Valley High School is an alternative, continuation high school, part of the Escondido Union High School District in Escondido, California. VHS has nearly thirty to fifty new students every month.

Orange Glen High School (OGHS) is one of the five public high schools in the Escondido Union School District in Escondido, California. It was established in 1962. The school earned the California Distinguished School Award in 2007.In the 2005-06 school year Orange Glen High School served 2,370 students from grades 9 to 12. It has six academic counselors. The school's yearbook is known as The Torch. The Musket school newspaper is part of the High School National Ad Network.

Escondido Village at Valley and Ash in Escondido, California, was the first enclosed, and first fully air-conditioned shopping mall in California, opening on March 9, 1964, costing $10 million to build. It was advertised as a shopping center with an "enclosed sidewalk" or "an air-conditioned sidewalk and mall", as the term "mall" was not yet synonymous with an enclosed shopping center, but rather its original meaning of a long, planted or green space. Walker Scott, the San Diego–based department store chain was an anchor, as was Mayfair Markets, TG&Y discount stores joining later. At launch, the center was 1,200-foot (370 m) long on a single-axis mall, had 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) of gross leasable area, 40 stores, and 30 acres (120,000 m2) of parking for 1,250 cars. Sears joined later as the second department store anchor with 120,000 sq ft (11,000 m2)

The Rincon Big Four is a famous skate spot in Escondido, California, USA that has shown up numerous times in skateboard media outlets, such as videos and magazines. It is located at Rincon Middle School, which has been a popular landmark for skateboarding for over a decade. In 1997, Jamie Thomas found a newly built bleacher set for shaded basketball.

Westminster Seminary California is a Reformed and Presbyterian Christian seminary in Escondido, California. It was initially a branch campus of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia until 1982 when it became fully independent. It has 13 full-time faculty members and enrolls approximately 155 full-time students.

Deer Park Monastery (Vietnamese: Tu Viện Lộc Uyển) is a 400-acre (1.6 km2) Buddhist monastery in Escondido, California. It was founded in July 2000 by Thích Nhất Hạnh along with monastic and lay practitioners from the Plum Village Tradition. The monastery was under the direct guidance of Thích Nhất Hạnh and his Order of Interbeing in the Vietnamese Thiền tradition.

California Pacific University (or Cal Pacific University) was a private university originally founded in Escondido, California. Its law school was originally located in Bakersfield, California. The university was aimed towards working professionals in business management. The school of law was accredited by the California State Bar Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California.

Calvin Christian School is a private Christian school in Escondido, California. It consists of a preschool, elementary school, junior high, and high school.

Palomar Medical Center Escondido is a hospital located in Escondido, California. It is operated by the Palomar Health District (formerly known as Palomar Pomerado Health), which also operates Palomar Medical Center Poway in nearby Poway. Palomar Medical Center Escondido is the only designated trauma center in northern San Diego County.The first hospital in Downtown Escondido opened in 1950 as Palomar Memorial Hospital. A tower addition, McLeod Tower, was completed in 1974. The hospital was renamed to Palomar Medical Center in 1987. It is now known as Palomar Medical Center Downtown Escondido, which houses psychiatric and rehabilitation wards. In late 2021 to early 2022, the old hospital campus was slowly demolished and will now be replaced by a mixed use/senior living/apartment complex. To safely take down the building, heavy asbestos abatement was performed by workers as the building was built in the ‘50s and contained asbestos insulation.

San Diego Radiosurgery is a cancer treatment facility in Escondido, California. The center is a service of Palomar Health. San Diego Radiosurgery uses a technology called Novalis Tx. Novalis Tx is a stereotactic radiosurgery platform that does not require anesthesia or incision for treatment of malignant and benign tumors. The center treats tumors in the lung, liver, brain, kidney, eye, prostate, and pancreas. In January 2010, San Diego Radiosurgery was one of the first facilities in the country to have respiratory gating technology. This technology protects tissues and organs around a tumor using targeted positioning and precise dosage.

Escondido Bible College (EBC) was a private Bible college in Escondido, California. It was founded in 1983 as Cathedral Bible College by Coleman and Mary Phillips and George and Jean Simmons. Its name was changed to Escondido Bible College, following the renaming of its patron church, Cathedral of the Valley, to Escondido Christian Center. In the mid-2000s, its present name was adopted. EBC was associated with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG).
