Alsea Bay

Waldport High School is a public high school in Waldport, Oregon, United States. It opened in 1958. For the 2011–2012 school year, Waldport High reported enrolling 208 students. The school is part of the Lincoln County School District.

The Red River is a stream approximately 1 mile (2 km) long in Lincoln County in the northwestern U.S. state of Oregon. It rises south of downtown Waldport and flows through the city to meet the Alsea River near the larger river's mouth on the Pacific Ocean.

Alsea Bay Historic Interpretive Center is a public facility in Waldport, Oregon, administered and owned by the city of Waldport. It is adjacent to the Alsea Bay Bridge and was constructed by the Oregon Department of Transportation as part of the bridge replacement project. It was transferred to the city on Oct 8th, 2020 from the Oregon Department of Transportation. The Center features displays about the building of bridges in Oregon, area transportation and Native Americans.

Waldport is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,033 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the Alsea River and Alsea Bay, 15 miles (24 km) south of Newport and 8 miles (13 km) north of Yachats.

W. B. Nelson State Recreation Site is a state park in Lincoln County, western Oregon. It is on the lower Alsea River, near the coastal city of Waldport. The park is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

Bayshore is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in southern Lincoln County, bordered to the south by Alsea Bay and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. The city of Waldport is to the south across Alsea Bay. U.S. Route 101 passes through Bayshore, leading north 14 miles (23 km) to Newport, the Lincoln county seat, and south through Waldport 10 miles (16 km) to Yachats.

The Alsea River flows 48.5 miles (78.1 km) from Alsea, an unincorporated community in the coastal mountains of the U.S. state of Oregon, to the Pacific Ocean near the city of Waldport. It begins at the confluence of the North Fork Alsea River and the South Fork Alsea River and ends in Alsea Bay, a wide estuary at Waldport. The river flows generally west-northwest in a winding course through the mountains of southern Benton and Lincoln counties, passing near the unincorporated community of Tidewater and through the Siuslaw National Forest. Its drainage basin extends into Lane County, along the headwaters of the South Fork Alsea River. The Alsea River supports runs of chinook and coho salmon, as well as steelhead and coastal cutthroat trout. The Alsea River Fish Hatchery is along one of its tributaries, the North Fork Alsea River.

Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site is a state park administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department in the U.S. state of Oregon. Located 3 miles (5 km) north of Waldport along the Pacific Ocean, the park offers beach access, picnicking, and fishing in a setting of shore pines and sand. It is fee-free and open year-round.The 36.7-acre (14.9 ha) park between U.S. Highway 101 and the ocean has parking spaces from which visitors can watch winter-storm surf without leaving their cars. A path leads from the bluff to a wide beach with driftwood along the high-tide line. Kite flyers and beachcombers frequent the beach in sunny weather. The Oregon Coast Trail for long-distance hikers passes through the park.It was used as a filming location for the upcoming 2023 film adaptation of the stage musical version of The Color Purple.
