Alliston is a settlement in Simcoe County in the Canadian province of Ontario. It has been part of the Town of New Tecumseth since the 1991 amalgamation of Alliston and nearby villages of Beeton, Tottenham, and the Township of Tecumseth. The primary downtown area is located along Highway 89, known as Victoria Street. The town grew as a commercial centre for the area farmers and was best known as a potato-growing area. It is still a major industry in the town and is celebrated by the annual Alliston Potato Festival. Honda of Canada Manufacturing operates a large auto manufacturing facility southeast of Alliston, currently consisting of three major factories. In the 2016 census, the town of Alliston grew by 25% since 2011 to 19,243 residents making it one of the top 10 fastest growing communities in Canada. This is over 5 times greater than the average growth recorded in Ontario during the same period.

CIMA-FM (92.1 FM, FM 92 South Simcoe) is a radio station licensed to Alliston, Ontario. Owned by Local Radio Lab Inc., it broadcasts an adult contemporary format targeting South Simcoe County. My Broadcasting received approval for the new station from the CRTC on September 12, 2012. On August 30, 2013, CIMA began on-air tests. The station began regular broadcasting on September 19, 2013. The station was branded as 92.1 myFM. On June 25, 2021, the CRTC approved the sale of CIMA to Local Radio Lab.

Honda of Canada Manufacturing (French: Honda Canada Inc.) is located in Alliston, Ontario and is the automobile manufacturing division of Honda Canada Inc.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is located in the New Tecumseth community of Alliston, Ontario. The hospital is considered a medium-size community hospital with 41 in-patient beds and many outpatient services. in the 2019-2020 fiscal year there were 2,627 inpatient stays with an average length of stay of 4.2 days, and 35,500 emergency department visits.T.P. Loblaw donated the funds to create the hospital in 1928 as a tribute to his grandparents, William and Elizabeth Stevenson. The hospital is led by CEO Jody Levac. Jody is the third CEO to come from Southlake Regional Health Center through a management services agreement. In the hospital Board in August 2018 completed an Executive Compensation framework and now directly employs the CEO role. The hospital is fully accredited and has some of the highest patient satisfaction scores for maternity in the province. It also has one of the fastest Emergency pay for performance records. The hospital is in the planning stage of a future expansion. The hospital provides care and treats patients from New Tecumseth, Adjala-Tosorontio, CFB Borden & Essa Township. The hospital also provides care and treatment to residents from a portion of Dufferin County.

Alliston Airport (TC LID: CNY4) is located 1.3 nautical miles (2.4 km; 1.5 mi) northeast of Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It is located north of Toronto between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe.

Earl Rowe Provincial Park is an Ontario Parks recreational park located in Adjala–Tosorontio near Alliston, Ontario. The idea for the park was spearheaded by Rowe when he was area MP and began with the first land purchase in 1957 and additional farm land before it opened in 1964, the now 312.42 ha (772.0 acres) park was named for former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario William Earl Rowe. The park features a large man made lake, Earl Rowe Lake, created by damming the Boyne River. The lake provides swimming area for campers.

The Boyne River is a river in Simcoe County and Dufferin County in Central Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and is a left tributary of the Nottawasaga River. The rivers falls within the jurisdiction of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority.

Royal Canadian Air Force Detachment Alliston was opened in July 1940 near the village of Alliston, Ontario (Lots 6, 7 & 8, Concession 11, Tecumseth Twp.). This small aerodrome served as the No. 2 Relief Landing Field for No. 1 Service Flying Training School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, located at RCAF Station Camp Borden. The airfield at RCAF Detachment Alliston consisted of three runways in a standard triangular pattern, but unlike the RCAF Detachment Edenvale, they were compressed grass runways and there were no lights for night landings. The airfield was abandoned at the end of World War II and the land was sold for farmland.

Adjala–Tosorontio is a township in south-central Ontario, Canada, in the County of Simcoe. A predominantly rural area, Adjala–Tosorontio contains numerous small villages and hamlets. Many communities were started in Adjala by Irish Catholics who named their hamlets after their home towns in Ireland, or after prominent pioneer families who first settled the area. The municipality has increasingly become home to residents who commute to the Greater Toronto Area. Geographically the area is rolling countryside below the Niagara Escarpment to the west, with the Nottawasaga River cutting through it. "Tosorontio" is a Huron word meaning "Beautiful Mountain", and Adjala was the name of the wife of Chief Tecumseh, for whom the neighbouring township (now called New Tecumseth) was named.

Beeton is a small community located in southern Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada between Tottenham and Alliston; all three were amalgamated in 1991 into the single Town of New Tecumseth. Beeton was named for a local apiary. Formerly known as Clarksville for Robert Clark, an early settler; the name changed to Beeton in 1878 with possible reference to David Allanson Jones, postmaster and Bee King of Canada.

Tottenham/Ronan Aerodrome (TC LID: CTR3) is located 2.1 nautical miles (3.9 km; 2.4 mi) northwest of Tottenham, Ontario, Canada. Great Lakes Gliding Club is based at the aerodrome, and gliders are the predominant air traffic.
