Base Borden Military Museum

The Royal Canadian Air Force Academy (RCAFA) is a Canadian Forces training establishment for non-commissioned members who serve with units of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Based at CFB Borden in central Ontario, it is a unit of fhe RCAF's 16 Wing. It also reports to the 2 Canadian Air Division, which is itself dedicated to the training of RCAF personnel. The RCAFA consists of more than 1,800 students who led by an administrative team consisting of 43 regular force and reservist officers. The school itself is headed by Major Colleen Halpin and Master Warrant Officer Jason Dunfield.In the early 1990s, the Canadian Forces Air Command became interested in establishing educational facilities to enhance its effectiveness in commissioning officers. As a result, three Junior Leadership schools based in Summerside, Prince Edward Island and Penhold, Alberta were closed and reassigned to the Air Command Professional Development and Training Centre (ACPDTC) in Borden, Ontario. The RCAF Academy began its operations in renovated post-World War II barracks. In addition, the Air Force Indoctrination School Detachment in St-Jean, Quebec, as well as the Canadian Forces School of Air Reserve Training in Penhold also saw their cadets move to Borden. The ACPDTC was officially opened in 1994, and was renamed the Air Command Academy in October 2004.The motto of the RCAFA is "Discimus Ducere" (Learn to Lead).

Canadian Forces Base Borden (also CFB Borden, French: Base des Forces canadiennes Borden or BFC Borden), formerly RCAF Station Borden, is a large Canadian Forces base located in Ontario. The historic birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force, CFB Borden is home to the largest training wing in the Canadian Armed Forces. The base is run by Canadian Forces Support Training Group (CFSTG) and reports to the Canadian Defence Academy (CDA) in Kingston.

Essa is a township in Ontario, Canada, west and south of the city of Barrie in Simcoe County. The township is well known for its agriculture industry, particularly potato farming. Nearby CFB Borden brings a strong military presence to the area as well, including a high number of Francophone families.

Fort Willow was a strategically located fortified supply depot during the War of 1812. The area was also actively used for centuries by the First Nations, the fur trade and French Explorers as part of a major transportation route known as the Nine Mile Portage.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is located in the New Tecumseth community of Alliston, Ontario. The hospital is considered a medium-size community hospital with 41 in-patient beds and many outpatient services. in the 2019-2020 fiscal year there were 2,627 inpatient stays with an average length of stay of 4.2 days, and 35,500 emergency department visits.T.P. Loblaw donated the funds to create the hospital in 1928 as a tribute to his grandparents, William and Elizabeth Stevenson. The hospital is led by CEO Jody Levac. Jody is the third CEO to come from Southlake Regional Health Center through a management services agreement. In the hospital Board in August 2018 completed an Executive Compensation framework and now directly employs the CEO role. The hospital is fully accredited and has some of the highest patient satisfaction scores for maternity in the province. It also has one of the fastest Emergency pay for performance records. The hospital is in the planning stage of a future expansion. The hospital provides care and treats patients from New Tecumseth, Adjala-Tosorontio, CFB Borden & Essa Township. The hospital also provides care and treatment to residents from a portion of Dufferin County.

Earl Rowe Provincial Park is an Ontario Parks recreational park located in Adjala–Tosorontio near Alliston, Ontario. The idea for the park was spearheaded by Rowe when he was area MP and began with the first land purchase in 1957 and additional farm land before it opened in 1964, the now 312.42 ha (772.0 acres) park was named for former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario William Earl Rowe. The park features a large man made lake, Earl Rowe Lake, created by damming the Boyne River. The lake provides swimming area for campers.

Cookstown/Tally-Ho Field Aerodrome (TC LID: CTH8) is located 3.6 nautical miles (6.7 km; 4.1 mi) northwest of Cookstown, Ontario, Canada.

Banting Memorial High School is a public secondary institution serving grades 9–12, located in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Simcoe County District School Board and has a student population of 1530. The principal is Rob Poissant. The school is named in honour of Sir Frederick Grant Banting, a key member of the Canadian scientific team that discovered how to extract and use insulin for treating diabetes mellitus. Alliston, Ontario, Canada was the home town of Sir Frederick Banting, and is also the foundation of his homestead. Banting Memorial offers attending students programs in Extended French courses and Specialist High Skills Major in Health & Wellness, Horticulture & Landscaping, Agriculture, and Transportation. The school participates in county sporting events under the name of the "Marauders". The school serves students residing in Alliston, Beeton, Tottenham, Hockley Valley and Adjala Township. As of 2018 the school board has recognized Banting Memorial as a priority school due to aging infrastructure, current recommendations are in place to renovate or rebuild the school building.

The Nine Mile Portage was a trail which connects Kempenfelt Bay of Lake Simcoe, Ontario, to Willow Creek, a tributary of the Nottawasaga River that flows to Wasaga Beach on Georgian Bay. The city of Barrie plans to make it possible to walk the original route of the trail, but at present no public right-of-way exists.John Franklin 'fix[ed] the longitude and latitude of the “Nottawassaga Portage” at 44º22’55"N and 79º53’41"W' during his second overland expedition to the Arctic Ocean.

CIMA-FM (92.1 FM, FM 92 South Simcoe) is a radio station licensed to Alliston, Ontario. Owned by Local Radio Lab Inc., it broadcasts an adult contemporary format targeting South Simcoe County. My Broadcasting received approval for the new station from the CRTC on September 12, 2012. On August 30, 2013, CIMA began on-air tests. The station began regular broadcasting on September 19, 2013. The station was branded as 92.1 myFM. On June 25, 2021, the CRTC approved the sale of CIMA to Local Radio Lab.
