Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) is a private Christian School that serves more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: PCA Plano in Plano (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 10th grade as of Fall 2020; PCA North will continue to add a new grade with the Class of 2023 planned as the first high school graduating class) and Virtual Academy. It is affiliated with Prestonwood Baptist Church and is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International. In addition to a spiritual development plan, the school follows a liberal arts academic program. PCA is both the name of the main campuses and the overall school system which it operates. In addition to PCA Plano, PCA North, and PCAplus, the system also includes St. Timothy Christian Academy, a K-12 school for students with learning challenges (St. Timothy is located at the Plano campus), and The King's Academy (TKA), a private school which began operations in Fall 2019 in the Bonton area of South Dallas with K4-1st grade. TKA intends to open a new grade every year thereafter.

Prestonwood Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist multi-site megachurch, with locations in Plano, Texas (the Plano Campus) and Prosper, Texas (the North Campus). It is one of the largest churches in America, with a membership of over 45,000 and a weekly attendance of around 17,000. The Plano campus covers an area of 140 acres (0.219 sq mi; 0.567 km2), and includes a 7,000-seat worship center, a school offering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 (including a football stadium, a baseball field, and a fieldhouse for basketball and volleyball), a fitness center with outdoor sports fields, a café, a library, and a bookstore. In 2006, the church expanded to include a second campus of nearly 128 acres (0.200 sq mi; 0.518 km2) in Prosper. The North Campus also has a school (K-10 as of fall 2020 with plans to expand one grade each year, so that the Class of 2023 will be North's first graduating class).

Graham Field is a baseball park located on the campus of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX and was the home of the TCL Plano Blue Sox for the 2006 season. The team was one of the original members of the Texas Collegiate League as the Highland Park Blue Sox in 2004 and 2005 before moving to Plano. The main tenants of Graham Field are the Prestonwood Christian Academy Lions baseball team.

Plano West Senior High School (commonly West, Plano West, or PWSH) is a public high school in Plano, Texas serving high school juniors and seniors. Plano West is named after its geographic location within West Plano. The school is part of the Plano Independent School District, and enrolls students based on the locations of students' homes. Students at Plano West attended one of two high schools: Jasper or Shepton. The combination of these two schools for 9th and 10th graders into the Plano West student body creates graduating classes of 1300-1500 students annually. Plano West was formed in the fall of 1999 as a newly renovated, former Shepton High School. Shepton High School then moved to 5505 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093. Plano West is accredited by the Texas Education Agency, which designates the school as "Recognized." The school colors are royal blue, black, and white, and the mascot is the wolf, with the students recognizing the student body as "the wolf-pack." The school is ranked as 22nd in the nation, and as the #1 comprehensive high school in the State of Texas, according to Newsweek's 2016 list of best public high schools.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a 200-acre park in Plano, Texas. It has several amenities including 3 miles of paved hiking trail, 3 miles of unpaved hiking trail, a 2.8 mile off-road bike trail, restrooms, a covered pavilion, and a playground. The pavilion can be reserved for special events. An observation tower provides a bird's eye view of the park. There are three regions in the park: Blackland Prairie, Riparian Forest, and Upland Forest. A pond in the preserve is named after Vasil Levski. Birds that live in the park include killdeer, owls, woodpeckers, egrets, herons, scissor-tailed flycatcher, and turkey vulture. Many other wildlife such as deer, coyotes, snakes, bobcats, turtles, fish, and rabbits also live in the park.

Shepton High School is a secondary school in Plano, Texas (USA), serving grades nine and ten. It is part of the Plano Independent School District. In Plano ISD, high school freshmen and sophomores attend one of six high schools. Juniors and seniors attend "senior high schools." Renner and Frankford middle schools feed into Shepton. Shepton High School feeds into Plano West Senior High School along with Jasper High School. Shepton High School maintains a population of over 1,500 students. Kathy King was the principal for eight years ending with the 2005-2006 school year. Burt Smith held the role from 2006–12, during which he won the Texas Association of School Administrators "Administrator of the Year" award for the region.

