The Ski Club of Ireland owns and runs the largest artificial ski slope in Ireland. It is located in County Wicklow close to the village of Kilternan (County Dublin).

The R117 road is a regional road in Ireland. The route (north-south) starts Harcourt Road at the end of the South Circular Road on the southside of Dublin city centre. It crosses the Grand Canal and goes through the suburbs of Ranelagh, Milltown, Windy Arbour, Dundrum, Sandyford, Stepaside and Kilternan (where it crosses the R116) before passing through the Scalp into County Wicklow. In Wicklow it goes through Enniskerry where it veers east to the N11 at Fassaroe just west of Bray, this part of the road is colloquially known as "The 21 Bends". Powerscourt Estate (Irish: Eastát Chúirt an Phaoraigh), located in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, Ireland, is a large country estate which is noted for its house and landscaped gardens, today occupying 19 hectares (47 acres). The house, originally a 13th-century castle, was extensively altered during the 18th century by German architect Richard Cassels, starting in 1731 and finishing in 1741. A fire in 1974 left the house lying as a shell until it was renovated in 1996. The Wingfield family had long coveted the lands of Phelim O'Toole of Powerscourt (d. 1603), seeking to draw Phelim O'Toole into an act of rebellion, the penalty for which was forfeiture. The feud climaxed on 14 May 1603 when the Wingfields murdered Phelim in the place known as the Killing Hollow near Powerscourt, despite the fact that Phelim's grandson and heir Turlough son of Phelim's son (d. 1616) remained in occupation of Powerscourt. King James I of England (d. 1625) on 27 October 1603 granted a lease of the manor of Powerscourt for 21 years to Sir Richard Wingfield for a rent of £6 Irish and a knight's fee. The reasons for the forfeiture of the O'Toole estates were because of the rebellious acts of Brian O'Neill (d. 1549) and Phelim O'Toole himself. That the actions of O'Brien, O'Neill and O'Toole, Lord of Kinelarty, were cited as a reason for forfeiture was bizarre given the fact that at least Phelim O'Toole received a posthumous pardon for unspecified offences on 23 April 1549. Furthermore, alongside Baron Cromwell his estates were surrendered to regrant. The awarded family seat of the Viscounts Powerscourt, the estate has been owned by the Slazenger family, founders and former owners of the Slazenger sporting goods business, since 1961. It is a popular tourist attraction, and includes Powerscourt Golf Club, an Avoca Handweavers restaurant, and an Autograph Collection Hotel. A related property is Powerscourt House, Dublin, which was the townhouse of the family.

Barnaslingan (Irish: Barr na Slinneán, meaning 'summit of the shoulder blades') is a 238 metres (781 feet) high hill in County Dublin, Ireland. It is most noted for the geological feature known as The Scalp (Irish: An Scailp, meaning 'the chasm' or "cleft") that lies to the west of the summit. Samuel Lewis, in A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (1837), described it thus: “A deep natural chasm in the mountain, forming a defile with lofty and shelving ramparts on each side, from which large detached masses of granite many tons of weight have fallen, on each side large masses of detached rock are heaped together in wild confusion, apparently arrested in their descent, and threatening at every moment to crush the traveller by their fall”.The Scalp is a narrow glacial valley formed approximately 12,000 years ago during the last ice age. During this period a massive ice sheet covered the Irish Sea extending inland over the Dublin-Wicklow Mountains. As the ice melted several glacial lakes formed, including one at Enniskerry, enclosed by the mountains and the ice sheet. The pressure created by this volume of water pressing against the bedrock eventually found a weak point and gouged out the channel now known as The Scalp. The same process created similar features in nearby County Wicklow at the Glen of the Downs and at the Rocky Valley north of the Great Sugar Loaf. On account of its status as an example of a glacial lake overflow, it is listed as an Area of Scientific Interest. The steep, rocky slopes are home to a herd of feral goats and the area is also a habitat for deer and badgers.The route of the R117 road passes through The Scalp between Kilternan and Enniskerry. Even though the floor of the valley is quite narrow, a small number of buildings are situated along the roadside. The most prominent of these is the Scalp Service Station; prior to 1963 this was a ballroom called “The New Era”. Another house, now a private residence, was a tea room called “Butler's Tea House”.Overlooking the area is the Kilternan Golf and Country Club which first opened as a hotel in 1970. It is built around a nineteenth-century house called Springfield which was once the home of the poet and mathematician George Darley (1795-1846). In 2001 the hotel was purchased by the hotelier and developer Hugh O'Regan who commenced a major redevelopment and expansion of the property. Although the work is 90 percent complete, Mr O'Regan's companies went into liquidation in 2009 and its future is uncertain. The land around the hotel is also the site of a dry ski slope and headquarters of the Ski Club of Ireland; it continues to operate.Barnaslingan lies within a Coillte-owned forest recreation area which is managed by the Dublin Mountains Partnership. There are a number of waymarked walking trails in the woods as well as a permanent orienteering course. Barnaslingan is also traversed by the Dublin Mountains Way.

