Newquay Tretherras School is a secondary school with academy status in Newquay, Cornwall, England. The current headteacher is Samantha Fairbairn. The school first opened on 7 January 1954 and first secondary modern school to be built in Newquay. On 29 May 1954, the original Tretherras County school was officially opened by Florence Horsbrugh C.B.E. (Minister of Education). As of September 2019, the new 'Quay' school building officially opened. This would replace the original 1950s Tretherras County School building which was demolished in 2019.

Lusty Glaze (Cornish: Lostyn Glas, meaning "a place to view blue boats") also known as Lusty Glaze Beach, is a beach in Newquay, Cornwall. Lusty Glaze is privately owned, notably to the low watermark. For much of the year, the beach is open, free of charge to the public. The only access to the beach is via 133 steps. For many years the current owner operated the UK's first dedicated Rescue Training Centre and Outdoor Activity Centre. Today, Lusty Glaze hosts a wide variety of weddings and events, offers accommodation in the original beach cottage, constructed in 1921 and a range of beach cabins or pods. The cove is naturally sheltered by high cliffs. The current owner, Tracey Griffiths, purchased the site in 1999.Lusty Glaze is home to a thriving Surf Lifesaving club. It was the southern terminus of the abortive St Columb Canal, parts of which were built in the 1770s, and although the southern section was probably never used, the remains of the inclined plane that connected the beach to the canal on the cliff top 100 feet (30 m) above are still clearly visible.

Trevelgue Head, also known as Porth Island, is a headland north-east of Newquay, Cornwall, England, next to Porth at the eastern end of Newquay Bay. It is the site of an Iron Age promontory fort with defensive ramparts and two round barrows dating from the early Bronze Age.

Treviglas Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Newquay, Cornwall, England. The age range of the students is 11 to 18. The original buildings were opened in the early 1960s but further development has taken place on a regular basis ever since, such as the library, information technology rooms and science facilities as well as the post-16 learning centre. Treviglas opened a new sports facility, The Dome, in October 2001 and, in February 2004, a new dedicated sixth form and community learning block was opened. The SportsHub, funded by Sport England, opened in 2012. From the playing fields there are views to the sea dropping down toward Porth, with the village of St Columb Minor neighbouring the college. As of January 2019, Treviglas Community College became part of The Roseland Multi Academy Trust and became Treviglas Academy. Treviglas was the first school in the county to receive Business and Enterprise status and was awarded an overall Outstanding by Ofsted for the second consecutive time in their second most recent inspection (2012). As of July 2017 the school has now been judged Inadequate by OfSTED in their most recent inspection. The college focuses on core academic subjects and vocational training for students, including Post-16 academies which teach students lifelong learning and work place skills at A-Level. The college has around 900 students. This includes around 120 in the sixth form centre. The college draws students from 13 primary schools, including the town of Newquay and surrounding rural communities.

St Columb Minor (Cornish: Sen Kolumm Vyghan) (Latin: Columba Minor Sancta) is a village on the north coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. St Columb alone by default refers to the nearby St Columb Major; both the town and the village are named after the 6th century saint Columba of Cornwall and have churches dedicated to her. The village of St Columb Minor dates back to the 11th century, however a settlement existed much earlier under the Manor of Rialton, it has now been encroached upon by its larger neighbour Newquay. Whilst the village is still an ecclesiastical parish, St Columb Minor is no longer a civil parish, forming part of Newquay.

Newquay Zoo is a zoological garden located within Trenance Leisure Park in Newquay, England. The zoo was opened in Cornwall on Whit Monday, 26 May 1969 by the local council (Newquay Urban District Council, later Restormel District Council). It was privately owned by Mike Thomas and Roger Martin from 1993 until 2003. In August 2003 Stewart Muir became the new Director and the zoo became part of the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, alongside Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts. The zoo is part of a registered charity, and was awarded various South West and Cornwall 'Visitor Attraction of The Year' and 'Sustainable Tourism' awards for excellence in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Newquay Zoo is now run as part of the Wild Planet Trust, the new name for the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Nansledan is a major new suburb of Newquay in Cornwall, England. Nansledan has been developed by the estate of the Duchy of Cornwall since 2013, with residents first occupying their homes in 2015. The development, officially described as 'an extension of Newquay', had the endorsement of King Charles III during his time as Duke of Cornwall.Nansledan is expected to have up to 4,400 homes once completed.

The Great Western Hotel is the oldest purpose-built hotel in Newquay, Cornwall. The hotel was originally designed by the Cornish architect Silvanus Trevail and first opened in April 1879. The hotel is built in a prominent position overlooking Great Western Beach. The hotel has 66 rooms, some with sea-views.

Newquay railway station (Cornish: Tewynblustri) serves the town and seaside resort of Newquay in Cornwall, England. It is the terminus of the Atlantic Coast Line from Par, 302 miles 49 chains (302.61 miles, 487.01 km) from the zero point at London Paddington measured via Box and Plymouth Millbay. The station is situated in the heart of Newquay, close to the town centre itself and the beaches. The station is managed by Great Western Railway which operates local branch line services to and from Par. In the summer, there are also services to and from London.