Hebron High School (HHS) is one of five public high schools in the Lewisville Independent School District and is located in Carrollton, Texas. The school opened in 1999 and was the fourth high school to do so in its district. It services communities from far west Plano, southwest Frisco, small portions of far east The Colony, far north Carrollton, and far southeast Lewisville. Hebron serves grades ten through twelve; ninth graders attend the adjacent Hebron High School 9th Grade Campus. In 2015, the school was rated “Met Standard” by the Texas Education Agency. Hebron is currently classified as a 6A school by the University Interscholastic League.

Yorktown Education is a non-profit private school for students ages 5 – 18 years in Plano, Texas.

Shepton is an area within Plano, Texas, United States that used to be a distinct community. Shepton was founded about 1890, when Joseph W. Shepard opened a general store ten miles southwest of McKinney, with the town deriving its name from Shepard's. From 1894 to 1903, Shepton had a post office, but most residents migrated over the years to nearby Plano, also in southwestern Collin County, with the growing Plano absorbing the area of the former community by the 1980s. Shepton High School is named after the town of Shepton.

The University of Plano was an American private liberal arts college located in Plano, Texas that was in operation from 1964 until 1977. The University of Plano received its charter from the State of Texas on May 8, 1964 as a private, coeducational, nondenominational institution. The school was originally called the University of Lebanon, changing its name effective September 4, 1964 to reflect the location of its campus. The university's first classes were held in space leased in downtown Dallas in the fall of 1965. The school was founded in 1964 by Robert J. Morris, an attorney and former judge known as an anti-Communist. Morris had served as chief counsel the United States Senate Subcommittee on Internal Security. Morris had been the president of the University of Dallas from 1960 to 1962. Building on the difficulties faced by one of his children, Morris founded the school in 1964. He remained at the school until 1977 and it closed its doors shortly thereafter. Morris decided to build a school focusing on the Doman-Delacato Method. Using $250,000 borrowed from Republic National Life of Dallas, he put a down payment on 680 acres (2.8 km2) of land in northwest Plano. With $600,000 raised from a bond issue, he persuaded the government of Malaysia to donate to the school the nation's pavilion from the 1964 New York World's Fair, with the pagoda becoming the main building of the university. The school had no endowment to speak of, other than the land where its campus was located on Custer Road. The school's finances depended on rising values for the land it had purchased, based on the assumption that the growth of the Dallas area would push residential development towards Plano and hopes that portions of the land could be rezoned for commercial use, both of which would drive up the value of the land. Property purchased by Morris for the University in 1964 for $1,800 an acre, sold in 1969 for $3,000 an acre, and could obtain as much as $6,300 an acre by 1971. 15 acres (61,000 m2) of the school's land was rezoned for a shopping center and an additional 4 acres (16,000 m2) was rezoned for small retail. Despite warnings offered as far back as 1967, the school developed a heavy reliance on land speculation to meet its expenses. With the end of the land boom in 1975, the school was unable to use land sales to fund its activities. The school ran short of funds in 1976, and despite ownership of 698 acres (2.82 km2) and twenty buildings, was forced to close in July 1976. Records from the former University are not complete and many are not available as they were privately held by Dr. Robert Morris for some time. The chain of custody is unclear and many graduates have been unable to recover records. An alumni site was available at Universityofplano.org. Though still registered as of June 2017, the site only has a parking redirect link from GoDaddy.com.

Northwest Plano Park & Ride is a new bus-only station located on Communications Parkway in Plano, Texas (U.S.A.). Owned and operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), this new Park & Ride station brings improved bus service to the Legacy area. It is one of the few DART transit centers outside the Dallas County area. The new facility will be accessible from downtown Dallas by express bus service during rush hours and the extension of a local route during the midday Monday through Friday. Additional routes will serve local shopping and employment destinations in the Legacy and Granite Park areas, and connections will be available to both Parker Road Station and Jack Hatchell Transit Center. DART's new paid parking program (named "Fair Share"), will also be in operation.

The REC Diocese of Mid-America, with the Convocation of the West and Western Canada, is a Reformed Episcopal Church and an Anglican Church in North America diocese, since its foundation in 2009. The REC Diocese of Mid-America is distinct from a diocese of the same name of the Anglican Province of America, which is not affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America. It has 34 congregations, 32 in 12 American states, which are Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin, and 2 congregations in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas. The Bishop Ordinary was the late Royal U. Grote, Jr., replaced upon his death by the Bishop Coadjutor, Ray R. Sutton.