Enniskerry (historically Annaskerry, from Irish: Áth na Sceire, meaning 'rugged ford') is a village in County Wicklow, Ireland. The population was 2,008 at the 2022 census.

Glencullen Standing Stone is a standing stone and National Monument located in Glencullen, County Dublin, Ireland.

Glencullen (Irish: Gleann Cuilinn, meaning 'valley of the holly') is a village and townland in the county of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown in south County Dublin, Ireland. It is also the name of the valley above one end of which the village sits, and from which it takes its name, and is on the R116 road, on the slopes of Two Rock Mountain. The highest point of the area is at a height of about 300 metres (980 ft), making Glencullen one of the highest villages in Ireland.Glencullen is in the civil parish of Kilternan and the barony and Poor Law Union of Rathdown. 376 people lived in the village as of the 2022 census, up from 238 as of the 2016 census.

Kilternan (Irish: Cill Tiarnáin, meaning 'Church of Tiarnán'), also known as Kiltiernan, is a village in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains south of Dublin, Ireland, near the border with County Wicklow.

The 39th Curtis Cup Match was played from 10 to 12 June 2016 at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club near Enniskerry, Ireland. Great Britain and Ireland won 111⁄2 to 81⁄2. Bronte Law became the first golfer from Great Britain and Ireland to win 5 matches in a Curtis Cup match, a feat only previously achieved by Stacy Lewis in 2008.

Dorchester Missionary College, also known as the Dorchester College of St Peter and St Paul for Foreign Missions was a theological college in Dorchester, Oxfordshire. The college was established in 1878 to train Anglican clergy to serve in the Church of England overseas, and by 1903 was an associated theological college of Durham University. It closed in 1944 due to the recommendation by the Archbishops' commission to end missionary colleges.

Rathmines School was a Church of Ireland secondary school in the suburb of Rathmines, Dublin: it opened in 1855 and closed in 1899. In all 2,190 pupils attended the school.The school was located at 48 Lower Rathmines Road. The founder of the school and headmaster for over 40 years was Reverend Dr Charles William Benson.

Ballycorus (Irish: Baile Mhic Fheorais, meaning 'Town of the Pearse Family') leadmines is a former lead mining and smelting centre located in the townland of the same name, near Kilternan in County Dublin, Ireland. The mine opened around 1807 and was taken over by the Mining Company of Ireland (MCI) in 1826 who owned and operated the site up until closure in 1913. After the mine was exhausted in the 1860s, Ballycorus continued to operate as a smelting facility receiving ore from other MCI sites such as the mines in Glendalough, County Wicklow. The most distinctive surviving remnant of the site is the ruin of the flue chimney that lies close to the summit of Carrickgollogan hill. Further down the slopes of the hill, many other former buildings and structures from the leadworks can also be found.
