Papanui High School (PHS) is a state secondary school located in Papanui, Christchurch, New Zealand. The school was founded as Papanui Technical College in 1936 and was officially renamed Papanui High School in 1949. The first principal of the school was Joseph Bell McBride.In 2011 a new gymnasium and pool complex was introduced to the school's campus. It was opened in association with Christchurch City Council and was named in honour of Paralympian Graham Condon, who died in an accident involving a car while riding his hand-propelled bicycle. The Graham Condon Recreation and Sports Centre has become a very important part of the school community. The school is the fourth largest in the city with a roll of 1506 students in November 2022. Located between the second largest mall in the city 'Northlands Mall' and Firestone, the school plays a large part in the wider community. The current principal is Jeffrey Smith. In 2006 66% of Year 11 students gained NCEA Level 1.That figure lowered to 62% 2012, but increased to 82% in 2015. NCEA performance in Level 2 also reached the national average.

Christchurch Adventist School (CAS) is a co-educational composite school (years 1–13) in Papanui suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is ethnically diverse, with 39% of students New Zealand European, 7% Māori, 10% Samoan, 8% Other Pacific, 7% Asian, 15% European and 14% other (including Latin American and African).

Marian College, Christchurch was founded in 1982 with the merging of two Catholic secondary schools for girls, St Mary's College (Sisters of Mercy, established in Colombo Street in 1893) and McKillop College (named for Mary MacKillop (St Mary of the Cross)) located in Shirley (founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart). Both schools provided boarding and day facilities. The Catholic Bishop of Christchurch is the proprietor of the college.

Papanui is a major suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is situated five kilometers to the northwest of the city centre. Papanui is a middle socio-economic area with a population of 3,645 consisting predominantly of Pākehā (NZ European & Others) 86.9%, Asian 7.6%, Māori 5.3%, Pacific peoples 3.1%, Middle Eastern/Latin American/African 0.7% (2013 census). The suburb is located at the junction of three busy thoroughfares; Papanui Road leading to the City, the Main North Road that leads to North Canterbury and Harewood Road that leads to Christchurch International Airport. However, as with most Christchurch suburbs, Papanui has no defined borders. Over the last 160 years Papanui has developed into a major suburban centre and is a satellite centre for Government and City Council services. These include the central government 'Super Centre' in Winstone Avenue, Housing New Zealand in Restell Street and the Council Service Centre and Library on Langdons Road. The area has two high schools and five primary schools. There is little farm land left in the suburb with most of it having been developed into residential and commercial properties.

Strowan is an affluent suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, located approximately 5 km north-west of Christchurch's central business district. It had a population of 3,705 at the 2013 census. It is located between the suburbs of Merivale (South of Leinster Road), Papanui (North-East of Blighs Road), Bryndwr (North-West of Blighs Road, Idris Road (North of Jeffreys Road)), Fendalton (South-West of Idris Road (South of Jeffreys Road)), and St Albans (East of Papanui Road). The area is predominantly residential, containing mostly parks and schools and few retail or commercial buildings. A small shopping centre exists at the intersection of Wairakei and Normans Roads, in the centre of the suburb. There is a private hospital located in the south-eastern corner of Strowan near the border of Merivale, called St. George's Hospital. The main train line north of Christchurch runs through the western part of the suburb - crossings exist on Blighs, Wairakei and Glandovey Roads.Most of the suburb's housing is large and expensive, with a generally older architecture than many newer areas of Christchurch. There was little earthquake damage in Strowan after the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. St George's Hospital, opened in 1928 and now one of New Zealand's largest private hospitals, is at 249 Papanui Road.

St. Bede's College is an integrated Roman Catholic day and boarding school in Christchurch, New Zealand, for boys aged 12 (Year 9) to 18 (Year 13). St. Bede's is the oldest Roman Catholic Boys' College in New Zealand's South Island. It is also the only Catholic day and boarding college for boys in New Zealand's South Island. Students at St Bede's are colloquially known as Bedeans. St Bede's College was founded in 1911 by the Marists, a religious congregation founded in Lyon, France, in 1816.

St Andrew's College, also known as StAC, in Christchurch, New Zealand, is a private, co-educational school that enrols from pre-school to secondary Year 13. It was founded in 1917 and it is the only independent, co-educational primary and secondary school in New Zealand's South Island. Although now a fully co-educational school, it was formerly an all-boys school. It became fully co-educational in 2001. The current rector of St Andrew's College is Christine Leighton.

Bryndwr ( BRIND-wər; Welsh: [brənˈduːr]) is a suburb in the north-west of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Aorangi School was located in the suburb of Bryndwr in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. The school was closed by the government on 27 January 2010.About 40 of the former Aorangi School students transferred to Burnside Primary School. The last principal was Stephanie Thompson. The school's roll before closure was 87.The prime minister, John Key, was a student at Aorangi.

Casebrook is a suburb on the northern side of Christchurch city. The land was farmed by Walter Case (1881?-1961). When Casebrook Intermediate was built in 1966, it combined his name with the presence of a stream near the school. The suburb developed subsequently and took its name from the school. There is a Walter Case Drive in the suburb.
