Fairport High School

Hart's Woods is a small forest located in Perinton, New York. It contains a pristine stand of beech-maple forest, which covered 47% of Perinton prior to settlement. This type of forest with two dominant tree species thrives in areas of glacial till. The 14-acre (5.7 ha) site was declared a National Natural Landmark in June 1972.Hart's Woods is open to the public for hiking on its trail system. It is operated by the Town of Perinton Recreation and Parks Department.

Perinton (originally Perrinton (in federal censuses) and sometimes Perrington when still part of Ontario County) is a town in Monroe County, New York, United States. The population was 47,479 at the 2020 census.The village of Fairport is within the town on the Erie Canal. Perinton is adjacent to the coterminous town and village of East Rochester (west), and the towns of Victor (south), Macedon (east), Pittsford (west), and Penfield (north). The hamlet of Egypt is in southeastern Perinton. Egypt Fire Department, Lollypop Farm, and Egypt Park are major Egypt landmarks. The southwestern portion of Perinton is called Bushnell's Basin and is home to the Bushnell's Basin Fire Department, Hitching Post Plaza, and Richardson's Canal House.

Wilbur House is a historic home located on Main Street in Fairport in Monroe County, New York. It is a Second Empire–style structure built about 1873 that features a two-bay, 2-story tower that projects from the northeast corner of the 1+1⁄2-story front section. The tower, as well as the rest of the front section, is covered by a decorative fish scale and octagonal slate mansard roof. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.Hiram P. Wilbur was the superintendent (some say the first such) of the westernmost section of the Erie Canal, and also the postmaster for the town of Perinton. The home he built in 1873 later served as a boarding school before reverting to a private residence. The house is currently 3,792 square feet (352.3 m2) with five bedrooms. Many of the historic details have been retained, including speaking tubes for intra-house communication.

The Henry DeLand House also known as the Green Lantern Inn was built from 1874 to 1876 in the village of Fairport, New York as a home for Henry Addison DeLand. DeLand was a member of an influential local family and was a baking soda manufacturer. It is located at 1 East Church Street, at the intersection of South Main street.

The First Baptist Church of Fairport is a historic Baptist church located at 94 South Main Street at Church Street in Fairport, Monroe County, New York. It was built in 1876, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, cruciform plan, High Victorian Gothic church. It is constructed of brick and rests on a Medina sandstone foundation. It has a large square corner tower topped by a tall narrow spire. It features ornamental stone trim, a steeply pitched gray slate roof, and 72 original stained, leaded glass windows.: 5  In 2006 a national drugstore tried to buy the land but, in response to adverse local reactions including a concert held by local youth musicians, money was raised to help repair the church instead. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Fairport is a village located in the Town of Perinton, which is part of Monroe County, New York, United States. Fairport is a suburb 9 miles (14 km) east of Rochester. It is also known as the "Crown Jewel of the Erie Canal". The population of the Village of Fairport was 5,501 as of the 2020 census.

The Fairport Lift Bridge is a through-truss mechanical vertical-lift bridge that carries NY Route 250 (Main Street) over the Erie Canal in downtown Fairport, New York, United States. It was constructed in 1913–14 by the Lackawanna Bridge Company of Buffalo, New York, and contracted by H. S. Kerbaugh, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, replacing an 80-foot (24 m) fixed bridge built in 1886, which was removed when the Erie Canal was widened. The Fairport Lift Bridge officially opened to automobile traffic on August 15, 1914. Originally having a wooden deck made of yellow pine, the bridge floor was replaced with steel grating in later years. It is one of sixteen vertical lift bridges located along the western portion of the Erie Canal between Fairport and Lockport.The 139-foot (42 m) bridge is of unique design, being a decagonal style structure with no two angles the same throughout and no square corners on the bridge floor. It also crosses the canal at a 32-degree angle with the southern side being on the higher end. Powered by 40-horsepower electric motors, the bridge has a vertical lift of 10.6 feet (3.2 m). The structure is entirely raised straight up on four corner posts despite the bridge floor having a 4-percent grade. Over an average water level on the Erie Canal, approximate clearances below the bridge are 6 feet (1.8 m) when lowered and 16 feet (4.9 m) when raised. The control building is located on the southeast side of the bridge. Due to increased traffic usage and need of significant repairs, the Fairport Lift Bridge was threatened to be replaced in the 1970s with a new concrete bridge spanning both the railroad tracks and canal. A decision was eventually made to replace the bridge at nearby Turk Hill Road instead to ease congestion and keep the historic lift bridge in place on Main Street.Because of its unusual appearance, the Fairport Lift Bridge was apparently listed in Ripley's Believe It or Not! On September 4, 2019, the New York State Department of Transportation closed the Fairport Lift Bridge for general maintenance and rehabilitation. It was re-opened on June 25, 2021. The bridge was previously refurbished in 1988, although some repair work was also done in 2013.As part of the New York State Barge Canal system, the Fairport Lift Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 2014.

The median teacher experience is 14 years and the median teacher salary is $63,339.As of 2016, Brett Provenzano is the superintendent.

WAIO (95.1 FM, "Radio 95.1") is a commercial radio station licensed to Honeoye Falls, New York, and serving the Rochester metropolitan area. The station airs a hybrid hot talk and active rock radio format and is owned and operated by iHeartMedia. Its studios and offices are located at the Five Star Bank Plaza building in downtown Rochester. The station features one of the longest running morning comedy shows in the region, hosted by Brother Wease. It also carries Rover's Morning Glory from WMMS Cleveland. WAIO has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, the maximum for most of New York. The transmitter is on Baker Road in Victor, New York, amid the towers for other FM radio stations in the area. WAIO broadcasts in the HD Radio hybrid format. Its HD2 digital subchannel simulcasts sister station WHAM 1180 AM, which airs a news/talk format.

WZXV (99.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Christian radio format. Licensed to Palmyra, New York, United States, the station serves the Rochester area and, through a network of translators, most of central and western New York (southwestern New York is instead served by a sister church). The station is currently owned by Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes, Inc. The station operates as a noncommercial religious station; the main frequency and all of its translators are nonetheless in the commercial FM band, above 92 MHz.

WBER is a listener and school district supported community radio station in Rochester, New York, United States, owned and operated by the BOCES, Monroe #1. The station was founded in 1985. The call letters correspond to BOCES Educational Radio, with the pre-1985 call letters (WRHR) corresponding to Rush Henrietta Radio, the original licensee of the station (the Rush-Henrietta Central School District). The station's playlist is Alternative radio, with some new titles added to the regular rotation via a "test track," listener-reporting mechanism. WBER also presents local concerts by popular performers.
