Sant'Agostino is a Romanesque-Gothic-style Roman Catholic church located in Via Cairoli in Rimini, Italy. It is one of the older extant church buildings in Rimini.

The Fellini Museum is a museum in Rimini, Italy, dedicated to Rimini-born film director Federico Fellini. It comprises three locations in Rimini's historic town center: the interior of the Castel Sismondo, a medieval castle; the Fulgor Palace, which houses a cinema; and the Piazza Malatesta, a plaza located outside the castle. The museum was inaugurated on 19 August 2021.

The Museo della Città is the civic museum located in the former Jesuit convent on Via Luigi Tonini #1 of the city of Rimini, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It rises adjacent to Chiesa del Suffragio, and a modern structure (Complesso Archeologico della Domus del Chirurgo in piazza Ferrari) built to enclose the ruins of an ancient Roman Domus, or house.

Porta Montanara (lit. 'mountain gate'), historically known as Porta Sant'Andrea, is an ancient Roman city gate in the city of Rimini, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy.Built after Sulla's civil war in the first century BC, the original construction comprised two arches. The north-facing arch was walled as early as the first or second century AD, and incorporated into a medieval cellar. It was uncovered by Allied aerial bombardment during the Second World War. After Rimini's liberation, the south-facing arch was destroyed by the occupying Allied forces to facilitate the passage of tanks through the city. In 1949, the remaining arch was deconstructed and reassembled in the courtyard of the Tempio Malatestiano. After moving a few metres in 1979, Porta Montanara was restored near its original location in 2004, at the southern end of Rimini's cardo maximus, on the road to the valley of the Marecchia.

The Battle of Rimini took place between 13 and 21 September 1944 during Operation Olive, the main Allied offensive on the Gothic Line in August and September 1944, part of the Italian Campaign in the Second World War. Rimini, a city on Italy's Adriatic coast, anchored the Rimini Line, a German defensive line which was the third such line of the Gothic Line defences. Rimini, which had been hit previously by 373 air raids, had 1,470,000 rounds fired against it by Allied land forces; by the end of the battle, only 2% of all buildings in the city escaped damage.

Rimini ( RIM-in-ee, Italian: [ˈriːmini] ; Romagnol: Rémin; Latin: Ariminum) is a city in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy and capital city of the Province of Rimini. It sprawls along the Adriatic Sea, on the coast between the rivers Marecchia (the ancient Ariminus) and Ausa (ancient Aprusa). It is one of the most notable seaside resorts in Europe with revenue from both internal and international tourism forming a significant portion of the city's economy. It is also near San Marino, a small nation within Italy. The first bathing establishment opened in 1843. Rimini is an art city with ancient Roman and Renaissance monuments, and is also the birthplace of the film director Federico Fellini. The city was founded by the Romans in 268 BC. Throughout Roman times, Rimini was a key communications link between the north and south of the peninsula. On its soil, Roman emperors erected monuments such as the Arch of Augustus and the Tiberius Bridge to mark the beginning and the end of the Decumanus of Rimini. During the Renaissance, the city benefited from the court of the House of Malatesta, which hosted artists like Leonardo da Vinci and produced works such as the Tempio Malatestiano. The main monuments in Rimini are the Tiberius Bridge and the Arch of Augustus. In the 19th century, Rimini was one of the most active cities on the revolutionary front, hosting many of the movements seeking to achieve Italian unification. In the course of World War II, the city was the scene of numerous clashes and bombings, but also of a fierce partisan resistance that earned it the honour of a gold medal for civic valour. In recent years it has become one of the most important sites for trade fairs and conferences in Italy. As of 31 December 2019, Rimini's urban area was home to 151,200 people, with approximately 325,000 living in the eponymous province, making it the twenty-eighth largest city in Italy. The city is located near the independent republic of San Marino and the Misano race track.

The Siege of Ariminum, also known as the Siege of Rimini, was an encounter in 538 AD during the Gothic War, where the Byzantine forces broke the siege by the Ostrogoths (Goths). In early 538 and during the Siege of Rome (537–538), the besieged Byzantine General Belisarius sent John the Sanguinary to raid the Picenum region. John took the initiative and captured Ariminum, near the Gothic capital, Ravenna, to entice the Goths into lifting the Siege of Rome. Belisarius sent reinforcements to Ariminum and ordered John to leave the city, as his cavalry forces would not be useful in the case of a siege. However, John refused to obey and stayed in the city. In the meantime, fearing for their capital, the Goths retreated from Rome in mid-March 538 and moved north. In April they besieged Ariminum, trapping John and his troops. They were unsuccessful in taking Ariminum by force, and instead, the leader of the Gothic forces, Vitiges, decided to starve the town. Initially, the Byzantine leadership was divided over whether to rescue John despite his insubordination. Belisarius ultimately chose to save him after an appeal from Chamberlain Narses that John's loss would boost the morale of the Goths. Belisarius wanted to avoid a direct engagement because the Goths outnumbered the Byzantine forces. He split his army into smaller groups and sent them to Ariminum by land and sea. The near-simultaneous arrival of Byzantine forces from multiple directions created the impression of a much larger army, which unnerved the Goths. As a result, they abandoned the siege in late summer 538 and withdrew to Ravenna. Despite the victory, disagreements over John's insubordination fractured the unity of the Byzantine leadership and shaped the course of the Gothic War.

San Bernardino or San Bernardino da Siena is a Baroque-style Roman Catholic church located in vicolo San Bernardino #26 in Rimini, Italy. The church and adjacent convent are now affiliated with Clarissan Order nuns.
