As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 293 and an area of 4.6 square kilometres (1.8 sq mi). Vaglio Serra borders the following municipalities: Cortiglione, Incisa Scapaccino, Nizza Monferrato, and Vinchio. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato [1]

Canelli (Piedmontese: Canèj) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region of Piedmont. As of 31 January 2024 it has a population of 10,022 Canelli is located on a bend of the river Belbo in the Alto Monferrato (High Monferrat), close to the border with the Langhe. The area around the town is rich in vineyards. The area is believed to be the birthplace of the Italian sparkling wine Asti. The village's history of the wine is still evident today with the popular synonym of Muscat Canelli that is still used for the Moscato grape used to produce the wine. The neighbouring comuni are Bubbio, Calamandrana, Calosso, Cassinasco, Loazzolo, Moasca and San Marzano Oliveto in the province of Asti, and Santo Stefano Belbo in the province of Cuneo. On 22 June 2014, Canelli along with Asti Spumante was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As of 31 January 2024, it had a population of 1,112 and an area of 15.7 square kilometres (6.1 sq mi). The comune borders the following municipalities: Agliano Terme, Canelli, Castiglione Tinella, Costigliole d'Asti, Moasca, and Santo Stefano Belbo. The village itself, together with its castle, stands on a hill surrounded by the vineyards which represent its principal economic activity.

The Tinella, the principal tributary of the Belbo, is a minor stream of Piedmont in northwestern Italy whose course falls entirely within the Province of Cuneo.
