Por Kai Shan (Chinese: 婆髻山), is a mountain on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, with a height of 482 metres (1,581 ft) above sea level.

North Lantau New Town is the newest of the nine new towns in Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, located on the northern coast of the Lantau Island in the New Territories. It covers Tung Chung, Tai Ho Wan, Siu Ho Wan, other parts of northeast Lantau Island, and the reclaimed land along the coast between them. It is the only new town in the Islands District and the youngest new town in Hong Kong. As the commercial, residential and community facilities in the New Town are concentrated in Tung Chung, it has been renamed Tung Chung New Town in recent official government documents.The development of North Lantau was first proposed in the late 1970s when the government proposed to build a new airport at Chek Lap Kok. In the North Lantau Development Investigation Study published in 1983, the idea of building a new town of nearly 300,000 people in Tung Chung and Tai Ho along the coast of North Lantau was proposed.

Lantau Island (also Lantao Island, Lan Tao) is the largest island in Hong Kong, located West of Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula, and is part of the New Territories. Administratively, most of Lantau Island is part of the Islands District of Hong Kong. A small northeastern portion of the island is located in the Tsuen Wan District. Originally an island with fishing villages, it has been developed since the late 20th century with the construction of Tung Chung New Town on its north-western coast and the completion of several major infrastructure projects, including Lantau Link (1997), Hong Kong International Airport (1998), Hong Kong Disneyland (2005), and Ngong Ping 360 (2006).

Ho Yu College and Primary School is a all-through school located in Tung Chung, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The school was founded in 1997 by Sik Sik Yuen, the management organization of Wong Tai Sin Temple, a famous temple in Hong Kong. The school is the fifth secondary school founded by Sik Sek Yuan and the all-through school founded by this organization. In addition, Sik Sik Yuen and the Hong Kong Biological Education Resource Center jointly established the first biotechnology teaching and research laboratory in Hong Kong. The laboratory has facilities and professional support reaching the level of a university laboratory. It was opened in 2004 by Professor Tsui Lap-chi, President of the University of Hong Kong.

HKFEW Wong Cho Bau Secondary School is an aided secondary school in Hong Kong. Founded in September 2003, the school is fully subsidized by Government of Hong Kong. Most subjects of the school are taught in Chinese. Situated in Fu Tung Estate, Tung Chung, New Territories near Tung Chung station, the grammar school had 65 teachers, as of 2016. Established by Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, the school is the only secondary school governed by the teachers union.

Po Leung Kuk Mrs. Ma Kam Ming-Cheung Fook Sien College (Chinese: 保良局馬錦明夫人章馥仙中學) is a full-time grammar school situated in Tung Chung, Lantau, Hong Kong, beside Fu Tung Estate and Tung Chung station. Dr. Ma Kam Ming, a Po Leung Kuk consultant, donated HK$5 million to finance the establishment of the school in 1997. Its new wing was inaugurated officially in February 2007 during the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of its founding. Together with the old wing, the 7-story complex comprises a total of 26 standard classrooms, three remedial teaching rooms, four multimedia rooms, and various special rooms. This would allow more spaces for teaching when the '3+3+4' schooling system is implemented in 2009.

Ying Tung Estate (Chinese: 迎東邨) is a public housing estate built on the northeastern coast of Tung Chung, Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong next to Ying Tung Road near The Visionary and Caribbean Coast. It consists of four residential buildings completed in 2018.

Pa Mei (Chinese: 壩尾) is a village in Tung Chung on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.

Ling Liang Church E Wun Secondary School (靈糧堂怡文中學) is a co-educational Chinese-language aided high school located in Tung Chung, Islands District, Hong Kong. It was founded in 2002, and is operated by the Ling Liang World-wide Evangelistic Mission (Ling Liang Church) of Hong Kong.

Tung Chung East (Chinese: 東涌東) is a proposed MTR station on the Tung Chung line to be constructed to the east of Tung Chung, Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong. It was proposed in the Tung Chung New Town Extension Study, to serve a proposed new 120 ha (1.2 km2; 300 acres) of reclaimed land, along with a new Tung Chung West station. The proposal was approved by the government in 2023.The Tung Chung East station will be constructed at ground level, similar to Sunny Bay, to not affect the existing railway network. As of May 2023, the plan is to have two exits on the at-grade concourse.

Ma Wan New Village (Chinese: 馬灣新村) is a village in Tung Chung, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is the resettlement village of the former nearby Ma Wan Village (馬灣村).

Tai Po New Village or Tei Po New Village (Chinese: 低埔新村) is a village in Tung Chung, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is the resettlement village of the former nearby Tai Po Village (低埔村).
