 January 2021.

Luoxiu Road (simplified Chinese: 罗秀路; traditional Chinese: 羅秀路; pinyin: Luóxiù Lù) is a metro station on the Line 15 of the Shanghai Metro. Located at the intersection of Laohumin Road and Luoxiu Road in Xuhui District, Shanghai, the station was scheduled to open with the rest of Line 15 by the end of 2020. However, the station eventually opened on 23 January 2021 following a one-month postponement. The station is located between East China University of Science and Technology to the north and Zhumei Road to the south.

The Shanghai Botanical Garden (Chinese: 上海植物园) is a botanic garden located in the southwestern suburbs of Shanghai, China, (around 12 km southwest of the city centre) in the Xuhui District. Covering 81.86 hectares, the garden has a renowned penjing garden, as well as collections of magnolias, roses, azaleas, peonies, conifers, maples, osmanthus and bamboo.

On June 28, 2018, in the Xuhui District of Shanghai, China, three boys and a female parent were stabbed with a knife near the gate of the West Campus of the Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School at Pubei Road, Shanghai. Two boys who attended died, and another student and parent were injured. The suspect, Huang Yichuan, was arrested by the Procuratorate the next day.On December 6, 2018, the first trial of the case was held. The murder was found to be the result of the defendant's hopelessness for life and his desire for revenge on society. The prosecutor pointed out that Huang Yichuan had schizophrenia. On May 23, 2019, The First Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai decided that Huang's mental illness did not affect his ability to control his own behavior. The court then imposed the death penalty, as well as depriving his political rights for life. On December 30, 2019, the Shanghai Senior People's Court rejected the appeal on Huang Yichuan's ruling, upheld the original judgment, and submitted it to the Supreme People's Court for approval. On December 3, 2020, Huang Yichuan was executed.

Meilong railway station (simplified Chinese: 梅陇站; traditional Chinese: 梅隴站; pinyin: Méilǒng zhàn) was a railway station in Shanghai which has now been abolished in favor of the new Shanghai South railway station. It was located near Jinjiang Action Park, serving regular trains to and from Hangzhou.

Aurora University (French: Université l'Aurore, Chinese: 震旦大學; pinyin: Zhèndàn Dàxué) was a Catholic university in Shanghai from 1903 to 1952.The university was founded on 27 February 1903 by Joseph Ma Xiangbo, S.J. and French Jesuits. In 1905, Ma resigned to establish Fudan University, and Aurora was thereafter run by French Jesuits until the Communist Revolution. From 1908 onwards, it was located in Shanghai's French Concession. "By the 1940s, the institution had grown to become one of the largest, if not the largest, among Shanghai’s private universities and included faculties of Law, Medicine, Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Literature, along with a Preparatory Course,Women’s College, nursing program, dental training, a renowned natural sciences museum (Le Musée Heude), and a number of associated collèges and lycées in Shanghai and other cities throughout Jiangnan."In 1952, Aurora University merged into East China Normal University and Fudan University, while the chemistry department was absorbed by the newly founded East China Institute of Chemical Technology and the medical school joined the Shanghai Second Medical College.

Zhumei Road (Chinese: 朱梅路; pinyin: Zhūméi Lù) is a metro station on the Line 15 of the Shanghai Metro. Located at the intersection of Laohumin Road and Zhumei Road on the border between Xuhui District and Minhang district, Shanghai, the station was scheduled to open with the rest of Line 15 by the end of 2020. However, the station eventually opened on 23 January 2021 following a one-month postponement. The station is located between Luoxiu Road to the north and West Huajing to the south.
