Avoca (Irish: Abhóca, formerly Abhainn Mhór, meaning 'the great river') is a small town near Arklow, in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is situated on the River Avoca. The Avoca area has been associated with its copper mines for many years and the valley has been celebrated by Thomas Moore in the song "The Meeting of the Waters". The name of the song derives from the meeting of the Avonmore and Avonbeg rivers, about 3 kilometres from the village of Avoca. The song is said to have been written under a tree, the stump of which remains by the Meetings. Avoca is also famous for its handweaving, with Avoca Handweavers based there. Avoca has been used as a filming location for several films and television series. The BBC series Ballykissangel was filmed there. In 1967, Avoca was one of the locations used in the film Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon, and it was the setting for the comedy film Zonad which had a general Irish release in 2010. The red kite, recently reintroduced to Ireland, is now commonly seen in and around Avoca.

The Avoca (Irish: Abhainn Abhóca) is a river in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is contained completely within the county. Its length is 35 miles (56.3 km). The Avoca starts life as two rivers, the Avonmore (Irish: Abhainn Mhór, meaning 'Big River') and the Avonbeg (Irish: Abhainn Bheag, meaning 'Small River'). These join at a spot called the Meeting of the Waters (Cumar an dá Uisce) in the Vale of Avoca, which is considered a local beauty spot, and was celebrated by Thomas Moore in his song of the same name. There is not in the wide world a valley so sweet, As the vale in whose bosom the bright waters meet; Oh, the last rays of feeling and life must depart, Ere the bloom of that valley shall fade from my heart. The village of Avoca is situated on the river. The Avoca flows into the Irish Sea at Arklow where it widens into a large estuary, giving Arklow its Irish language name an t-Inbhear Mór (the big inlet). The catchment area of the Avoca is 652 km2. The long term average flow rate of the Avoca is 20.2 cubic metres per second (m3/s)

Woodenbridge (Irish: an Droichead Adhmaid) is a small village in County Wicklow, Ireland. It lies between Arklow and Avoca, at the meeting of the Avoca, Aughrim and Goldmine rivers. The village is located at the junction of the R747 and R752 roads. The R747 crosses the Aughrim on the stone bridge which is still called "Wooden Bridge".

The Avonmore River (Irish: An Abhainn Mhór, meaning 'the big river'), also known as Abhainn Dé (also spelt Abhainn Dea), flows from Lough Dan in the Wicklow Mountains west of Roundwood. It flows in a generally southerly direction for approximately 30 km (19 mi) before joining the Avonbeg at the Meeting of the Waters (Cumar an dá Uisce) to form the River Avoca, which in turn discharges into the Irish Sea at Arklow. From source to sea the river remains in East Wicklow. Downstream from Lough Dan the Avonmore reaches the village of Annamoe where it is crossed by the R755 regional road. From there is descends to Laragh and down through a heavily wooded valley to Rathdrum. Near Rathdrum it passes through the grounds of Avondale House, former home of Charles Stewart Parnell. A few kilometers south of Avondale it meets the Avonbeg at the Meeting of the Waters.

Arklow (Irish: An tInbhear Mór) is a barony in County Wicklow, Ireland.

Avondale House, in Avondale, County Wicklow, Ireland, is the birthplace and home of Charles Stewart Parnell. It is set in the Avondale Forest Park, spanning over 2 km2 (500 acres) of land, approximately 1.5 km from the nearby town of Rathdrum. The river Avonmore flows through the park on its way towards the Irish Sea. The House is now a museum.

Avondale Forest is a wooded estate in County Wicklow, Ireland, on the west bank of the River Avonmore. It contains the home of Charles Stewart Parnell which was built in 1777 by Samuel Hayes and is now the Parnell Museum. The park is rich in wildlife and notable features include the exotic tree trail and a well-developed arboretum.

Ballinaclash (Irish: An Chlais, meaning 'townland of the ravine') is a village in east County Wicklow centred on a bridge that carries the R753 regional road across the River Avonbeg. The village is mentioned in J.M. Synge's play 'The Tinker's Wedding': "And a big fool I was too, maybe; but we'll be seeing Jaunting Jim to-morrow in Ballinaclash, and he after getting a great price for his white foal in the horse-fair of Wicklow" In 1837, the village had a population of 3855 according to Samuel Lewis' 'A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland'. This population was much reduced by the famine and subsequent emigration and today is only a fraction of that number. The village was originally the site of an ancient monastery founded by the brother of St. Kevin, according to Mervyn Archdall. The site is now occupied by Whaley Abbey; the home of the notorious Buck Whaley.

Howard Mausoleum was erected in County Wicklow, Ireland, commissioned in 1785, for the first Viscount of Wicklow, Ralph Howard. The architect is believed to have been Simon Vierpyl.

Redcross (Irish: An Chrois Dhearg, formerly Baile Domhnaill Rua) is a village and also a civil parish in County Wicklow, Ireland. It lies on the R754 regional road, about 3 km (1.9 mi) east of the N11 national primary route.

The R752 road is a regional road in County Wicklow, Ireland. From its junction with the R772 in Rathnew on the outskirts of Wicklow Town it takes a generally south-westerly route to its junction with the R747 in the village of Woodenbridge, where it terminates. The road is 26 km (16 mi) long. En route it passes through Glenealy, Rathdrum, The Meeting of the Waters and Avoca. It closely follows the route of the Dublin – Wexford - Rosslare Europort railway line and at one stage it was part the main road from Dublin to Wexford, then called the T34.

The Aughrim River (Irish: Abhainn Eachroma) flows from confluence of the Derry Water and River Ow south of the village of Aughrim in County Wicklow in Ireland. It flows in a generally easterly direction for approximately 12 km (7.5 mi) following the R747 regional road for its full length before joining the River Avoca in the Vale of Avoca, which in turn discharges into the Irish Sea at Arklow. From source to sea the river remains in East Wicklow. The R747 crosses the river twice, near Aughrim and downstream at the village of Woodenbridge, before the Aughrim discharges into the Avoca river.
