Saugus station is a former train station. It provided the community of Saugus, California rail service via the Southern Pacific Railroad until 1979 when it was acquired by the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society. The station building was moved to its current location in William S. Hart Park in the Newhall neighborhood and was converted to a museum.

Newhall is a rail station in the city of Santa Clarita, California. The station is served by Metrolink's Antelope Valley Line operating between Los Angeles Union Station and Lancaster and Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach buses to/from Bakersfield. Newhall was built as an infill station on the busy Antelope Valley Line and opened on March 18, 2000. The official name of the station is Jan Heidt Newhall Metrolink Station in honor of Jan Heidt, one of the original members of the Santa Clarita city council.

William S. Hart Regional Park, colloquially called Hart Park, is a 265-acre (107 hectare) county park located within the Newhall neighborhood of Santa Clarita, California.

Newhall is the southernmost and oldest community in the city of Santa Clarita, California. Prior to the 1987 consolidation of Canyon Country, Saugus, Newhall, and Valencia into the city of Santa Clarita, it was an unincorporated area. It was the first permanent town in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Pioneer Oil Refinery was the first successful oil refinery in California, built in 1876 off Pine Street in Newhall, Santa Clarita, California. The Pioneer Oil Refinery was designated a California Historic Landmark (No.172) on March 6, 1935. Pioneer Oil Refinery is the oldest existing refinery in the world. The Lang Southern Pacific Station railroad line served the refinery. In 2020, the refinery was added to the National Register of Historic Places; it is the only site on the National Register of Historic Places within the city of Santa Clarita. Pioneer Oil Refinery was built by California Star Oil Works, which became part of Standard Oil of California and then part of Chevron. Chevron still owns the Pioneer Oil Refinery land. Chevron has plans on the table to restore the site. Some of the original parts of the refinery were taken away after it closed in 1884, some to museums and other parts to private collectors. The large kettles used to refine the crude oil in to kerosene and benzene are still on the site, along with an old wooden drill tower. Chevron still gives some tours of the site.

Takuyumam is a former Chumashan settlement in Los Angeles County, California. Its former location is now the site of Newhall.

William S. Hart High School is a four-year public high school in the neighborhood of Newhall in the city of Santa Clarita, California, United States. Founded in 1945, it is the oldest high school in the Santa Clarita Valley. Named for local cowboy actor William S. Hart, it is part of the William S. Hart Union High School District.

The Lyons Station Stagecoach Stop, (originally Hart's Station, then Wiley's Station), was a tavern and stagecoach stop near the southwest corner of Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway, by Eternal Valley Cemetery. The site is located in the present day Newhall section of Santa Clarita, in Los Angeles County, California.

Santa Clarita (/ˌsæntə kləˈriːtə/; Spanish for "Little St. Clare") is a city in northwestern Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is located about 30 miles (48 km) northwest of downtown Los Angeles, and occupies 70.75 square miles (183.2 km2)[12] of land in the Santa Clarita Valley. Two silent film superstars called what is now the city of Santa Clarita home : William S. Hart and Harry Carey. Hart has a presence throughout the city, with his former ranch house now William S. Hart Regional Park, and a high school and a school district bearing his name. At least 60 pictures feature him as director or actor. Harry Carey's former home is now Tesoro Adobe Historic Park; he appeared in over 250 films. His son Harry Carey Jr. was a well known character actor. More modern audiences will recognize Cesar Milan, celebrity dog trainer whose facility is in northern Santa Clarita; and Naya Rivera, star of Glee, whose life was tragically cut short. Santa Clarita is a powerhouse in modern times for athletics. Indycar racer Colton Herta, and his father Bryan Herta, both hail from Santa Clarita. Shane Vereen has a super bowl ring from his time with the New England Patriots. Santa Clarita is well known for baseball, and her high schools have produced many major league players. Three World Series champions - Kevin Millar, known for helping the Red Sox break their curse by playing in the world series, Mike Montgomery, who saved game 7 of his series for the Chicago Cubs, and Bob Walk, rookie winning pitcher in game 1 of his series. World Series participants include Tyler Glasnow, currently a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and a 2024 all star; Trevor Bauer, an all star and Cy Young Award winner; James Shields, who played in 2008 for the Tampa Bay Rays, then in 2014 for the Kansas City Royals; Danny Worth, current coach of the Waves at Pepperdine University; and Todd Zeile, who shares with Tommy Milone the distinction of having played for 11 teams in his career. Santa Clarita has also produced several Olympians, including Crystl Bustos, two-time gold medal winner with the softball team as a designated hitter; Alysia Montaño, track and field star with a bronze medal in 2012; Cory Snyder, part of the 1984 silver medal team for baseball; and Abbey Weitzeil, a swimmer with six Olympic medals.

The Newhall School District is an elementary school district in the Santa Clarita Valley that serves the Valencia and Newhall communities within the city of Santa Clarita, California, as well as the Stevenson Ranch community in unincorporated Los Angeles County. It currently includes ten schools.

The William S. Hart Union High School District (commonly referred to simply as the Hart District) is a school district in the Santa Clarita Valley of Los Angeles County, California. It serves all of the valley's high school students (grades 9–12) and most of its junior high school students (grades 7–8). As of 2019–20, the total number of enrolled students (in 16 schools) was 23,968. The district's superintendent is Mike Kuhlman. The district is named after William S. Hart, one of the first western film stars, who lived in Newhall and was a local benefactor. The region served by the Hart District is also served by the Sulphur Springs, Saugus, Castaic, and Newhall elementary school districts.

Golden Valley High School is a school in the William S. Hart Union High School District in the Canyon Country neighborhood of Santa Clarita, California, United States. The school first opened in 2004 with a new campus; the first class graduated in 2007.
