The Mirrer Yeshiva Central Institute (Hebrew: ישיבת מיר, Yeshivas Mir), commonly known as the Mir Yeshiva or the Mirrer Yeshiva, is a prominent, Haredi yeshiva located in Brooklyn, New York known for talmudic studies. The current roshei yeshiva are Rabbi Avrohom Yaakov Nelkenbaum, Rabbi Asher Dov Berenbaum, Rabbi Osher Eliyahu Kalmanowitz, and Rabbi Herschel Zolty. Other notable Maggidei Shiur are Rabbi Elya Brudny, Rabbi Reuven Schepansky, Rabbi Hershel Kaminsky, and Rabbi Tzvi Lobel. Some students and staff members consider Rabbi Schepansky to be Rosh Yeshiva as well. Rabbi Brudny serves a large public role in addition to his position in the Yeshiva, including sitting on the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah.

The B'nai Yosef Synagogue (or Congregation Bnai Yosef), formerly Magen David Congregation of Ocean Parkway, is an Orthodox Sephardi synagogue at the 1616 Ocean Parkway and Avenue P in Brooklyn, New York. It is considered "America's busiest synagogue for Middle and Near Eastern Jews", with over 30 prayer services daily.Built in the early 1970s, it became known as The Painted Shul, because its 13,000-square-foot (1,200 m2) interior is covered in brightly painted murals, making it the only completely muraled synagogue in the world. The synagogue is also unusual in that it was built and is funded by an anonymous individual; thus members are not required to pay any dues.

Gravesend Race Track at Gravesend in Brooklyn, New York was a Thoroughbred horse racing facility that opened in 1886 and closed in 1910. The track was built by the Brooklyn Jockey Club with the backing of Philip and Michael Dwyer, two wealthy racing stable owners known as the Dwyer Brothers. Philip, the controlling shareholder of the Brooklyn Jockey Club, served as its president. Gravesend Race Track hosted the Preakness Stakes for fifteen years.

Congregation Shaare Zion (קהל קדוש שערי ציון‎) is an Orthodox Sephardic synagogue located at 2030 Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn, New York. Shaare Zion typically has an estimated 1,500 worshipers who attend its services Fridays and Saturdays for Shabbat making it one of the largest Sephardic synagogues in North America. In its over fifty years of existence, the synagogue has hosted over ten thousand occasions including Brit milahs, Bar mitzvas, engagements and weddings. The synagogue generally serves the Aleppo or (Halabi) descendants of the Syrian Jewish community.

The Kings Highway station is an express station on the IND Culver Line of the New York City Subway, located at Kings Highway and McDonald Avenue in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn. The station is served by the F train at all times and the train during rush hours in the peak direction.

On July 29, 2023, O'Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old gay man, was stabbed and later died as a result of an incident outside of a Mobil gas station in Midwood, Brooklyn, New York, United States. He and his friends were confronted by a group of individuals for playing Beyoncé music and vogueing. The suspect accused of the stabbing was identified as a 17-year-old, who turned himself in to police custody on August 4, 2023, and was later charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime.

Jewish Center of Kings Highway is a historic synagogue at 1202–1218 Avenue P in Midwood, Brooklyn in New York City, USA. The synagogue was built between 1928 and 1930 and is a two-story-with-basement building faced in brick. It has a cast stone temple front with four engaged Corinthian order piers. Also on the property is a contributing school building built in 1949.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Beth El Jewish Center of Flatbush is a historic synagogue at 1981 Homecrest Ave. in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It was built in 1927 and is a two-story plus basement, rectangular red brick building with decorative white glazed terra cotta trim. It has a tripartite front facade with a central parapet. It features Byzantine and Gothic Revival decorative elements.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Coney Island Avenue is a road in the New York City borough of Brooklyn that runs north-south for a distance of roughly five miles, almost parallel to Ocean Parkway and Ocean Avenue. It begins at Brighton Beach Avenue in Coney Island and goes north to Park Circle at the southwest corner of Prospect Park, where it becomes Prospect Park Southwest. Near-parallel Ocean Parkway terminates five blocks south and three blocks west of that intersection, becoming the Prospect Expressway (New York State Route 27). Ocean Parkway originally extended north to Park Circle, where Coney Island Avenue meets Prospect Park, until construction of the Prospect Expressway replaced the northern half-mile of Ocean Parkway but included ramps to the edge of Prospect Park. Coney Island Avenue frontage is dominated by mixed-use housing: pre-war apartment buildings, small shops, including many antique shops, and service businesses. The B68 bus line runs along Coney Island Avenue, connecting the Prospect Park area and Downtown Brooklyn to the famous oceanfront attractions of Coney Island and Brighton Beach. It is also one of the most dangerous streets in New York City, with many avoidable accidents happening because of poor road design.The Brighton Beach station on the BMT Brighton Line is located adjacent to Coney Island Avenue at the thoroughfare's intersection with Brighton Beach Avenue. The 15th Street-Prospect Park station on the IND Culver Line is located at the north end of Prospect Park Southwest at Bartel Pritchard Square. An area surrounding about 1 mile (1.6 km) of Coney Island Avenue is home to a sizable population of Pakistani Americans, and is informally called "Little Pakistan".

Gravesend is a neighborhood in the south-central section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, on the southwestern edge of Long Island in the U.S. state of New York. It is bounded on the south by Coney Island, on the west by Bath Beach, on the north by Bensonhurst, and on the east by Homecrest and Sheepshead Bay. Gravesend was one of the original towns in the Dutch colony of New Netherland. After the English took over, it was one of the six original towns of Kings County in colonial New York. Gravesend was the only English chartered town in what became Kings County, and is notable as being one of the first towns founded by a woman, Lady Deborah Moody. The Town of Gravesend encompassed 7,000 acres (2,800 ha) in southern Kings County, including the entire island of Coney Island, and was annexed by the City of Brooklyn in 1894. The modern-day neighborhood is part of Brooklyn Community Board 11. As of 2010, Gravesend had a population of 29,436.

Hubbard House, also known as Hubbard-Lucchelli House and Theresa Lucchelli House, is a historic home located in Brooklyn, New York. It is believed to have been built between 1825 and 1838. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000 and later designated by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on January 13, 2009.
